    wait so they are two types of lion dances southern and northern. I think in my state which is Texas has more
    southern lions then northern lions thank you for making this great video about China and happy
    Lunar New Year.

      Yeah there are two types of lion dances, southern and northern, the ones you see in Texas would most likely be southern. In fact southern lions are more common than northern lions, even here in Vancouver and in Canada. We still do have Northern lions but just not very many kung fu association would have. As Vancouver has many Chinese, we do have all the types that are shown in the videos, like unicorn etc. Even with southern lions, there are different styles of southern lions like Hoksan, Liu Bei, Zhang Fei, Guan Yu.

      There is a Qilin with a dragon’s head and the “unicorn” head
