The USWNT is on 🔥. Rodman's a beast on that right flank. This team is seriously lit with Emma on board 👏. It's almost as if they were playing on fast-forward😃
Lily Yohannes is an ERITREAN origin .Proud of her talent and heritage. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
The goalkeeping has improved massively in the women's game over the last 5 years. Well done!
chill out it was just South Korea...
Chill out? Bell end!
Mal makes this team so much better as soon as she steps out there. Her one absolute spirit on that box to box chance was insane
"insane?"
You don't know what the word means or how to use it.
I wished she would sprinkle some of that dust on Smith to help be more effective. More often than not she misses her chances.
Lily Yohannes ❤ You made Eritrea 🇪🇷 proud ❤
Is she from Eritrea because she and her father had interview with Ethiopian tv and they said from Ethiopia
Obv it's a friendly with big line up changes and experimentation, but the difference with Rodman on, longer balls and crosses suddenly replaced with ball-on-the-ground attacks, moves and clearer chances.
Uswnt need to win Yohannes !!! Don't lose her n I'd pick the uswnt over all!! Especially having Hayes now!!
Ya she’s hot
What’s the big deal in beating South Korea? How’s about trying your luck with European teams? …..Maybe not, you’ll get slaughtered! You would have done better sticking with Twila Kilgore. In my opinion she is a far better coach than the perennial European failure, Tubby Hayes.
There’s always that one hater always being negative in the comment section no matter what. Haters gonna hate 😂🤡. They play who is available and European teams aren’t.
@@DustyBarrels464 If she is based in Europe having to play overseas during FIFA windows is a drag... and Netherlands are not chumps exactly, they have lots of young talent coming up. But from what I heard in another podcast where they made a "deep dive" in her social media accounts she had lots of posts and pics supporting the USWNT in the past
@@DustyBarrels464 Money isnt everything. Ok, it is to Americans , but not to everyone else. The Usa is a better team cough *bullshit* cough .

@@richard6440 i think she's saying that Emma Hayes has to do her magic to make sure that Lily Yohannes stays with USA instead of switching to Netherlands for her international career.
So wonderful to have Lily Yohannes (Ethiopian heritage) choose to play for USWNT. Such a bright player already at the age of 16. 🇺🇸 needs her for the future!
I think its more likely her parents made the the decision for her for obvious reasons. ET is not as lucrative as the US.
@@truegunner7223 I think the option she's considering is Netherlands where she moved when she was 10 years old. She has applied for Dutch citizenship which would make her eligible to play for them as so far she's only played for USA at friendly level. It's quite a big decision all round. Emma Hayes could secure her for USA by giving her a full cap but that would be unfair to the girl if she's not part of the long term plan and as a result misses out on the chance to play internationally for Netherlands.
Lily Yohannes is has an Eritrean 🇪🇷 heritage.

The game iq is freakishly amazing. On the Usa team? You havent watched much football then , have you ?
@richard6440 what university did you play for? You need more accolades to speak to me about game IQ. Let's talk LA Liga and EPL since you probably have nothing to offer other than stupid comments like that.
@@abrahamdabo2576 You need more accolades to speak to me about game IQ. I do ? wow. I didnt know that we had to be qualified coaches to comment on games. I saw the Usa playing the same. Running forward as fast as they could and using speed and fitness to win. Not a huge amount of game iq in that. When they start passing the ball around a lot more , waiting for a gap to appear , then slicing the other team open with a through ball , then we can carry on with this convo. That might take time. I'll wait.

The days of America being the dominant force in women’s football are over
What US did during first half with all the diagonal crosses and lack of creativity in the build up is what Chelsea has been doing for most of the season. There is always a bad clearance than they can capitalize on. Then when the game is downhill Emma Hayes' teams are ruthless. The problem for Emma Hayes' Chelsea was that when they played teams that dont make many mistakes things got harder and often folded.

Korean team dont have stamina. They should really improve on their strength
As an Korean, non care that shit
@@user-ps5se8ym8i That's why Korea should not participate at all. If nobody cares, these athletes are just overpaid amateurs because all they do is lose 10 in a row and go to some fancy foreign restaurant and then share it on social media. They don't practice. They don't have motivation. Why have this team in the system then?
Well I think the Korean team also just doesn’t have as many resources as the USWNT & other teams in the world. They just came out with a statement recently asking for a training facility, basic equipment & better travel arrangements. Their federation needs to invest more if they want to see better development of talent.

