Your sister she’s wayyyyy better than professionals. Honestly. Watching your video as I’m deep conditioning my hair as well, today is my relaxer day 😂 beautiful hair girl
Your sister did an incredible job! I may even say better than the pros. I did hear you say that time is a big concern for you. You have oodles more hair than me, but I use to have relaxed hair just like yours, if I may offer help, you might benefit from pre parting and a large application brush or application spatula. The pre parting will cut down on paring, tangles and just the fact that your hair being so long and thick would be easier to handle. Just my 2 cents, but I hope it helps. Your results are great...also since you like box relaxers, have you ever tried Precise? It leaves your hair feeling like conditioner was in your hair instead of harsh relaxer. All the best Cassie, loved the video
@LillianPearson-Dryer Awww Lillian thank you so much for the suggestions. I TRULY appreciate it. It makes a lot of sense, actually. I was discussing the pre parting method with my sister earlier today as a way to cut down on time and stop getting burned. I was thinking about using it if I decide to self-relax one day. Question though, how do you keep the twist from unraveling while applying the relaxer? I feel like mine would not stay put 😕 😪.
@@CassysHairCare It dont have to stay super in place. In fact, it is best if it unravels to make take down easy. This said, I hold all the twists in each section with alligator clips until my hubby gets to that section.
@@CassysHairCare personally when I relax, I use lots of castor oil and vaseline on my relaxed ends so the oil helps the twists stay a bit longer. That said, they usually unravel anyway, but it does help!
Looovvveee ur comment! I agree, i see ur vision. If she parts the rectangles, and she has the bigger application brush she will prob be able to breeze thru….she will also be able to better grease her scalp too….
@tisser5716 Thank you! Yes it's a lightweight that doesn't leave the hair feeling greasy or weighed down. I use it before heat styling and also after to add shine. Let me know if you like it.

@nicoled7458 Thank you, Nicole 😊. If your hair is beyond sensitive girly, then I wouldn't suggest going back to it. I only do it for its convenience at the moment.
i highly recommend using the affirm relaxer system. especially fiber guard for sensitive scalp. i can literally work out and wash my hair 48 hrs before a touch up and I never get a burn. i think you'll see improvement with a lye relaxer because it doesn't take as long to process. to get through my whole head takes about 15-20 minutes and I have bra strap length hair
I agree. I’m a natural girly these days, but in my last year of getting relaxers I switched to Affirm and never got another chemical burn. At the time, I was mad that I hadn’t switched sooner.
Your Sis did an awesome job! I use Soft and Beautiful 2boxes also and Isoplus for extra I ve switched between Dark and Lovely 30yrs ago to African Pride now Soft and Beautiful which I love bcz of the olive oil. I use Hairlicious perm day routine with shampooing neutralizer shampoo and leave in for 5min then wash repeat 3times, last time leave on for ten. Game changer🙌! I used to have to wash my hair 7-8x to get the perm out😑. I perm my hair at home. Too many horror stories, I go to salon after❤. Love this one
@StarVee-iw3zm the hair salons do have some horror stories unless you get lucky with a great stylist, lol. I might have to self-relax if I can't find one closer to home 😕 😩.
Your hair came out nice. You mentioned about finding away to relax your hair quicker to prevent burning. I follow Hairlicious and one of the things she does is pre-section her hair before relaxing it. It goes much quicker and I haven’t had any burning since doing it this way.
New subbie here! I am so happy I came across your channel, I just realized that everyone I follow is natural and not relaxed. This is only the 2nd video I've seen and I've already learned so much! Your sister did an awesome job, your hair is beautiful. I know your pain about finding a trusted stylist. I live 40 minutes away from mine, but I still make that drive because she's been my stylist the last 20 years 😅 Looking forward to more content! 🥰
Welcome to the channel! 🥰 I’m so glad you found me-I love connecting with other relaxed-hair ladies! It’s great that you’ve found a stylist you trust for 20 years-totally worth the drive! 🚗 It's about the same for my stylist, thus why my sister relaxed my hair the last time for me. I am still looking for a good one in my area. Your support means so much, and I can’t wait to share more content with you. 💕
You could also apply a skin protectant to the full scalp to cut down on burning. Also perhaps trying a mild formula which allows for a longer work time. She really stayed off the scalp but the smoothing will allow it to touch and a petrolatum product will add protection. Using a spatula will also speed up the application. To protect your already relaxed hair and prevent overlap you use a conditioner and then that same petrolatum product, the Blue Magic, to coat the strands. I follow this routine at the salon and it has been over 10 years since I had a burn. I use Mizani mild twice a year.
