- I normally love doing these overgrown yard makeovers but this was a tough day. Extremely hot and tedious. The only thing that got me through was the perspective of how lucky I am do be able to make these videos and help people out.

Who Are You?
I’m a part time mower guy from Sydney, Australia and I enjoy making videos of yard transformations.
Why do you do...?
I haven’t been doing this forever and I don’t profess to know everything.
Happy to hear alternate methods and efficient ways of doing things.
Merry Christmas to all of you and thank you so much for your support this year!
This wasn't anywhere near the worst yard I have done but we all have those days... I don't think I showed in the video what a tough day it was. I could have had a tantrum but the perspective of how lucky I am to be able to do this got me through.
Thanks so much for watching, I will be back there next week to beat this yard.
Crack out that hedge trimmer on a lot of that shrubbery, flatten the tops, plumb up the sides, undercut the bottom of the shrubs up and out, a good edge and a final mow will be the finale of the Year! Great effort as always... Merry xmas to you and a happy New Year... Really come along as a channel this year, congratulations!
Merry Christmas to you. Good job helping people. Just take it easy on yourself. You're Tim the lawnmower man, not superman. Entitled to an of day. Just shows you're human and everything doesn't always go perfect.
👋👋 hi there ..great job.... you even kept your temper😆
I'm beginning to wonder whether the speed head is worth it. You've said it's great to work with but sheeesshh
Anyway... cheers!
You remind me of my son. He doesn't give up until it's done right and never ask for help. I think it satisfies him accomplishing tasks himself so I understand why just you do it. My son has a very big and kind heart for people in need. Be proud of yourself Tim..
The thought was to help and that you did ! Very nice ! Waiting to see the finished product ! Merry Christ-mas and Prosperous New Year
Seasons greetings from USA
Thank you for being real and showing us that even when trying to help others you can have a bad day.
Thank you for what you do. It's so good to see how your channel has grown.
I would suggest getting a steel blade for the really over grown parts. It saves on your line breaking all the time and it can handle the thick clumps of grass and small branches.
That’s the plan for the return mate 👍
Titanium cord and blades possibly..I get cheesed off clearing bush for some xxx to fly pit it .. Happy New Year ...Jan x
I was going to suggest the same having done many of these slashing type cleanups. That said, you will need to do it in two or three passes in long grass otherwise the long strands of grass will clog the head of the brushcutter.
Also it might be worth looking at your technique for the line trimmer. Having used the speed feed heads exclusively (for line trimming) for the last ten years, I think a more side to side action and less up and down. The more up and down, the more it bump feeds out the line, and the quicker you go through the line. Also I find that you need to keep the head a little further away and let the end of the line do the work. It took me nearly a whole season to get the hang of using the speed feed head.
some people are still in the stone age
I use an HD steel core string in my trimmer I got from my buddy. He warned me and I still tore my garden hose up when I got to close. Slashes the hell out of weeds for sure.
❤🌹❤ Merry Christmas ❄🌲❄ from Norway
This is one of those jobs where the sling for the trimmer would come in handy. Arms wouldn't get as tired.
I’m not a fan of them to be honest
thanks for sharing and caring
Cheers Buddy 🍻
Tim you Rock. You are a great example to young people
of someone not afraid of hard work. Tons of respect for you and what you do.
Good Samaritans are hard to find.
No. 1☝,👍
Can't wait for the next installment. Hope you had a nice holiday.
Nice one Tim, I feel ya, sometimes you just have those little frustrating days. Look forward to you tackling this in Part 2
Thanks buddy 👌🎄
Amazing transformation of the yard! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
That backyard was a monster.
After watching this video all I can say is God Bless You and keep you safe.
People naturally don’t like bad days. Without them we would never know how a good one feels. Hopefully you’re blessed to have more good than bad. Some people have to have a lot of bad ones before they understand the feelings of good ones. :)
So true
A tip for the line breakage, its not the only cause obviously because you're hitting sticks and whatnot but often when you have the guard off, your line is a bit longer than what it should be and it applies extra force and tension on the line where it comes through the eyelets on the speedfeed, causes it to snap much easier.
For all your hard work, the back yard looks amazing! The front is beautiful. Can't wait to see it all finished.
We all get those days. Glad you are so nice to do this.
