Merry Christmas to all of you and thank you so much for your support this year!
This wasn't anywhere near the worst yard I have done but we all have those days... I don't think I showed in the video what a tough day it was. I could have had a tantrum but the perspective of how lucky I am to be able to do this got me through.
Thanks so much for watching, I will be back there next week to beat this yard.

Crack out that hedge trimmer on a lot of that shrubbery, flatten the tops, plumb up the sides, undercut the bottom of the shrubs up and out, a good edge and a final mow will be the finale of the Year! Great effort as always... Merry xmas to you and a happy New Year... Really come along as a channel this year, congratulations!

I would suggest getting a steel blade for the really over grown parts. It saves on your line breaking all the time and it can handle the thick clumps of grass and small branches.

I was going to suggest the same having done many of these slashing type cleanups. That said, you will need to do it in two or three passes in long grass otherwise the long strands of grass will clog the head of the brushcutter.
Also it might be worth looking at your technique for the line trimmer. Having used the speed feed heads exclusively (for line trimming) for the last ten years, I think a more side to side action and less up and down. The more up and down, the more it bump feeds out the line, and the quicker you go through the line. Also I find that you need to keep the head a little further away and let the end of the line do the work. It took me nearly a whole season to get the hang of using the speed feed head.

A tip for the line breakage, its not the only cause obviously because you're hitting sticks and whatnot but often when you have the guard off, your line is a bit longer than what it should be and it applies extra force and tension on the line where it comes through the eyelets on the speedfeed, causes it to snap much easier.

If you haven’t done so by the time I leave this comment, you should get a hedge trimmer and a small chainsaw. The trimmer in particular will make cutting thru the tough and viney grasses you have out there so much easier. Then, you can strim and mow. Also, you can trim/cut any hedges and low hanging branches or palm leaves. Hope that’s helpful! Keep up the great work kiddo! ❤

Nice job. I have a trimmer head that uses individual pieces of trimmer string (3). A landscaper/electrician friend of mine suggested #12 THHN copper wire as a substitute for the nylon. Since we're both electricians we have an ample supply of scrap pieces. He says it's great for tough situations. You just have to make sure your trimmer is capable of handling the extra weight. But 3 short pieces of wire don't weigh much. I wouldn't try spooling it on a different head because I doubt it would auto-feed well.

Mighty glad to have been there Tim. You do good work. That yard will look the best . It's looking much better since you gave it a wack.

Hello Tim I think you need to do a walk through the long grass near the little shed, pull out the hidden debride under the grass before using your trimmer. Anne

Thanks Anne, it’s been so long since it’s been cut that there is so much tree debris tangled in it that you can’t just pull out. I’ll be going back with a mulching blade

Hello friend, I'm subscribed to your channel and I also do this service here, and now I got a state school to do it, there was a lot of high grass up to 1 meter high and I managed to do everything with 3 or 4 mm nylon and I use an automatic spool to replace the nylon and I also made an adaptation to the spool rounding the nylon outlets without leaving corners, it was top

Unfortunately Tim that's life! A day when there are just too many hazards to block your way. I can imagine how frustrating these jobs can be, alas, you have come to their rescue. It takes quite a bit of stamina to keep going, yet, if that is your passion, keep going, you will receive your reward. It's crazy to see how the properties have improved just by cutting the lawn overgrown with those pesky weeds 🤔 but you know some like to live like that I have seen such elaborate decorated trees this season and some just for a reminder, take your choice.... Watching your videos also taught me, keep what is needed, get rid or donate, start making your life easier. I had a lot of tree seedlings and other plants sprouting and asked if my friend would like them, she loved them, when they are fully grown she has saved herself close to 1,000 bucks. so I had the choice pull out and destroy or share. Life is like a grindstone, it can polish you up or grind you down, depends what you are made of. Go well, enjoy some time for yourself, will be waiting to see your part 2 video. Oh all the best for 2022, trust it will be a good year. Kind regards, E 🥂 cheers

When I see the land that gnaws at those properties, what impresses me the most is not the height of the grass but the amount of junk and garbage that is all over the place🤦‍♂️
