Mình là dân Chợ Lớn, ngày xưa nhà kế bên kênh Tàu Hủ, ngày nào cũng nghe tiếng ghe chạy. Thích nhất là coi mấy ghe lớn đi ngang gầm cầu Chà Và. Bây giờ sống bên Mỹ nghĩ lại thấy nhớ quê quá xá chừng.
Nothing works harder than a third world diesel motor
Nothing works harder than a third world diesel motor
After half an hour watching I felt sad for the boat that missed out on getting through.
A brave captain, or one who allows his boat to be recklessly overloaded ?
Also if that thing loaded with gravel or whatever sinks at the gate, it will be an absolute nightmare to get the gate free again.
It's strangely satisfying to watch those boats fight their way upstream
😄absolutely, i watch sometimes over one hour! has something calming about it
Great video. River boat transport looks like very dangerous and hard work there. I enjoy seeing far away places, and the people who live and work there. Thank you.
OK banget video nya
just watching these boats travel all day along the river can be amazing. Especially when they tie a few barges together.
Sooo much more satisfying than Haulovet Inlet videos.
I love this Video and the Peoples who live in Florida South America They are working very hard all day. It Amazing .
Hello, thank you for watching the video!
This definitely isn't South Florida lol
What makes you think that this is in Florida South America.?
First of all Florida is in North America, not South America... Also this is very very far from North and South America, this is in Asia, I would guess Vietnam.
Thank you very much for the video. 👍🤗👍🇸🇯
Thanks.!
1:28 Amazing they also have "Action" shops in Vietnam, see plastic bag on the boat.
Boy, I would like to see inside of some of those boats. What a work out to provide goods and services, impressive hard working life.
Great video! Simple operating dam, built very rugged.
Thanks.!
@@NGUYENCHELINH I agree! I'd love to see what the living quarters are like. Please give us a few tours.
There are so many things many of these captain/owners could do to make their machines more efficient. Their worries with strong currents would be greatly decreased.
Quá hay các tài công ❤
Thank you from California! 👍
Thanks.!
I’m very curious what the barges full of soil are for? Bringing arable soil to farms?
Hello, thank you for watching the video. This boat carries sand. Its main component is sand, but it contains mud. This sand is taken from a very large river and used to fill ponds, lakes... and do some other jobs. I have a few videos on how to pump sand from a barge to the mainland, you can find it on my channel
Some of these boats are so low in the water, they look like submarines!
Nice video. Thank you for uploading.
Hello, thank you for watching the video!
Phil dong my wong❤ lop chong
Pertarungan yang sengit melawan arus air deras.....👍👍👍👍
Can't wait to see the battery powered versions of these in a few years 😆
they are very good, vastly superior to the ICE
Rifium fire might be big probrem
These barges have fascinating designs. They look very livable.
Wavy Boats heads to Haaluva Inlet. Watch Dad stuff the bow. With pottery.
Ha! I always watch your videos. I think I'm addicted to them. Love watching the Captains go against the river current and can'
t believe how the boats collide all the time. Pretty risky on that river. Pete.
Thanks.!
Some of these boats look like 1700s sailboats converted to diesel with a cabin hanging off the back.
nhìn thót tim thật
When you push the button labeled “Phuckit” 😂
Good to see hard working 💪 people
Thank you for the English subtitles! Very good content. I am subscribing from Oklahoma, USA!
Thanks.!
i love how they have modified the vessel to extend the space :D
Cornwall 🇬🇧 watching
Thanks.!
Amazing how low in the water the boats that have their cargo hulls loaded dirt/mud. There were a couple that looked like a big wake off another boat could very easily swamp and sink them. That said the water current flowing through the gate of the dam looks incredible strong. Maybe someone can answer this question what is the significance of design painted on the bow of most every boat? Have a great day and better tomorrow.
Hi, thank you for watching the video. The two white circles and the anchor painted on the front of the boats are the design of the eyes of the boat, the eyes of the boat have its own meaning. The white circle on a black background on the nose of the barge means the eyes of the barge
The boats have a double hull. The cargo compartment is sealed so if it fills with water, the boat won't sink. ANyway, it's already full of mud, which weight more than water! The critical area is at the back of the boat where doors to the living quarters are cut in the sides.
Hello, ca si che linh♥♥♥
Muito legal os caras são bom
you can tell who makes the big bucks when you hear those turbo diesels chuggin
Good channel. 👍
Tks for posting
Thanks.!

Must be a nice job to drive the boats up and down the river. maybe i should train as a captain hahaha!!
Man! If only those boats were electric 🤣🤣🤣
It would be nice to see where and how they load them and where they are unloaded.

