Can My $10,000 Wrecker Save This $250,000 Camper Truck??
Вставка
- Опубліковано 8 лют 2025
- This Ford F-450 was using a boat ramp to back a pontoon boat into the lake when the ramp surface gave way and the truck broke through. That left the truck, camper, and boat all stuck in the water. Some other pickups attempted to pull him out, but were unsuccessful. So I brought the 4x4 wrecker up to see if I could get it rescued from the lake.

That's the first time I've ever heard the F word in one of Casey's videos
ua-cam.com/video/CTp2KBJlyGo/v-deo.html
That's a lot of f****** lol
Hahah came here to mention that other video. Got the gift of not having to look it up. Thanks Casey!
And your problem is???
@@CaseyLaDellethe hardest I’ve laughed in a while… sorry for laughing at your struggle but damn the comments were spot on😂😂😂
This IS the boat ramp! Clearly it’s a ramp that needs a little maintenance, but it is indeed the actual boat ramp where they were supposed to be launching that boat.
I've launched at that ramp dozens of times. It's a very shallow and gently sloping ramp. Gets quite a few people in trouble because of how far you have to back in to launch most boats. Great job on the recovery!
@bertschb I was one of the one's that had a car top boat, and would unload in the sandy spot and could launch easily, agreed that ramp was and still is flat
That boat ramp needs a lot of maintenance.
It's literally a minefield of holes from the back spike of numerous tow trucks, i think it needs to be re-engineered, not just maintenance. 😂
@@UmmmmmmmWhat it was intended for just little aluminum boats on little trailers even back in the early 90s when it was a dirt road all the way up there from the bottom of that rd,,just my thoughts
Casey, You are the man. Any other tow guy would have robbed them blind !! Good karma !!
To be fair, off road tow truck drivers offer a service that few people utilize, they gotta be able to stay in business. Blame Capitalism.
I charge the same amount as any other wrecker service does and around here anything off-road will cost 25-35% more than a regular tow because the extra wear and tear on the equipment should be paid for by the customers who cause it my offroad wreckers aren't cheap to running either but old military deuces and 5 tons depending on what's stuck aren't cheap to run and im pretty much the only service around that'll take jobs off main roads
Very true. I was charged 140 bucks to get towed 3 blocks to my house after a ball joint broke. Tow truck company was around a mile away.
@@albertorozco5981 I charge 100 bucks to start my truck and 25 a mile starting when I leave my yard and ending when I shut it down back at the yard even if I'm empty from the customer's house or shop they pick unless I pick up another call on my way home then that gets them a refund from the time I get the call then the fees start for me next guy 100 even though the truck's running and the odometer goes to them so 143 sounds fair to me I also charge 35 a day storage at my yard I get alot of tows because my cheaper than average storage fee for my area
Gotta pay for those 120k tow trucks man…@@Farbulus
In addition to the generator, he should check rear diff and wheel bearings for water.
It sounded like the brakes might do with a checkup too! That was worse than fingernails on the blackboard!
The dif and wheelbearings will be good as long as the seals didn't need replaced beforehand and the dif vent was still located in the factory position
If the oil is not leaking out the water is not going in.
That man showed so much appreciation and gratitude! I know you don’t charge but when people insist on paying you something it makes me smile, as that’s how I was raised! I recently pulled a few trucks out of the ditch during our attic storm that hit Tennessee, one driver a young guy didn’t even get out of his car ( didn’t want to ruin his shoes ) let alone say thank you! The other was a 20 something lady with 3 kids and looked like she was going into labor any day, she insisted on giving me 20 dollars and a hug. I slipped the 20 in her coat pocket when she hugged me. Treat people how you want to be treated or how you want your wife and kids treated! Help out those in need and you might get the same kindness when you’re in need!
Fellow Tennessean here I to have pulled many people out of ditches and up hills in tge snow many gave me thanks and offered to pay me something but I've never charged anyone because as you said I would appreciate the same help for my wife & now grown kids and now my grandkids ! It always gives me a good feeling knowing I was able to help someone in need ! I'm from Kingsport Tennessee and have lived in the Church Hill area for 30 plus yrs !
Afternoon Casey , that was a real nice truck to have stuck in the lake. You made easy work of getting that out. Congrats on 200,000 Subscribers! 👍🎊🎉
He should check all of his lights for water infiltration. On the newer trucks there are a lot of electronics that can get fried .
