    so I can apply correction to video using IT8 target and Fuji's F-Log? My OLED screen icc profile will be taken into account or use generic color space?

      Dave i am having zero luck with this approach, i have had the Pro version for a long time. what is not being said in this tutorial? i have the Amira and Sony FS5 side by side and have just been able to extract the Amira colour to a patch but for the life of me i can not get this program to do it's job. Would love a tutorial from you on this

      Anthony, can you share those patches? I have the Pro version for a long time too, and would love to give it a try matching those cameras.

    This is an incredible tool you've created! I wish I found this sooner! Amazing work :)

    Wow, this is insane, can you confirm I could pretty accurately emulate film color profile with a scan of a color target shot on film?

    wouldn't this only work if you also had that camera to take the picture?

    EVERY Penny I paid for 3D LUT Creator is worth this feature alone!!! It really works and it's perfect. You guy love color and understand it. It clearly shows in your Application and your videos. Na Zdorovie!

    Can you match without the Color Checkers? If yes, how?

    • @martindoersch

      I think you need some kind of representative color target/chart.

    • @aerofart

      I don't see why you couldn't just use the Custom chart setting and then adjust your grid on the reference image so that the chip markers fall on various representative colors in the scene and then apply that grid to similar elements in the target image. Of course, that is less than an ideal way to do it, but it could get you close, after which, you could fine tune the adjustments. You can also do scene matching and many other ways to match shots in 3DLC.

      Yes you can. Just target skin, shitts walls etc & match if the other camera is facing the same way in same lighting conditions

    Did Davinci buy your tech?? And hire you? This seems a lot like what Resolve has now??

      Nah, they just copied from him without giving any credit

    I found that the "3DLUT" and "curves + 3DLUT" methods only work when you have a color target in the picture to work on. A custom chart that doesn't have enough variety of color or gray points will mostly fail with a lot of artifacts.

    Very interesting.
    This opens some really lovely ways to match color styles...

    Which paid version do I need to buy for these features?

    This doesn't seem to fix the fine details of the white balance, only gamma and hues.

    There are still some significant differences in color in the final images: the color of the background wall, color of the hand holding the camera, color of the shirts, color of the brim of the hat.
    the face color is so close it makes me think there's some variability in the original light source. the light output and likely the light color temperature varied between these two shots. I don't know if that explains everything though.
    With a set of properly calibrated photos from Canon and Sony this could yield some very interesting results.

      Really great video as always but agreed regarding colour differences. The checkers match really well but overall for me the Sony image is more "yellow" while the shirt is significantly different. I am wondering if there was an oversight at any point in that demo in regard to choice of colour model, eg. LAB vs HSPe? This is not meant to be a criticism in any way of the software or the video itself but it would be good to understand the reason for the colour discrepancy...

      Could be the lens choice. He's using two different lenses.

    • @RafaelPerez3D
      @RafaelPerez3D 7 років тому +2

      I think this would be taken care since the lens characteristics are 'embedded' on the color chart. Maybe for such extreme cases, a color chart like the ColorChecker Digital SG?

      I notice that too. I think it's because there are only 24 patches used, and they are all highly saturated colors. So there are not enough samples to build a 3D lut that cover the whole color space. And lower saturation colors are expected to have lower acuracy . But the result is pretty close, as close as 24 patches can get you.

    Is it possible to create a color chart to make a calibration LUT with colors of of my choosing? Which tier allowed this?

    • @agorka
      @agorka  6 років тому

      Christopher Doyle yes, you can use any colors you want, but maybe in some combinations the resulting lut can be not precise enough.

    • @christopherdoyle8081

      Oleg Sharonov Thanks for the reply, but I'm still unclear at which tier is best for me. I'm looking to do calibration LUTs on arcade hardware using their color bars on video. I know what their RGB values are supposed to be, but I do not want to spend $300 if the $100 is all I need. For what I want to do, even this is steep for me. I'm trying to create calibration LUTs for a LUT box for love video.

    • @agorka
      @agorka  6 років тому

      Christopher Doyle I'm not sure what do you mean by 'tier', sorry. If you need to create just one lut, you can create the preset, upload it to our facebook group along with the screenshot and I'll convert it to lut for you.

      Christopher Doyle oh, and if you're talking about 3dlutcreator edition, only pro version had this function.
