Leading developer Robin Kool 😭😭
Best interveiw out of the three by far 😅
Is that his real name?
@@ibo1137 no, his username.
I find it funny, that ropz actually is the only one knowing what he is doing xD
he is the lead developer ofc he knows what he is doing
Ropz knows his shit
Plays native res, actually has non-placebo settings, not a surprise tbh
I do actually agree with s1mple about the contrast setting though, especially when people are running through smokes or just their head is visible it does add this weird "halo" effect around the edges of people in CS2 that can be very distracting and has made me miss shots before. In CS:GO if this issue was present I never noticed, but maybe it doesn't affect ropz as much because he plays native res
Would be interesting to see if they play with stuff like backlight strobing (ulmb2/dyac+ etc) or even g-sync or what their Nvidia control panel settings are too.
@@zeph6182 res isnt a placebo it lowers ur fov so everything is bigger. wtf is this braindead comment
ropz is a nigga who know wassup
I'm sure people have mentioned this, but please if you are choosing your settings, follow what Ropz says. If you are new to the game and have no preference go with 16:9 or 16:10 resolution. If you do not have a 240 hz monitor, you should put lots of your settings on high if you want the game to look good (Ropz has Multisampling on CMAA2, try increasing this and see if you still get consistently above 144 fps). improving the visuals of the game will essentially not hurt you at all as long as you consistently get above 144 fps, and will make models more clear and the game more enjoyable.
If you have performance issues, make sure your cpu and gpu drivers are up to date, Nvidia is constantly updating theirs for new titles, and they have put some focus into cs2. But if that doesn't work start by lowering these settings in this order till you can maintain over 144 fps; Particle Detail > Shader Detail > Ambient Occlusion > MultiSampling > Model Texture.
CS2 Added L/R Audio. If you have trouble pinpointing enemies based on their footsteps or gunshots, try turning this up to 100%. It will sound weird at first, but should allow you to pinpoint enemies locations, and you will get used to it. If 100% is too much you can also try with a lower percentage.
Good Luck!
4:3 is just better.
good work. I play for fun and I played for my whole Monitor so I'm gonna use my whole Monitor. 16:9 all the way
@@sauwurabh They technically are using their whole monitor when they play 4:3, because in Nvidia settings they enable stretch to fit monitor. It just will be lower quality resolution
@@micahbosman4897 Wait till he hears about black bars xd. Black bars are kinda bad to get used to but it's similar to stretched. Everything looks the same as 16:9 (albeit more jaggedy) but you get the FPS from 4:3 and you lose tunnel vision a bit.
i'd rather play 4:3 black bars than 16:9
10:16 "Show Team Position In HUD."
If you wanna change it during the game, use command like
(bind mouse5 "toggle cl_teamid_overhead_mode 2 1 0")
to toggle between those modes
Ropz is the mastermind of CS
Also with settings.
I love how many pros actually use a computer over 12 hours a day and dont know basic graphical settings like Texture filtering, which is you have it anything below 4x your game will look like a blurry mess due to all the textures being rendered at a lower resolution at a distance, as a PROgrammer and a PRO cs player, i recommend everyone at home to keep 4x as a MINIMUM. it does not affect FPS on even the lower end GPUs.
Yeah it's really funny
🤓
thankfully someone noticed this, it's one of few settings that won't affect fps but will make a big difference to clarity
they are csgo pros not some ITs
you literally dont know what ur talking about. it does lower fps and it even causes input lag
I like how Monesy says: "Put the same settings and it's gonna be the best for you" and has MSAA set to fucking 8x, which not that many people can handle with consistent fps.
Ropz: CS2 is good because it's the first CS game that works 😂😂
Also Ropz: It's Call of Duty
Ropz is the only one that knows the techinicalities. Articulated properly and clearly. Thanks.
anisotropic below 4x can make weapon skins look blurry unless you inspect them. Ambient oclusion disabled makes it that some enemy shadows don't appear (for instance, the shadows projected on a wall inside buildings like hut on nuke). Needs at least medium for that, but it will eat fps.
who cares if weapons are blurry?
@@nothingness863 anyone who paid for their skins???