The lower camper lights below the tailgate were the only 1s submerged and most campers like semis and boat trailers those are submergeable my cheap slide in camper even came with those 14 years ago my 3 year old 5th wheel camper even has them all around even the clearance lights
True, but there's also a lot of self protection in those electronics. They're constantly monitoring the circuit with low voltage. If it detects a fault, whether open or short circuit, it will disable power to prevent damage to the circuitry in the module. The downside is sometimes you need to clear a fault with a scan tool when a light bulb goes out before the light will work again.
I'd check the rear diff also, you never know how high they put the breather tube or how warm that diff was when it went in the water
Nicely done! Oh, and sometimes it is actually a kindness to let people give you some money. They feel better about it. That's honest folks for ya, they'd feel like they took something from you otherwise. Anyhow, great moment to be the cameraman!! $$$ :)
I used to do moves as a young man and learned that if someone offers you a water or tip or snack... always accept even if you don't want it. It makes them feel good and that's what life is about. Kindness and love usually cost nothing.
That's why the ones who insist on paying him he tells them donate what they think is fair to pay him to their favorite charity he does his hobby they still pay for it and a charity gets much needed money
So nice of you Casey to give the camera man the money for helping you . One of the reasons I keep watching your channel .
👍🏻
So cool that you don’t charge people; it’s cool to see how happy you make people in time of need.
Cool the camera man got paid! 😊
Portable lights on stands seem so useful in situations like that! The lift really made a difference. Oh, and a happy looking camera man at the end. 😃
I've been using those portable lights for almost 5 years those were game changers getting vehicles out of dark ditches or in the fog
I suggested to Matt at MORR to build a folding light stand into a roof rack for night recoveries. He has room on the roof of the banana or Morrvair. Four forward facing work lights and one pointing down for an area light around the truck. Casey does recoveries on roads and other stuff where the portable lights are probably better for him.
@@azmax623 Portable light on side is also great for all the shadows a single panel makes when you are between the lights and something else.
@@azmax623 those portable lights take up little room and 2 are enough to safely upright an overturned semi and get it on the road and hooked to a rotator
Congratulations on obtaining the 200,000 subscriber mark. Your a real champion in the recovery ring.
Thanks Casey for being the good man you are. I can’t imagine how scary it was for everyone in the truck. YOU ARE BETTER THAN GOOD AT WHAT YOU DO. Take care, stay safe.
Congrats on 200k subs!! Nice job pulling that mammoth rig out Casey it was an awesome job well done!! Also what a nice jester to give the cameraman that tip, he looked really happy with that!!!!!!
Nathan is a nice jester! And it was a wonderful gesture to offer him pay for standing in the cold wet darkness to film.
"Take shortcuts because sometimes it works." That's great
This reminded me of a video you posted a year or so ago - pulling someone out of a lake in the dark. That has to really suck, sitting in the dark, stuck in a lake. Good job!
As someone else commented about the rear axle and possible water intrusion, I certainly would suggest this truck owner check the diffs and even the transfer case for water. Leave the unit sit overnight and then carefully back the drain plugs out enough to get a sample with a clean catch container and then pour that into a narrow glass jar to let sit and examine for water in the oil. If there is water in the driveline that would be bad news down the road. The gen set, without a doubt change the oil on it and probably first off pull the spark plugs before cranking it over to shoot out any water that may have entered the intake system. I'm sure he was not a "happy camper" that night and such a relief to get pulled out.
Assuming the guy makes it home ok, after a good night's sleep, viewing it all in the daylight will hopefully reveal that any damage is minor. Once he gets a clear head, he should be able to figure out what needs attention. All of your suggestions are good ones.
I love wreckers
And here’s Casey, always paying it forward!
$250,000!!! The camper doesn’t even have a front window! Makes me feel good that I bought a 1973 K20 deluxe camper pkg, 9.5 sunline camper and 19’ boat w/150hp for $7,500. All the money they spent, they should have a rubber truck tire chock, tethered to the truck behind the rear wheel. As soon as you have the trailer in the water where you want it, set the chock, put the boat on and drive up the ramp. The chock will drag behind until you get off the ramp. This is old school, but I have backed down steeper ramps at low tide(with the camper on) and never had any trouble.
Take a wheel chock and chain it to the truck bed. That will anchor you.
Exactly what I was saying
Casey as an old wrecker recovery guy, heck of a job while being very humble and courteous. Well done sir😅
That came out easier than I thought it would after seeing the Instagram pictures
Thaw=t was one heavy load on that truck. At least he was able to drive it out after you got him part way out! Good job Casey!