This is A Big Project for Sure.. Great Effort and Crazy Amount of Work.. Thank you for sharing this and being A Awesome Human 💗👏💗
Love, love your videos keep them coming
I like the way you do the freebies you treat the gardens like they are your own ( a really nice job ) and your never beaten , keep up the good work be safe.

A difficult yard is natures way of keeping you humble.😉
Best transformation ever .
People like you inspire others, of any age, to get into lawn care. I like the fact that you do not edit everything that can go wrong. It helps to teach people that, even though you might want to do a good deed and not charge someone, nothing always goes as smoothly as planned. Life isn't easy and neither is every mowing and trimming job.
Did you see your shout out?
@@timthelawnmowerman YES, thank you. You didn't have to do that and I didn't comment so no one thought I was bragging lol. When someone buys you a cup of coffee off your link, they are supporting all your efforts. I applaud them for contributing. It's videos like these that keep people coming back and encouraging, even the hardened people, that doing a good deed requires very little effort! (unless you are sweating yourself with shoulder high grass!!)
Thanks again mate 👍
( I watched the 2nd one first) this was a treat for the eyes because the grass was still green.
Aren't you glad *those days* are only now and then..You did great all said and done..Your got a load more patience than me thats for sure..Always enjoy your vids Tim..thanku
Faith and patience goes a long ways when you're having a bad day. I hope y'all had a Merry Christmas! Looks great already keep up the good work!
That was almost enough to make a grown man cry lol! Hope you had a Merry Christmas and look forward to a Happy New Year!
You too mate! Thanks for all your support this year.
Congratulations you didn’t let that tall thick grass get the best of you. See you next week. Happy New Year to you and Kate.
Keep on doin' Tim! I find it a wonderful thing that some people provide a service for free , no matter what the cost! It is, I think, a two-fold endeavor- giving a helping hand helps others and ourselves! Will be watching in the new year!
Thanks so much for the support!
That wasn't an easy job that is for sure, but it looked so nice when you finished. Next week, they will have the best yard on the block!
Great job on this yard! I enjoy your videos, the sounds of the equipment helps me relax and even sleep. One of my favorite smells is fresh cut grass, which I can smell when watching your videos especially the ones without the music overlays on some. Thank you!
You are an amazing Person, doing God's work and showing the world the most important concept: How to have great Character; YOU HAVE It. The world is thankful for People like you. Thank you for the great work, as well as entertainment at its best.
I’m not doing anything special. I’m just running my business in a way that I can make these videos and help people at the same time. No real sacrifice here but thanks 🙏
G'day Tim, I suggest a Brush cutter Blade for that overgrown areas..
It will make light work of those sticky Areas.
Great work you are doing for your Community.. Top Bloke👍
I think you should get one of those brush hog and spice things up a little. I loving the content though.
Another fine job by Sir Tim!
You and your partner have a very safe New Year's and a prosperous 2022!
I love watching your vids, Tim, the goodness that you deliver onto others is heart-warming.
I will say, however, myself a vet, disabled with a C4-C5 level SCI, unable to afford the % down-payment to enter the housing market (Austin Texas), to see homeowners let their lawns go to such disarray...grrrrr. If they cannot afford lawn care...even a neighborhood kid...more grrrr. I know...am preaching to the choir.
Anywho, thank you for caring. You indeed have a good soul! 🐈🐈
You are truly ❤ amazing 👏 Tim all credit to you mate WOW 👌 your transformation is incredible 👏 🙌 ❤
I’m not doing anything special. I’m just running my business in a way that I can make these videos and help people at the same time. No real sacrifice here but thanks 🙏
Look some brush cutter line you can replace you can replace the stag look after that thing you done a great job don’t stress Tim merry Christmas 🎄
The homeowner must be so appreciative with the improvement you've made to their property!! Hope you and family had a wonderful Christmas!
Those are neat shots of the tree shadows on the front yard when camera is on the driveway. 💚 looking forward to part 2!
As frustrating as that was, I’m impressed that you made a string trimmer do the work of of bush hog. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours! 😊
Great job !!! It was nice to see you moving the trimmer side to side. You moved through stuff faster an with more ease then bouncing every 30 seconds.
Again Tim, what you did get today looks really good. I did notice across the street was some high grass... Great job today...
