Well this sucks, I don’t have friends who play the game, using the SOS flare as my easy means of co op. Trying to get a group of random people to join together in the hub is crazy difficult. Even in a full server people are out on quests already, don’t have nice to make it easier to ask to join up, or otherwise ignore you...I feel I won’t be able to do this with a team as intended.

I think crit draw bow + partbreaker skills will be very useful against this monster. For bow users, probably sld take note of uragaan waist.

A HBG wyvern fire partbreaker build would be good since hes so large you can spam it upward without interfering with mates

No, I think it is more like Boring Magdaros and Boring'jiiva, they appear on your quest list for a limited time.
Naa, it's not like Zorah or Xeno, it is a limited time event quest, it'll be available for a bit, then it'll rotate out. But they haven't said how frequently, so we might not have to wait long between when it returns :)

To answer your statement about mounting KT (or Katie as I call her, lol) You can mount her normally, I was able to mount her (giggity) within a couple minutes of the first area, then again in another instance in the stalactite area. It is a typical "spam triangle+finisher" type of mount. You just have to have REALLY good luck and timing I think.
Of the 2 times I've mounted her, it was on the high point of her back. After that I just moved to her face and had fun.
On a side note, to all the people saying "it's a gold plated great jargas", you guys need to look up Ludroth from MH3U, same movements, same attacks almost. She is the Ludroth Goddess.

Insanitywelcome nah they planed this from befor. There will be a payed dlc tho an it would be g rank. Plue some games give huge dlcs that an never be free unless the company likes throwing away money.
monster hunter has always been this way, free DLC. I don't mind paying $40-$60 bucks for the G-rank DLC. this game is actually cheap for $60. I already got my money's worth. money well spent. what else is there to complain about?
Jose Fernandez mh never had free dlc. It was locked content that was unlocked with a download key. those free monsters in past games were already in the game files.
Nah this game wasn't worth $60 it should be cheaper and I'm saying this as someone who loves mh and mhw. Not paying $40-$60 for g rank bc that's literally the price of a whole new game for what? Just G rank and maybe a new monster or 2? The High Rank didn't even have new moves or anything just slightly "stronger". Not worth that much tbh no matter how much I love the game.
Ducki first of you dont know how mh is developed second. G rank would be two versions. 1 an expansion for those who have the game an 2 a full complete rerelease for those whp dont have the game yet.

Don't forget the great game changing fixes they're gonna add with this 3.0 update. Like the flashpod effectiveness but one of my favorite would be the better rewards for tempered monsters !

Aionois Asmiroth you're right, but it'd give people something to grind towards and would give those that reached it some content to do. My only worry is that either the fight will be too easy or that hr 16 will end up carting over and over again...
I'm hoping they do release a tempered version for hr 100+ tho.

Aionois Asmiroth I haven't played monster hunter since the first day tempered jho came back. I'm sitting at hr 125 bored because content is so easy (including tempered jho that I use no items on). I know I'm in the minority, but there are others like me that quit playing because content is too easy. We are waiting for some real difficult raid like content so it would be nice for those of us who have reached this point.

Relic weapons were weapons that had different stats including but not limited to: damage, element, sharpness and affinity. If I remember correctly the first time I saw them were in Monster Hunter 4

Awesome! I can't wait to kill it 100 times and end up drowning in relics of weapons I don't use, without even a single bad relic of my main. Assuming I can even kill it once a day solo, since I keep getting error messages when I try to go online for more than 5 minutes.

A note - you get the Deviljho quest without having beaten Xeno'Jiva. I know because I've still not gotten there yet. I have killed Nergigante, however, and am working through the Elder Dragon trio currently but Deviljho showed up *immediately* after the update while I was still tracking down the three Dragons.
Oh great...i know where this is going. 100+ lfgs looking for players with specific builds and research levels to min max the piss out of this. I understand wanting an effective team...but everyone wants way too much and hates you if you come up a little short. But i will be damned if that stops me from getting my shiney boi.
Aaron Anderson I don't see that happening with 16. It's too much effort to build a team that big whilst still retaining time so people will likely be less strict.

Aaron Anderson Ugh, I can only imagine considering how much of the same crap was in Destiny lfg. There are good people out there though, so don't discredit it completely because of the bad apples. Sadly if they kept the hub system similar to 4U/Gen but with the 16 player limit , this would not even be an issue, but I guess we can't have everything.