I have been in the Europe and rest of the non American football space for decades, as a fan, an athlete, and a media professional. Never have I known the term "shutout" as used in the last few seconds of this video thus, "Emma Hayes: 2nd USWNT coach to win first 2 games by shutout". Surely, it's gotta be an American thing. What does it mean, pls? Does it mean "won by cleansheets" as Peter Drury or Jim Beglin will put it? Because, why do they invent their own terms where terms already exist?
I am 64 years old and have been hearing the term "shutout" for at least 60 of them. It is hardly new. "They" (who?) certainly did not "invent" it.
shutout = cleansheets
your post = high horse
@@andrewzboard I didn't say the phrase is new in English language. I meant in the game of football, the common phrase is "clean sheet". I am just not used to it being used to describe a clean sheet in football. Hence, it leaves me wondering if this phase which may likely be more synonymous to some other more American sports is in fact a "borrowed phrase" here.
@@SylviaIkejiI think they used that term originally in baseball. Yes, it = Clean Sheet. Btw, I hate our announcers too.

Truth
Love Horan, but have to agree. She's fit's perfectly into the European game, with Lyon. But in the run and gun style of the US, she does slow things down out of the midfield.
Stop picking on Lindsey. She’s American god damn you!

I watched the full match so these highlights are trash, a gross misrepresentations of the game. Showing the tail end of the 3 goals scored and none of the build-ups play is unforgivable. You would never know that 16-year-old Lily Yohannas, in just 20 minutes put on a football masterclass announcing to the world a major superstar of the women's game had arrived. What’s the problem with the US playing kit? ….It reflects the outlandish nature of US culture.
if they take todays starting line up players to olympics ,they wont pass the group-stage matches for sure!!!.disjointed group of players!!!.
I think we know who Emma will start, its a no brainer
I think those starters were Emma’s final audition for some players like Alex. Sadly, they looked terrible out there. I think we all know what Emma is going to do now.
Good bye Alex, Rose, and Horan (if it were up to me). So much for that picture of Alex' toned body that went viral a couple weeks ago. She hardly had any impact these last 2 games (and last 4 years for that matter) to warrant being one of the 18 unless politics comes into play. Rose, once again, looks like a frail, tweedy bird out there who seems incapable of taking advantage of good opportunities. Horan has a very week core and center of gravity unlike the strong and fast women who previously played mid-field for the US. She's just too slow and Baby Huey-ish to be a great asset to the team.
Side note: Emma specifically put Dunn at right forward to take on players and make great passes in the middle to give the center forward(s) a chance to score. If she's not willing or incapable of accomplishing this task, she needs to step aside and let fresh, young players have their turn.
Absolute well said👍🏾
Agree on Morgan and Lavelle but think Horan still has a lot to offer.
Agree a little on Horan but Rose??!! Every time you watch Rose you be entertained. Let’s leave Rose in there for now she has a lot of impact.
Rose had a good chance to do something when she got a good pass in the box, and instead of turning towards the goal and let one go, she faked herself and fumbled it. She just doesn't seem to have that killer mentality she showed on her WC goal, and there are plenty of hungry players out there.
The South Korean women's soccer team is one of the weakest in Asia.Japan is overwhelmingly strong, followed by North Korea and China, and South Korea is weak that it can't even beat Vietnam or Indonesia.
America probably invited the North and South by mistake.
Well the USWNT just beat Japan so.....
They just beat Japan ……TWICE. They also beat China TWICE. They beat Vietnam even while crashing out of the WC. So…🤷
@@MKelly-pm1np s that about the U23 Asian Games? Japan is a tournament for player development where all players are under 21.
South Korea and China had almost the same rank, China was 19 and South Korea was 20, sorry.
I’m pretty sure the purpose of these friendlies was for the USWNT to practice breaking down a low block (which they had issues with against Vietnam in the WWC). Rankings aren’t enough for determining which competition is “best” to invite when different teams give different experiences.
@@user-zt1kz5df7t Not sure how the U23 Asian Games are relevant to this discussion. But for context, we also have a very young core in this rebuilding era.
Regarding friendlies, either you find willing invitees within close proximity, or you find countries that are outside of your region, available & willing to travel. Right now, the europeans are trying to qualify for the Euro’s. That leaves, Asia, Africa and Concacaf&Conmebol teams.
Do you not play a team because they are lower ranked? That would be silly.
The purpose of the friendlies is to work on YOUR own tactics.
The only top 10 countries in our region are Canada# 9, (Olympic Champions)and Brazil #10. And we also beat them twice this year.

They're ranked 20th and could be a ton of teams ahead of them... Look at the Womens Euros with teams lower than South Korea.
you can’t organize games against England or Spain because they are currently playing euro qualifiers South Korea isn’t great but there could be worse choices, that being said it isn’t much of a test
They aren’t available atm because of Euro qualifiers
People aren't so much celebrating that the US won against South Korea as celebrating that they didn't look like sh*t the entire time while still getting the expected win. They won but looked terrible and joyless in friendlies against Wales and China right before and after the World Cup, and trust me, no one in the US was celebrating those wins.
These two wins were still rough around the edges but with very obvious improvements in both the coaching and the players available and selected.