If you haven’t done so by the time I leave this comment, you should get a hedge trimmer and a small chainsaw. The trimmer in particular will make cutting thru the tough and viney grasses you have out there so much easier. Then, you can strim and mow. Also, you can trim/cut any hedges and low hanging branches or palm leaves. Hope that’s helpful! Keep up the great work kiddo! ❤
Hope you and Nicole had a wonderful Christmas. Came out a treat. Looking forward to the crisp edges in part 2!
Thanks so much, you too!
You did a great job Tim.
Very good Job it Looks Better!!!
Hi Tim that looks like a three day job and as hard as can be with all that overgrowth and other things in the yard. You really worked hard on this job. Hope you can have a cold beer at the end of the day.
Merry Christmas, Tim and everybody else. ❤️ hope the next year is an improvement
Some days ya beat the yard, some days the yard beats you . just be glad for no wasps
The grass that ate the line trimmer
Good on you for persisting as it's a huge improvement. Looking forward to seeing part 2.
Thanks Sue 🙏
Very nice job! God Bless you and your family! Thank you for the video...really enjoyed it.
Tim, you did a magnificent job. Looking forward to Part 2. Happy New Year !!
You too Lisa!
This one really tested you trying to cut down that thick grass I would have used a Brush Hog for that mess looks great.
41c yesterday here in South WA. Phew, it's hot! Don't bust yourself tim, take it easy. Joh.
I like watching your videos because it keeps summer in mind when it's -50 here in Canada.
Love your podcasts so much. I could tell this was different. Got a little dizzy watching the last mowing. Can’t wait to see how you master this next week. Thanks so much. Great job
Looking forward to part ll Tim.
It would be interesting to do follow up videos on some of those free makeover yards 2-3 mo later and see what has become of them and if the owners cared enough to maintain them.
Sorry you had a rough day, however it looks really good and will get ever better next week!
Merry Christmas!
You too bud!
Thank goodness council does my front lawn. Got home from holidays and no joke the back looks like this, at least the front gets done by council regularly (and for free!). Takes a little set up but is super easy to do :)
thanks for watching!
@@timthelawnmowerman my pleasure :)
Love your work Tim.
That stand up mower is a godsend isn’t it!
Looking forward to a great ’22
Happy new year buddy
You too mate!
We all have those days.
Try steel blades for the thick brush cutting, they should save you time and frustration.
That's the plan for when I go back
Nice job. I have a trimmer head that uses individual pieces of trimmer string (3). A landscaper/electrician friend of mine suggested #12 THHN copper wire as a substitute for the nylon. Since we're both electricians we have an ample supply of scrap pieces. He says it's great for tough situations. You just have to make sure your trimmer is capable of handling the extra weight. But 3 short pieces of wire don't weigh much. I wouldn't try spooling it on a different head because I doubt it would auto-feed well.
We all have days like that just don’t give up
You would pick a huge yard! LOL
You did awesome. Can't wait to see how you tackle that mess in the backyard corner. Yeesh!
My comment was here but my like was gone. I always make sure my like is completed for your videos.
Yup, perseverance works for sure. Nice vid. 💜🎁
Merry Christmas!! Sorry for the bad day. Don’t get discouraged for it happens to all of us. Love your channel!!
another great video mate keep up the good work. wow look at all that Lantana.
Looks really 👍👍👍👍,great job
When I first started watching your videos and didn't understand who you are reaching out to help, I made a less than kind remark (about someone in the background on one of your videos). Your reply to me was as kind and non-judgmental as it was to the person in the video. I want to apologize for my judgmental remark and let you know that what you are doing and how you are doing it is wonderful. I felt the convecting power of the Holy Spirit and had my eyes opened to compassionate service. Thank you for serving not only the people whose lawns you mow but also opening the hearts and minds of us watching and learning from your example.
So far, it looks pretty good
Quite nice Tim, the yard looks much better with what you got done, this yard will bring you to the breaking point, you know what needs doing, so stand tall and push forward as you have done, and it will be done, I have faith in the fact that you are more than capable to bust it down and show us the beautiful yard that it is under all that over grown grass, thanks for sharing this video and I'm looking forward to the finale of this yard
James, from Susquehanna Pennsylvania USA
Thanks for the kind words
Frustrating to say the least Tim, but you persevered with it 👍 Looking forward to part 2 and the epic result. Merry Christmas to you Tim and best wishes for the New year 🍻
You too Jules! 🎉
Merry Christmas and many blessings in 2022!