Meh, this game in particular is more friendly with that. Despite what a lot of people say, I rock the Jho armor and do amazing with it, potential procs often, I break a lot of parts, and I don't faint unless I'm cocky.

Sniff what they're probably doing is we keep repelling her at these limited missions and she retains the damage. Shell start off gold, move onto another metal and so on and so forth until we fight her at her prime which I can see being either platinum or diamond. Once she's at her strongest we'll be able to kill her officially and how quickly we do that will depend on how much damage she has endured throughout all these events.

Arrekz, Correction: Deviljho appears after pink rathian (HR 13 I think) Kulve Taroth is HR 16 after Xeno.
So what happens if two or more teams go for the same part? When it breaks does the part just magically disappear or something?

I can just imagine it. You're winding up your greatsword to deliver the final chop to slice off his tail then *pop* Somebody else gets the hit first and you whiff your attack.
Lol I don't think it'll work like that. I'm assuming since it's an already created session, you'll still be able to attack and break the part, but the team that did it fastest within that similarly started session (in terms of time) would get the rewards for breaking. Or maybe capcom thought of that ahead of time and just gives both team the reward.
dale knox What i meant was that you'll still be able to attack and break the part even when it's already destroyed in another session, my bad. I don't know if you've played it, but warframe has a similar system with their alcolytes. If you join the mission and it's killed before you have a chance at defeating it for THAT session, nothing happens, you're still able to continue the fight but as soon as you exit, the mission would be gone. I'm terrible at explaining so i apologize if you don't understand.
I like the part when she is wearing her golden coat, her body style structure is similar to that of Great Jagras and Dodogama. But in the last stage it changed into Zinogre like body style structure.

This monster is amazing. Golden dragon, the only way to gather materials for armor is by collecting the shiny drops, which leads to many hunters getting greedy and paying more attention to the drops instead of dealing damage. Feels like we are hunting a western traditional dragon (the one that hoards treasure):D Had so many cases where someone gets carted because they are crawling all over the floor trying to get the shinies:D

16 player monsters sounds awesome.. but splitting qroups up is kind of stupid. If i dont even see the other groups whats the point? so group A is going to do 99% of the damage to a body part and then group B is going to break it by hitting it once and get more rewards??? I dont care if its the same monster everyone is fighting. they are trying to advertise this as a 16 player monster when its simply not.
I too am concerned about the "whoever breaks the part gets better rewards" part of this. Basically forces everyone to use part breaker and race against the other teams, and kind of makes me want to do this with just a single group of 4, so no one else is stealing my rewards.
Also, you're right, the breaking isn't as important as which team did the most part damage imo.
It's more of a cumulative thing. Every mission that's done contributes to a pool at the end in addition to the actual mission rewards.

I have played all 300+ hours solo. I'm not going to have time to play this, at least not until I have finished God of War, which I assume will take 30-40 hours. Imagine this can be hard with randoms. I do want the armor, and perhaps some of the weapon (but I feel I have enoguh weapon).
I'm kinda tired of MHW after farming Deviljho for two weeks, and not get a single Hero Streamstone for Axe (got 3+ for every other weapon, not a single Hero for the weapon I play the most with).
Olyphantastic the new update includes higher drop rates for hero streamstones so you're in luck!
I think the game is programmed to give you streamstones for your least used weapons. I start using whatever weapon it gives me hero streamstones for so it gets confused

I have played hundreds of hours solo.
I have accepted about 10 to 15 guild cards but whatever they have to do they don't accept me back.
I thought the community wad suppressed to be welcoming but on my experience no one will accept a stranger which is very disappointing.
Considering no one i know plays this game and its possibly my favourite i feel a bit stuck.
So no carving and killing it like dahren or jhen....ok pretty cool raid mechanic but the reward factor of killing it is really satisfying to kill a behemoth

I feel like all the “giant elder dragons” in the series are getting redundant. They’re all slow, lumbering, stumpy, 4-legged things. Kulve Taroth, Jhen Mohran, Dahren Mohran, Akantor, Ukanlos, (and to a lesser extent) Zorah Magdaros, and Nakarkos. I really liked Gogmazios and Dalamadur because they were very different from the norm.
I’d appreciate if in the future, capcom would make giant elder dragons that looked like apes, insects, bears, etc.