thats it. Twistz just confirmed Ropz is indeed a valve employee
hahaha that was actually true. first i didn't quite believe the comments but ropz really is the only one who really knows what his settings do xD
@@kakophonien6514 that's not ropz... lol
Love when it switched to s1mple, m0nesy is in the background playing ping pong
Never knew ropz played native until now. What a legend. CLARITY BOIS UNITE
Crazy to me that I know way more about what each setting does than some pros...
06:52 "aight I'm here with leading developer Robin Kool" 😂
this is a good example why not blatantly copy pro settings. you can clearly tell that m0nesy has no clue what most of the settings even do and just copies from other people. it's always best to do your own research on stuff like this and copy from people who actually know the reason why something is better.
Sure the dev guy knows some better settings, but it's not like you can go wrong copying a pro player's settings as long as they're comfortable for you.
This just show that some pros that have been playing for years don't even know what does what in most settings, the only one that seems to know some things is ropz.
Interviewer: "what does this setting mean?"
Pros: "idk but turn it off please"
Is there a setting to fade away team position in hud ? it is maximum silly when i awp Dust 2 mid for example, my mate is running lower tunnels and i cant aim doubledoors cause his name take the vision on the enemy. Even the scoped crosshair is behind the name
anisotropic/texture filtering should be set to 16x as it doesn't or barely affect performance but gives you clearer visuals further away
But for sure increasing PC latency render.
@@officialmicronn it will literally change fps by at most 1 to 2 frames, it will not affect ur latency in any noticeable way
Of course it does just checked with Nvidia Latency Tab@@nichgofps
@@nichgofps man I tested it with GEForce Performance Overlay and it gives me higher PC Latency - so what are you talking about?
@@officialmicronnyou’re using an overlay and are worried about latency 😂
I agree with m0nesy for the nade binds, I have been using it for like 4 years and it makes your nade game so much easier
your settings is the best
"and do you know what this does" "actually i don't know what this does"
ropz is the man
"We need more fps" - Monesy
Also Monesy: 8xMSAA
well this game is a blurry shit on 1280x960 without high antialiasing
From my experience in games, after 4x msaa it's diminishing returns.
thats what they used is cs go when they played on potato res and needed it to not look like shit and cs go was not so demanding so it wasn't loosing fps
@@gameison4813 open csgo, go with whatever settings you want and 0 msaa or just 2x, enter a map with bots, check fps then change msaa to 8x(apply and restart the game) enter the same map and check fps. You'll probably lose 50-100fps or maybe even more. If you have a good PC that can get you 400+ maybe it's not a bad thing but if people want to copy his settings with PCs that get 100-200(max) fps then it will be bad for them especially with a game like cs2 that's more demanding.
And yes, you can still play csgo, but with bots and stuff like that, there are tutorials available.
Changing fovmodel from 60 to 68 in console was huge for me. Made it feel like cs:go
I put that on 90 , like i had in CS:GO
😂@@peterjones3460
Aniscropic filtering aka texture filtering should ALWAYS be set to 16X. It cost nothing in performance and makes your skins look more crisp. Try it and you'll see. Bilinear is so, 1999
Good information 👍 played with trilinear for over 10 years.
why do you need crisp skins?
@@nothingness863Because you spent thousands of dollars to buy them and you dont want to make them look like shit
@@ozzer3301 lol no
@@nothingness863 Ok bro nice argument, you are right
why is it that when i do the same resolution settings, mine has like a 3 inch black border.
ths guy doesnt sleep, the mental stress of cs life
ropz my boy
i put model detail medium because on low when you spray or just shoot tracers are so low quality and so BIG you cant see anything, on medium tracers are way better in detail smaller. seriously tracers are sooooo big on low model no idea why.
OMG, hud edge position, just what i needed, as i have 32" monitor, i can move radar closer to mid (just tried, as i was interested also what it does), so i dont need to move head 54342 times to the radar before peaking.....
I only played a tiny bit so far. I just clicked the high preset and capped fps at 60 I'll drive myself nuts with settings if I start playing all the time again but for now I'm not to worried about it.
60 fps for this game is a terrible standard. Easy to get high fps and look great. Max out what your monitor can do
im playing with same settings its really nice
At 6:27 I thought s1mple was 7k in premier and was like ohhh looordddy lord.
(But then I saw the ESL avatar)
Twistzz rocking that patek Philipe. I guess playing cs at his level pays well :)
how did you know from that angle? yes trust me, players like Twistzz can afford any watch. they’re millionaires
@@baqloosha_tv zooming in, its a very recognizable design.
CS2 will be the best FPS of all time when lead dev Ropz fixes it up a bit
What do u mean, did he get hired or something, i thought he was hired as a pro player
@@AzizTheGazele552its a meme that he is a cs2 developer because he knows so much about game mechanics/bugs