Thanks for the info. Cheers@@NGUYENCHELINH
Maybe it would help if some of the deck crew paddled, instead of just standing around.
There are some fantastic boats there.
Just wondering, how come the heavies don't come last when the water through the gate is less?
And the unloaded boats go 1st when the water through the gate is the greatest?
Hello, thank you for watching the video. Your question is very good, it's the captain's fault.
Another great video! I am guessing that most of the boat owners live on the boat also?
Hello, thank you for watching the video. You're right, the boat owner still lives on the boat
GREAT VIDEO....
THANK YOU FOR POSTING IT
BEST WISHES
Thanks.!
22.35 is the most relaxed boat I have seen fighting that current... I spend too much time watching boats fighting currents?
Hi, thank you for watching the video.!
I recently found this channel and I'm fascinated by these different boats and this scenario. How often do these gates open, and generally for how long? Are the boats full of dirt with large pumps and tubing for dredging? How common do you think it is people are living on these boats? Many have hammocks or a little cabins.
Hello, thank you for watching the video. Depending on the day, the gates of this dam open many times or once a day and the gates are open for different short or long times during the day. The pipes will suck sand from the boat to shore. People live on boats with a maximum of 4 people
Sao họ ko mở hết cửa cống ra cho giảm lưu lượng nước nhỉ
5:00 Is this boat actually sinking? There's overloading... and then there's something else!
350hp? Wow, that boat should have at least 600hp!
No waiting, just barge right in! Greetings from Montreal!
Hello, thank you for watching the video!
its in Vietnam
Yes😊 I like the video
Thanks.!
Is it correct that later in the day the water currant through the dam is not so strong so Barges that can’t get through earlier can do it latter in the day?
Hello, thank you for watching the video. It's not like the water will flow stronger at the end of the day
I really don't think you'd want to do this. Loading up your boat to the point it will sink.
Texas watching
Thanks.!
Yayyyy! Found it. No boats there when the picture was taken but it was during this year so it's recent. Could see the large barge on the North side of the dam that is always tied up there. Very populated area with lots of agriculture. I sincerely hope that all is going well for you now. Pete
Hi, thank you for watching the video.!
😅😅😅😮😮 Ok video nya
14:28 This is very good soil for growing vegetables.
Couple of questions.... Why do them captains constantly crank on them steering wheels ? Do they not understand the concept of 'FREEBOARD ??
If you listen… that’s proof that a 6 cylinder can run on 4 working cylinders.
amazing oO
Where is this Place?
Hello, thank you for watching the video. This is the country of Vietnam.!
as many as the boat that fail to make it you would think that they would have push poles to help out and save a lot of time
Was thinking the same thing! Maybe even some sort of tug boat arrangement to assist either by pulling or pushing the loaded barges.
those are some heavy boats against very strong current. One or two crewmen on push poles are not going to overcome that.
Amazing no one uses a air horn.
It'd be cool to see the harbor/marina these guys dock up for the day/night.
Do these guys run their ships at night?
Hello, thank you for watching the video. Depending on the day, boats and barges still operate at night entering through the dam's gate
Those boats got some power.
Looks like theres a lot of cool engineering on those boats taylor made to the region.
its crazy how none of the ppl on the boats talk, to him or anyone
Why do some vessels, the heaviest ones, usually fail to go upstream at the very end of the current? Because right at the end of the crossing, the unevenness of the water causes the bow to tilt downwards and the stern, in the opposite direction, to rise. This, added to the strength of the current at this point, should cause a lot of cavitation in the propeller, promoting a marked waste of engine power. 👍
Hi, thank you for watching the video. Your question is why do the heavy cargo barges not go last
not just that... as the water is already flowing faster through the channel than they travel normally, and then the added displacement of the boat simply increases the speed of the water under them... and as per bernoullis, that just pulls them deeper in the water as its pressure reduces... which only causes the water to flow faster and suck them lower... nasty.
and the reduction in pressure then excacerbates the cavitation...
the ones that hit it with some forward momentum are all the ones that get through with the least trouble.
Good morning Vietnammmm! 🎉
2:34 when you gotta go, you gotta go! 😅
What does one of those
Barges cost.. the average size
one..
May e if they didn’t over load the boats so much it would help or has that never occurred to them!!!!
Oh!!The terrible.If I'm on the boat.May be I will heart attack and died immidaitely😮
The blue top twins need to train these guys on WFO
Empty no problems... Full 😂
Is it common to see barges overloaded with what appears to be mud?
Hello, thank you for watching the video. This boat carries sand. Its main component is sand, but it contains mud.
Looks like most of those boats are hauling clay. Am I right?

Hai, terima kasih telah menonton videonya.!
Amazing they do so well every boat sounds so underpowered.
They look like they got good power to me. That some strong current they are fighting.
would love to know what engines these boats have, im assuming old japanese or perhaps german diesels? maybe even newer chinese stuff
Which way is for gravel loading and which for dumping. We see full boats going both ways. Please answer

@@NGUYENCHELINH thank you very much. I really enjoy your videos. It's kind of addictive to watch and calming as well. I wish you could get closer views of the driver's and the wives on the boat.
That's what I'm talkin bout son. Big ass motor on a stick! 1:00
Really love watching your videos, where is this dam situated on the Mekong River ?
Hi, thank you for watching the video. This is the gate of the dam to regulate water, prevent salt water, keep fresh water, prevent flood water. The dam is named Lang The, Cang Long district, Tra Vinh province, Vietnam. Hope you can find it on the world map.
what are those heavily loaded boats carrying upstream ,it looks like soil ?

No boats sinking here. Business as usual.