The best way to wash long hair is in a standing position in the shower, where hair is hanging down. No manulipilation but gently do the scalp and gently squeeze the hair shaft and let the water do the work. So there isn't any tangling when done washing. You have beautiful healthy hair. ❤🎉

Your hair looks amazing!! It's coming along really well. I can't wait to feel my scalp again. What started out as a six month stretch will be extended until nine. I'm on month 7 though. She did a great job on your hair. 💜
Even though she did not show her whole face I have recognized Perette as your hairdresser(sister), she did a good job, your hair is beautiful. By the way it was nice seeing her again!
Your channel is inspirational, im always taking notes, i want healthy relaxed hair ❤. Maybe section the 4 big sections into the smaller sections that you would normally part out to put in the relaxer, Maybe that would cut down the time the relaxer stays on you hair and maybe prevent the burns?
Thank you so much, Harriett! I was skeptical a bit because the last time I did that, some of the base got on the new growth, causing the relaxer to not take well. Any tips on how to prevent that 🙏🏾 plz?
I use the mizani butter blend sensitive scalp relaxer and I’ve haven’t gotten a burn. I also relax my hair when it’s dirty 🫣 so idk if that helps due to all the oils and build up .
Dang, i was thinking of switching relaxers too 😅. I've used the ORS one for years and tbh, i almost never get burns. But when i read reviews about it that it makes people's hair a bit porous after a while and maybe a bit frizzy, i could see that too. But then again, imma not sure if it's necessarily that case with me. I don't own a hair straightener nor a blow-dryer, so regardless i almost never see my hair straightened. Last year was the first time i went to a salon to get my hair relaxed and the burns were BAD. The stylist used the Affirm FiberGuard Sensitive Scalp relaxer. She didn't do anything wrong, but it started burning the second it hit my scalp. I'll just see it as being allergic to something in there 😅 But i must say that i did love the results SO MUCH (sans the burns). My ends have never looked straighter 💯 And they just stayed straight, idk how. So that's why i was looking into trying a new brand. Maybe Dark 'n Lovely or African Pride.
I totally get where you’re coming from! I just recently changed relaxers, but I’m still figuring out if I’ll stick with it because my hair texture changes depending on the brand I use. I might even go back to my African Pride lol. ORS is a solid relaxer, but I’ve also noticed some people say it can make hair more porous over time. As for the Affirm FiberGuard, it sounds like your scalp might be sensitive to something in it-some relaxers just don’t agree with everyone. If you’re looking to switch, Dark ‘n Lovely and African Pride are definitely options, but finding the right one for your hair might take some trial and error. Let me know what you decide!
Never use ACV after a relaxer service. Tips: Speed is key prep your edges before your start. From the start of the application to the end, should be no more than 15 minutes max, including smoothing time. Never use the teeth of the combo to smooth only the back on the combo. Olaplex 1 goes into the relaxer base before application. The other Olaplexi you used correctly. #licensedcosmetologist
You have beautiful hair. Your sister didn’t comb out the new growth after applying conditioner? Just curious. I always felt that this action causes so much lose of hair but the hair dressers in my hood always do that
She actually did a little bit. It does help straightening up the hair, but one gotta be careful doing it that way. It's best to use the back of the comb.
Do you think going through and parting your hair in small sections and applying the blue magic to your scalp first before the relaxer would protect you from getting scalp burns? Beautiful hair, before and after your touch up!
