This comparison is a total clickbait by the news company. Toilet seats are relatively clean. A more fair comparison would be comparing germs in rideshare car vs someones private use car.

I found a study of a normal car. The steering wheel which was the dirtiest place had less than 700 cfu in a normal vehicle.