Casey you are doing all of these people that you rescue a great service. I have enjoyed watching many hours of you doing these rescue and want to commend your selfless deeds.
I do have one suggestion though. I have seen you pull several vehicles with the rear axel submerged. Could you please suggest to those people that they should get their vehicle differential oil changed, and if they have drum brakes the auto adjuster dried out and anti-seize put on the star wheel barel.
This may save them grieve in the future.
You're awesome Casey. Any tow company seeing that nice of a set up in that spot would rip that guys pocket apart. Then you passed on what he gave you anyway. Simply awesome.
The little wrecker that could. A tool is only as good as the one who's operating it.
Thank you for just being a good person. Great job
What I like about this channel is that Casey never breaks for a commercial that has nothing to do with the video. I do like to learn about different products but it drives me crazy when a commercial about a nutritional supplement or product breaks away from the task at hand. I am already subjected to UA-cam commercials.
Well I have some bad news for you then… because that’s probably going to start soon 😂.
I’ve turned them down for way too long, but I have some big goals with all of this, and those goals aren’t going to happen if I don’t start making some real money with it.
@@CaseyLaDelle
PLEASE… I do not want to think about how you trim your…. Private bits!
Or how you too get depressed and need someone to talk to. Product placement and using a sponsors product is fine, just not the commercials where you say, before I get on with what your interested in, let me tell you about this green powder that you mix with your water to stay regular. We all know that isn’t an issue with you
@@michaelalbert8474 see, that’s where you’re dead fucking wrong! For one, I do have some mental issues that I use help for, and have for many years. Likewise, I also have massive nutrient deficiencies, since I’m literally missing the part of my body that absorbs nutrients, and have to use other methods to get them. On top of that, this is a business that needs to make money, and of someone gets upset that I’m making money for what I’m doing…. Then they aren’t someone who’s opinion I care about anyways so it’s not an issue.
@@CaseyLaDelle
SMH No one is upset that your making money. It was not my intention to make you upset. You seem like a nice guy and I enjoy watching you do “your thing”. You do you, and you will be successful.
My last comment was an attempt to be humorous, although I apparently missed the mark.
@@michaelalbert8474 I’m not the least bit upset.
There are few people that have the compassion and get go you have I dont have a appropriate response to your work so I will just say you rock!
That’s one hell of good old small 4x4 wrecker truck Casey 👍great piece of kit !
that submerged Onan Generator needs to get the engine serviced and the generator be baked dry in an oven @ low heat, then the windings and electical parts be be meggered / insulation tested!...!
Luv the minnow bucket in the back window 😅
A couple came to the rescue of twenty one thousand pounds of luxury toys. And you made one entire family happy to be free. That's when you shine Casey, when the people are in despair 🎉. That's when you are the happiest at doing your job..
So hey, taking a look at the map and I realized I was at those lakes at the end of July! I was on the ORBDR and I think that was a side trip I took. Didn't spend much time at the lakes but Paulina Falls and the Big Obsidian Flow trail was worth the stop. Beautiful area. Much better in the daytime!
That wrecker is awesome for its size. I thought that a big truck, buried to the frame, would drag the wrecker backwards but it stayed put and didn't even moan. Another job well done.
My goodness, that’s a smooth recovery! Impressive those fords. The towhooks are very sturdy!!
good folks there.
The world needs more Casey's...
Well done. Good job there Casey and Ethan. Thanks for the video.
Just dropped a forklift off to this guy! In bend Oregon your name rings bells around bend sir!
Saved another one!! LOL!! Yup, that guy was in quite the predicament!! Good thing he was able to call you! Nice job getting him out!!
Thank you Casey, your generosity is overwhelming, you do so much good in this world,
You're a good man Casey.
Ethan is a good egg and camera man, just like Grumpy! I always enjoy their additional comments and cheerleading.
Awesome, thank you for being such a good guy.
Awesome casey congratulations on 200k subscriber you've come along way since the 5k you had when I found your channel. I wish the best for you and your family moving forward.
I use to run 2 Ford wreckers with the exact same unit as what you have, they were damn near unstoppable!
A good operator doesn't need the big dollar new truck to get the job done!
WOW. That went WAY better than I could ever have expected. Good Job!!!!
That is because Casey really *is* good at what he does, even tho he won't admit it.