Yes Tim some days it's like that but we plod along I know how you feel since cancer I can't mow my lawn anymore and my sister has to and that's a fight in itself I feel useless now but your doing a brilliant job well done
Knowing people are going through things like that gives me some perspective. Thanks for watching and be well 🙏
Talk about a Trying day . ❤
Happy Christmas! and a Great New Year to come. I enjoy the channel and share it often. To 50,000 and beyond!!
You are very good to these people so dont pay any attention to people's talk !
another good job Tim, looks like another job across the road for you too
Way to persevere! I felt your pain
Hi Tim! Thanks for showing us the best and worst of what you do. We are fortunate that you are willing to share it all with us, the proverbial "Good, Bad, and Ugly". Thanks again and a very Happy New Year to you and yours. George
Went back there today to get some revenge 👌
Good start to a big job Tim ! Eagerly waiting for part two ! X
Thanks Mandy! Hope you had a lovely Xmas 😊
@@timthelawnmowerman thank you Tim. It was bearable ! Lol hope you guys did too . Let’s hope the new year is a better one for the world ! Best wishes to you and Nicole x
Always look forward to your videos….
Merry Christmas Tim, I know the same frustration as well with the speed head always breaks on one side and leaves the other short. Great job so far can’t wait for the second part
Merry Christmas! Great video. Thank you 😊
Merry Christmas 🎄
Mighty glad to have been there Tim. You do good work. That yard will look the best . It's looking much better since you gave it a wack.
Thanks Laura!
Hello Tim I think you need to do a walk through the long grass near the little shed, pull out the hidden debride under the grass before using your trimmer. Anne
Thanks Anne, it’s been so long since it’s been cut that there is so much tree debris tangled in it that you can’t just pull out. I’ll be going back with a mulching blade
We all have a frustrating day every now and then. Can't wait to see the edging!
Looking good👍🏼👍🏼
Hello friend, I'm subscribed to your channel and I also do this service here, and now I got a state school to do it, there was a lot of high grass up to 1 meter high and I managed to do everything with 3 or 4 mm nylon and I use an automatic spool to replace the nylon and I also made an adaptation to the spool rounding the nylon outlets without leaving corners, it was top
Hi Tim, MC to tou and my compliments for your perseverence.....Look forward to part II...!
Thanks so much!
Merry Christmas to Tim, Mrs. Tim, and all the little Timettes! =)
You too! 🎉
Unfortunately Tim that's life! A day when there are just too many hazards to block your way. I can imagine how frustrating these jobs can be, alas, you have come to their rescue. It takes quite a bit of stamina to keep going, yet, if that is your passion, keep going, you will receive your reward. It's crazy to see how the properties have improved just by cutting the lawn overgrown with those pesky weeds 🤔 but you know some like to live like that I have seen such elaborate decorated trees this season and some just for a reminder, take your choice.... Watching your videos also taught me, keep what is needed, get rid or donate, start making your life easier. I had a lot of tree seedlings and other plants sprouting and asked if my friend would like them, she loved them, when they are fully grown she has saved herself close to 1,000 bucks. so I had the choice pull out and destroy or share. Life is like a grindstone, it can polish you up or grind you down, depends what you are made of. Go well, enjoy some time for yourself, will be waiting to see your part 2 video. Oh all the best for 2022, trust it will be a good year. Kind regards, E 🥂 cheers
Thanks so much for the support. Merry Christmas and happy new year 🥳
Wow, hero guess when you got done with that yard . You were ready for a cool one want you. Hope the next round goes a little better for you. Keep up the awesome work.
Excellent idea good one !!!
Thanks for sharing 😀
Thanks for litlle heart ☺
Merry Christmas to you and your family, I enjoy watching you work and help out people less fortunate than others.
Thanks mate! Merry Christmas 🎅 Christmas
When I see the land that gnaws at those properties, what impresses me the most is not the height of the grass but the amount of junk and garbage that is all over the place🤦♂️
got to love aussie grass , well done your channel is great
Great job
