Hi, I was wondering which shoe to get. I got a bad knee injury a while ago and an bad sprain all on the same leg a little more recent. Do you think I should save to get this Osaka IDO Mk1’s or do you think I should get the Grays Flight AST Junior Shoe. I don’t know what other shoe would be better for me than these two. And I normally play on grass sometimes turf and my college that I’ll be going to is turf as well. That shouldn’t make a difference though. I want a shoe that will last me a long time. Thanks :)
Hi Aims S. Thanks for the comment. Firstly, you need to make sure you rehab yourself injuries properly in order to avoid them reoccurring. We would definitely recommend a shoe that has some good technology built into it. The Osaka IDO and the ASICS Typhoons are good examples of shoes that have been design for the movements of hockey and to give you the support required. The Grays Flight are more entry level and do serve a purpose to buyers on a budget. If you are battling with injuries then we suggest trying out a more top end shoe.
Yes for my ankle injury I had to sit out for awhile and now I’m allowed to play again and I was allowed to play with my knee injury, but just had to take it slowly. They had suggested that I all need to do is have my knee and ankle brace on while I’m playing. But I will check these out both well! Thank you so much!!

how do they compare to the Adidas Adipower shoes? I get a lot of knee and shin injuries so I need a shoe with good dampening. Are these Osaka shoes good for me?
Hey Mark. Definitely worth considering the IDO. Your injuries maybe be from the support the sole and heel cup is giving or not giving you. May also be a good idea to seek some professional advice and get some custom made insteps.
Great video, would be nice to compare the 'fit' of the shoe compared to other brands. So people know if they need to go up or down a size
That’s a good idea Jamie. Thanks. Will add it to our list of videos to do. They are pretty similar to ASICS sizing.