Other than fps, are there any benefits to lower resolution? Can you see player models better?
everything is bigger
if you play stretched lower resolution, players are stretched or chubbier so it seems like they are larger targets and easier to hit, it can sometimes make you play better but the hitbox feels like shit
A lot of what they are recommending don't make any sense or are false, but that doesn't stop them from being top 10 players lol
how about freesync? do they use it ?
nvidia relfex low latency should disable it?
what dpi is Ropz playing?
Particle details set to low, makes smoke less dense
Yuu really did simple dirty using his blunderyears picture in the thumbnail give blud a chance 💀
Is monesy using back light strobing
lol monesy like that teacher in school who said just do it and dont question me
next time u can put clip with shadow on ancient with ropz xD for example
where exactly do i type in the script
Have they said anything about when the pros will be switching to CS2?
csgo is no more watafak
Why is texture filtering mode on bilinear? wouldnt 16x be better??
most things they do is for performance
For me i cant find color mode?
they didn't even bother to rename the cs:go folder to cs2 :D you have to fiddle around with config commands again, like it shouldn't have been after 1.6 already. one settings menu and done. all the other games get it right, too.
Please I want the best sound config! My sound is like i'm in a bottle. I can't hear anything

Bilinear texture filtering in 2023? Use that if you want blurry textures starting a foot away from you. Use anisotropic 16x, it is essentially no cost on performance and textures aren't a blurry mess

i use 4:3 but refresh rate only get 60fps but when i use 16:9 it can go up to 165. my monitor is 165 btw can anyone help me on that
turn off vertical sync
In windows, first check that the display is set to the correct refresh rate. You can do that by right clicking your desktop then select the right monitor if you have more than one and go to advanced settings and check that the refresh rate is at the highest it can go. After you can go in game borderless fullscreen should give you the refresh rate you set in windows and fullscreen should give you the choice.
If you still can't see the refresh rate you want, you will have to create a custom resolution in your GPU settings or with Custom Resolution Utility (CRU). You create your desired 4:3 resolution and set the refresh rate to your monitors refresh rate. For AMD GPUs, in the Radeon software, go to the gaming tab then display tab and there should be an option to create a custom resolution. For NVIDIA GPUs, go to the NVIDIA control panel, go to the display->change resolution section, then click customize and the option to create the custom resolution should be there. You may need a PC restart after that. Finally, the monitors refresh rate option should be there when you select your custom resolution in-game.
yea its a bug, change to 4:3 but select Windowed mode, apply, then change it back to fullscreen and the 165hz will appear in the refresh rate option, as simple as that, but I dont know why that happens lol

for me with my old 144hz benq monitor i have to play with vsync on, without it it feels like lags
Hmm i have benq xl27 or something like that i dont think i have that problem. Ill double check later.
vsync gives you a shit load of input lag you do not need that shit on in any competitive game force it off in control panel if you dont have gsync on yuour monitor if you do have gsync set it to decide based on the games settings
Currently vsync is the way to go. Game has a memory leak problem and without vsync 120, 240, 360 fps will feel like 60 after 5 minutes of playing. When the issue is fixed we can turn vsync off again.
