- Emma Hayes will be looking for win No. 2 on Tuesday when the U.S. women's national team faces South Korea in a friendly at Allianz Field in St. Paul, Minnesota.
It is the second match against the Taegeuk Ladies in less than a week for the Americans. Mallory Swanson and Tierna Davidson both scored twice in a 4-0 win on Saturday, making Hayes' debut a successful one.
The victory improved the USWNT to 12-0-4 in games against South Korea.
The 47-year-old Hayes was brought on board in November, but joined the team this week in Colorado after finishing out the Women’s Super League season with Chelsea. She’s trying to quickly learn the roster before picking a team for the Paris Games this summer.
Hayes' mission is simple: Restore the dominance to a U.S. team that’s coming off a disappointing finish in last year's Women’s World Cup. The early exit led to coach Vlatko Andonovski resigning from the U.S. team.

I love this British woman!!!! USWNT going to dominate like they did before!!!!
The USWNT were dominating inferior amateur/semi pro teams in the past! Them days are gone bud! But I expect you’ll continue to beat up on second rate teams like South Korea for the foreseeable future… So well done!!
Emma Hayes is such an inspiration. For anyone involved in any type of work. Her approach and wisdom is awesome.
because it’s about people
Inspiration and wisdom? Haha, yeah I’m sure she has.
We miss you already EMMA!!!! 💙
Chelsea will not miss her…..Sonia Bompastor will dominate one and all with her coaching ability!!
Psssst, Emma... Any chance when you play the Lionesses, you could have a VERY rare bad day?????? (she won't, she's a winner)
The only chances the lionesses will get to play the USWNT is in a pointless friendly…It’s been done, and wasn’t the most exciting of games.
@@DerekLangdonI miss when England, Germany, and France used to compete in the US's SheBelieves Cup every year. Obviously each country has branched off into their own tournaments now, but it was exciting seeing all 4 nations in my city.
I always hang on to every word Emma has to say. She’s one of the best female coach ever! but also the best speaker when it comes to honest press conferences. Fascinating to listen too. ❤️
@@jariemonah Yeah, I liked the early days of the She believes cup. It was exciting to watch. As you say time marches on.
@@loumargetts8644 I really don’t understand what you all see in Emma Hayes? She really wasn’t that good a coach at Chelsea, despite having some of the best players in Europe. It’s all hype really, and the USWNT has fallen for it.
I just hope the US, having picked a winning manager, gives her chance to be as good as they can see she can be.
Poor old Emma looks a bit malnourished. What she needs is double cheeseburger and large fries to perk her up!
Why do you dislike her so much? Because you know she’s putting the U.S. on top again? Poor you