@Butterfly8593 I was skeptical to put it in all the small sections. The last time we did, it got on some my roots, which prevented those areas to take well with the relaxer. Thank you! 🙏🏾 🥰
She did a great job. The hair looks good. but some of the hair was falling out because she was using a comb to comb the relaxer through your roots to smooth it out and you should never do that with a chemical application. With gloves, always use your fingers to smooth it out. Good job yall.
No, you're not, actually. I had a few breakage prior to this relaxer day. My previous trim 4 months prior did not remove all of my thin ends. Also, I am trying to slowly finish getting rid of my layers and have more of a blunt cut look on my hair.
I’m not relaxed but I’ve seen people pre part and twist the small sections leave the roots kind of loose to relax. As for going natural you could always be a straight hair natural getting it pressed every week or two 🤷🏾♀️.
@@josie7381 Many people are suggesting the pre-parting. I think it's a great technique for sure. Maybe I'll be a straight natural once I decide to leave relaxers one day.
Did u grease ur entire scalp using the same parts u applied the relaxer in? Or take and oil and apply to ur entire scalp before applying the relaxer… i think that helps with burns.
@@CassysHairCarehope u have less burns on ur next relaxer day! I’m not relaxed but i just learned that i have to put heat protectant on my scalp when i rollerset! I like the highest heat setting my it was killing my scalp. Now i make sure my scalp gets the heat protectant leave in too.
I’m watching this again. Ur sister is goooooooodddd. Don’t go to a stylist, change nothing. A recommendation…I’m not relaxed, so i have a lot of texture at my roots when i take down my rollersets. I use a heated round brush, like the TikTok wavy talk brush (i use a different brand that has heat settings, and i use the lowest setting 340) at my roots to take away the texture there. Doesn’t pull my hair, very gentle. I also use it as needed after a sweaty workout, i have no change in my curl pattern or breakage with this tool.
Thank you so much for watching. She did, right? ☺️But unfortunately I have to find a hairstylist because of our schedule. Is it the rounded wavytalk brush? I have it but still trying to figure out how to use it lol. I don't have the greatest skills when using these tools lol but learning for sure.
Never put the relaxer so close to scalp. It will get there as you work it in. 2. Always base scalp and hair that's not being permed to prevent over processing. 3. Never leave product on longer it will do its job and you won't get burns. 4. Please read the oleplex bottle.lastly dont rough up abd run your hair it causes cuticle damage wich can caus permanent frizz and splits and lastly, I'm just giving helpful hints k. Your hair looks great but our hair skin nails and hormones change every 5 to 7 yrs and damage can show up 6mos to 25yrs. One love
Oh ok u stretch for 16 weeks ok I’m trying to stretch but realize that stretch for so long I get a lot of shedding or breakage witch I had to cut off a lot of hair
@faysmith3798 Hi 👋🏾 Fay. Yes, sometimes it's hard. Towards the the 16 week mark, I try to do less and less with my hair to not care too much breakage. Wash days is even longer because I try to take as much time as possible, detangling.
Fay I have the same issues! I actually relax only twice a year thanks to the Revlon paddle brush dryer making my new growth much easier to manage. I just came across this channel yesterday, and I've already realized that my issues are most likely because I'm not consistent with deep conditioning; I wash my hair weekly but still let it get too dry 😩 Now I am so motivated to get off my lazy behind and put in the needed work 😅😂

You just have to make it work because at times we need someone with your best interest at heart not just money driven@@CassysHairCare

@@mcdonaldtiphange3151 Thank you 😊 ❤️
I’m watching this again.
One love
Thank you for the tips!
BEAUTIFUL
Thank you!
I just came across this channel yesterday, and I've already realized that my issues are most likely because I'm not consistent with deep conditioning; I wash my hair weekly but still let it get too dry 😩 Now I am so motivated to get off my lazy behind and put in the needed work 😅😂
A professional should trim your hair
My sister did a good job as it is. Thanks for the suggestion!
Your sister she’s wayyyyy better than professionals. Honestly. Watching your video as I’m deep conditioning my hair as well, today is my relaxer day 😂 beautiful hair girl
@chinenyedike8959 Awwww, how sweet of you to say! Thank you 🙏🏾. I pray that you have an excellent relaxer day, dear. Thanks for watching!