We believe you because your always saying you know nothing. Yet your rigging is amazing
2 Casey videos in one weekend, great!
Well done Casey. That was one expensive rig you just rescued😂❤.
When Ethan said the volcano was the size of Rhode Island as a Rhode Islander i approve of Ethan's message LOL great recovery Casey an Ethan BTW do more video shots of your wrecker doing wheelies
Well done Casey !!!
We all make mistakes I can only imagine his relief when his truck came out of the Lake. Good job Casey another great video.
I wish there were folks like Casey where I live.
For someone who says he doesn't know what he is doing, you always, seem to get it done. Amazing what a small change can do. Lifting VS pulling.
It’s a combination of luck and stubbornness
Ty for posting
I'm am as impressed with your skill as I am that truck for getting itself the rest of the way out!
I have seep Paul Cox of Fab Rats use a spare tire . Run the line/ strap over the tire, next to the stuck vehicle, to generate lift from a lateral pull
That creates lift on the stick vehicle, but doesn’t help anchor the pulling vehicle
Dude says you dont owe me anything. I love you Casey
15:20 What is even more incredible, all the rest of the mountain/volcano was blown to smithereens to fall back down many miles away as volcanic ash to become a tuff deposit.
9.25.23 Thanks for helping Casey and Ethan.
YOU are the man!!
Sometimes God stops long enough to create something very special , That something special is you. may god grant you many, many great days ahead. I try to watch all of your videos.i love your attitude. Iam a retired caterpillar training instructor. I was a hard ass,but very fair to all my students .I treated them like you do with you customers.
Absolutely awesome job getting this convouy out of the lake Casey!!
Excellent. Much success to you Casey
Good morning Casey you are good at what you do because you think outside the box and get things done.
You figure out a plan and then adapt the plan to get the job done.
So glad that there wasn’t an incoming tide 😊
Excellent work-light set-up! It's getting things like that right that make the job easier (and safer) as you aren't struggling to see what you are doing!
I bet he won't have problems getting volunteer cameramen now ❤
14 gallon's into a 15 gallon tank ain't the end. You forgot your fuel left in the lines. Then there's the fumes floatin' around.. Not to mention tailwinds, gravity and faith. Loads o' it...
Another great recovery! 👍 regards from Sweden 🇸🇪
Awesome video. Thank you
Good job again 🏴
Maybe you can setup some portable floodlights to see better from a different angle and your work lights would not blind the person in the pickup
Wow.. I thought they were screwed. That's freakin awesome. Much respect for getting them out.
I would have paid you something as well.. at least gas and a bite to eat. Thanks for the video
Casey..... Your generosity is beyond AWESOME.... May the good Lord above shower down his blessing upon you in abundance....
You're a good dude Casey. Really enjoy your videos. Been in central Oregon for 38 years. Fun to see where you do your videos as I recognize almost all of it. You have also recovered some vehicles in accidents I responded to as a FF/EMT. Great content sir.
At least I'm not the only one that doesn't find the time to always organize my gear after a long day. Need to show this to my wife to prove it 😂
nice night time lighting addition
Your very generous Casey. Stay safe. Really enjoy your videos. Great camera man.
Youre a good man Casey
😮that's a fat rig you did good getting her out. 🎉
Awesome job Casey, I like and love your tow truck service, No job to big , You just smile at the job and do it with passion
Great recovery 👌
You are awesome, Casey!
Seems like a good vehicle that could use a Jerry can or two mounted somewhere on it , for those long distance rescues
OR he could ask me for the 110 Gal mid tank I have for this model year... might mess up his ground clearance (for sure) though...
Yes, this was a heavy car. Good that you made that! Thank you
Great job Casey. And nice of you to give Ethan the Spoils of the job. Congratulations on hitting your 200K mark Casey 🤙😎
It was neat as the cameraman pointed out that ALLL THAT CAMPER and BOAT came out of the darkness once you got the truck moving. I know it can pull a lot but jeepers thank goodness the dude left his pet elephant at home.
Goodbye Ethan...😂😂😂
Another job well done. I can't imagine his anxiety and then relief as you showed up.
Great winch out, enjoyed watching, thanks.
That was a major mess. You did very good.
Casey another good job. Camped at the East Lake Resort way back in late 90's. It was a really cool place. Mother nature is awesome.
Another great vidro casey
This stuff rocks Casey
They are lucky that that lake did not have a tide to worry about!
The camera quality view is crazy. I mentioned as well in one of my plow videos
You make it look so easy, as usual.