They are improve versions of the current weapons in the shop but with gold style, and the higher the rarity the better the weapons stats or in universal game term godly stats if you can get the good ones.
The fact we have these siege type missions now makes me think they might bring in monsters like Lao Shan Lung and Yama Tsukai
And here I am a lonely solo hunter because my wallet can't afford a PS+ TwT

You could say the Fire and Ice Dual Blades are pretty good for this. Amazing DPS
So you can't realisticly solo it because it doesn't scale, and it's not a permanent monster anyway. As a 95% solo Hunter I may as well not even bother. It's pretty disappointing.
High rank monsters never scaled to solo in the past, so maybe it's possible

Veno I completely agree. It's crazy how this is not a permanent rare quest. I get they want the number of players to go up but as a fan and vet, this is not the way to do it.
I don't want any relation between destiny's try hard and toxic community to MHW's helpful community. It should be allowed to get this quest offline (once you get the update online), it should be rare and it should last a week each time you randomly get the quest so you have the opportunity to get the random rewards.
Hopefully they add permanent monsters for offline play.
If you want to get one shot all the time, solo kulve is the best
Its like the Golden Ram from Jason and the Argonauts I really like it.
So I wanted to familiarize myself with the fight before jumping into someone else's guild hall. I finished downloading the update an hour after it released. Finished soloing the whole quest, minus one objective (breaking his back?), like 30 minutes ago. Almost 7 hours... Cool quest, never soloing it again lol.
This monster looks really fun to battle and the rewards seem to add reply value. Though I would be lying if I said not having the quest as a permanent download was a good idea.

So basically this is a world boss, That's pretty cool. And happy to see this type of mode being incorporated in the game.
If they add Fatalis I want to gather tracks like "severed arm" so they can basicly explain to new players that Fatalis can regenerate his body to an even more extrem level than Nergigante because I doubt that they would bring the giant Greatsword from pokke to Astera (although that would also be very cool)

This quest reminds me of the Skeleton Dragon from Dragon's Dogma, in the sense that you have teams you can't see taking it down.
This resembles events such as those than appear on a regular basis that Eastern MMOs tend to do.... mainly for experienced and dedicated players to have for them so that they can collect rare things to show off. NICE

I think this actually adds a competitive aspect to the game because now you have to try to break let's say the horn, first for let's say the armor
Gold didnt weak to thunder. They are simply great conductor.
However ironically, the monster recieve a lot of lighting.
I really hope the armor has good skills on it. I could walk around in that shiny gold armor forever! 😍
Definitely gonna build a scholar build to see if it will help boost my research levelling for it as well, I'd be really surprised if it doesn't.
Im fine with picking up tracks for a new monster; but farming tracks for tempered investigations is just flat out tedious. We need to be able to get them by breaking tempered monster parts & killing/capping them.

This is cool yo. But to be honest I just want Barroth and Jyratodus Hunting Horn. A rare orange and brown Dungbeetle (that's just a tad bit bigger than normal). And a Hardwood weapon tree for the weapon.
P.S. also an option to completely turn off scoutflies
I fucking LOVE the fact that they made this raid style boss. Still think it's kinda disappointing that it's not a standard raid format where two teams are working together in the same instance. I've always wanted to try that in MH.
It is a regular mount, you can stay on his head and he'll smash his head into the wall, not sure if this does damage to his horns or not, if you are successful with the mount he will go down for free melee combo to the horns.
@Arekkz Gaming you can mount the monster, just did it with my Insect Glaive
Size and movement-wise, plus what looks like fire element attacks... reminds me of Dire Miralis actually (if Dire Miralis stayed on all fours more often). So not a super massive elder but nearly a super massive. The scale of Xeno is similar.
Also, I look forward to hearing the full extent of this monsters unique battle music. This game has had some great battle music.
I thought when it said 16 players i thought 16 people would be in the quest. And that would be AMAZING BTW!
With this new mechanic of a boss raid I hope they bring back some of the giant Elders like Dalamadur or Jhen.

If another team breaks a part I get (reduced) rewards on that piece, but I'm guessing that's just an added bonus in the end, right? It's not like when another team breaks a claw mine will suddenly blow away and I'll be left shaking my fist like "DAMMIT YOU SCREWED MY LOOT!"
So... Technically we can break reward and an additional three smaller rewards per part? If that is so, this is hype! It'd be nice if at the reward screen it said "Break by another team reward" so I can give an invisible toast to my unknown brethren when I pick my loot.
Even tho I really want Zinogre and Nargacuga back in the game, it's still so refreshing to see a completely new monster
I loved relic weapons in 4U, this is gonna be good. Hope I can get better water and thunder-element charge blades.
