Everyone is talking about how skilled they are but can we just appreciate how everyone in the room looked like they were having the time of their lives at that moment. 😳
I know this sounds hard to believe, but the live version blows this out of the water. When he launched into that impossible key, the entire Microsoft Theater jumped their feet to give him a standing ovation. It was a really special moment.
Beyoncé brings out the deep, somewhat scary aspects of love and this guy brings out the freeing pure joy of love. And I absolutely need both in my life. Amazingly done!
+PostmodernJukebox I certainly have, I absolutely love what you all are doing! tremendous job for sure! thank you for all of you behind the scenes putting the strings together to entertain us with your passion. I would love to hear yall (Cover) Officially Yours by T-pain. that's my birthday wish :)
Bro im flabbergasted, baffled, amazed, and questioning myself along with all of humanity in the same exact moment... Why has it taken this long to hear this masterpiece??
I heard him singing this live in Athens the other day and I'm still shocked by his magical performance! hope you come back next year, you are all amazing musicians, each and everyone of you!
This version is so uplifting I didn’t realise I was smiling so wide until my mouth started feeling strained- I been listening to this song for so long and how he sung it is literally how I always felt in my mind the song was really like (do I make sense anymore ? ). I’m so happy with how this song is interpreted
+Erik Torres (Fanbadila) They'd make a perfect edition to someone's late night show. I don't necessarily see them doing original songs just because it seems like they fit so many different eras of music it would be hard for them to be niched like most artist today. Late night television though would be good for them.
Seven years in and this is still my very favorite PMJ interpretation. They all look like they are loving what they are doing and the sweet little piano section at 2:55 still breaks my heart, every time. Simply amazing!
I'm realizing now that it's not necessarily how much I love Scott Bradley's excellent arrangements and the obviously good songs, but how much talent there is in these videos. The artists that are on this channel are not only incredibly talented but enthusiastic.
We’re doing a dance to this in my jazz class and we refer to it as “sexy jazz man” because every time he riffs we all die. I love the pianists fave when he jumps up the octave.
Damn their singers and bands are just far beyond than expected for a channel that has 4million subscribers, yet the quality they give deserves more than that numbers.
I love how all the musicians around him are vibing from the very first moment, looking at him with big cheesy grins, just genuinely enjoying working with a vocalist of such prowess. I imagine they were also pretty happy with how good that arrangement was, but yeah... Damn.
I'd like to state as a singer that this song is incredibly difficult for women. To men it's extra. Balanced, equalised and flexible voice. Gave me church vibes, aleluia!! Terrific job with the arrangement plus I cannot remember the last time the ENTIRE band looked completely into it
I was lucky enough to see LaVance perform this song live on tour and it was just as incredible. Was also privileged to meet him and he is such a funny, friendly, and charismatic person. A true star!
Forgive me if anything in this comment sounds racist; it's not intended to be, it's probably one of my most positive comments yet. My dad once told me that the greatest decision you can ever make in life is going to a black Baptist church, because the people there are so nice and the pastors make inspiring speeches. I immediately thought of that, because this cover is fucking awesome.
One of the reasons the PMJ versions of the songs sound better to my ears is that they use more sophisticated and complex chords than the original songs...more jazzy and fully-rendered. Also REAL instruments sound better than sequencers and drum machines! Those high notes were UNREAL! The band starts smiling at that point too!
The fact that its not computer or sound boxes to make the notes I'm sure plays a big part too. Using actual instruments trully makes a difference. I just love how clean it sounds. Thank you PMJ, this is exactly what I've been looking for. (Lover of all music)💗
I have watched this rendition countless times and I just can't get over the awesomeness that is LaVance's spectacular voice. Have seen him with PMJ live twice so far and cannot wait for the next round of shows.
i literally smiled at his first note..... LaVance's voice is so amazingly wonderful, im literally having a strong emotional reaction. i cant help but be happy watching/listening to this!
I don't usually comment on videos, but this man is a pure talent as well as a legitimate entertainer. To me, this vocalist is very reminiscent of Billy Porter. His range, as well as his flawless use falsetto notes throughout the piece give fans of not only the original, but also those of professional remixes and re-imaginings a hopeful earful of originality that this channel is known for. Please feature him on more videos.
I keep coming back to this one again and again to listen. I prefer this to the original and I just love his voice and what he puts in to the song to make it really come alive.
I know I'm way behind but I just want to thank the men with the brass and the man with the sticks and the man with the strings and the man with the keys and the man with the voice. Damn that's just how you do that.
I return to this song all the time, almost every day I listen to it. His voice, oh my stars ... my heart sings. The vocal control, the range, the exuberance in the performance, the musicians' skill and how one can see and hear that they thoroughly enjoyed the performance themselves. Love, love, _love_ this version of the song. Probably my favourite PMJ song. Please never stop creating sparkling, expertly cut gemstones from geodes. ♥

Saw this live just yesterday in Lausanne and was absolutely blown away by the talent that these guys bring to the table. I often found my self listening with my jaw dropped, absolutely speechless and clapping like my life depended on it. These guys are the best! It's sad that other people with less talent get paid more and are a lot more popular. Also, as a fan of jazz especially stride piano I'm glad that they manage to make jazz popular again.
I love how much the pianist is loving it.
He is dancing while sitting love it
