In Nigeria noodles is called indomie because the first company that started noodles products in Nigeria was Indomie so the guy is correct Toothpaste - MacLean or close-up
Why is it that every time there is a conversation about Nigeria in social media, some ignorant Igbo person who doesn’t represent all the Igbos would turn the conversion into ethnicity sentiments in an effort to sow division amongst Nigerians. The Nigerian gentleman that was interviewed never in all he has said, try to put one ethnicity over the other. He treated the Nigerian question as a patriotic Nigerian he is, and not as a tribal bigot. We didn’t even know that he was from Kaduna and a Moslem until he was asked. Why can’t we all love this great country Nigeria that has much potential to be great if we put her first.
the school I went in Nigeria, we were thought not to memorised but learn it... in fact your teacher fail you if they detect memorisation .. so speak for yourself bro
Listen, if one or two cases defer from the hundreds who do it, does it make it a lie? Everything the guy said in the interview is expressly the truth and nothing but the truth... Are you saying you were not taught the times table chants and some other things in the school you claim to have attended back in Nigeria? If not, then you must be one of these Gen Z who attend a much recent school that is doing something unique by teaching our kids the modern way of learning... In my days and I talk about the 80s and 90s, memorizing was 60-80% of how we were taught... So when he said that, he was actually right and speaking for about 90-95% of kids who went to school in those years... So, you should speak for yourself. Edited: And in order to support his claims further, go look for an interview of Israel Adesanya by Joe Rogan where Izzy narrated how he was taught in class back home and how he found it funny when he got to NZ and kids had to crack their brains to do simple calculations like 2x6 and 3x8, while back home those were simple numbers every child is taught to chant about until they master them. So how is that not a memorizing pattern?🤷🏼♂️😳

MESSAGE TO ALL: Please note that this assumption that one can make a lot of money doing business in Nigeria (such as MTN) is highly due to the following factors: 1). The dumb political class who have little desire to protect the citizens- (especially if their palms have been greesed), have not bothered to actively regulate business activities in the country. As a result, a lot of exploitation of the masses takes place unhindered; 2). Given the above condition, MTN imposed absurd rates on its consumers (who had little or no better alternative to turn to). So, when we say MTN made a lot of money, that was due largely to the exploitation of the masses who were hardly protected by their government.

Some Ghana citizen overtures prompted me to reply: our last census was in 2006, figure that out and we were 140M+ then, you can guess the value 22years later, Lagos Nigeria GDP as at 2021 : $102 billion (nominal), $267 billion (PPP) and Ghana GDP as at 2023: The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Ghana was worth 76.37 billion US dollars in 2023 , according to official data from the World Bank. and that's a single city in Nigeria with population similar to yours. 2021 versus 2023. As this youtuber said. Nigeria is not even competing with Ghana or any other country, it's just a sport to amuse ourselves with jollof war with Ghana. One thing Africans should know about Nigeria is that even if they are placed in the US they will out-compete the citizens over there simply because expectations is placed in each individuals from Nigeria and they are built to compete and excel. for real, Limited Resources, Overpopulation, Leaders who don't care, Family pressure etcetera, you must succeed or die succeeding!
The statistics you are providing here is only in your head, it is not borne out by any statistical domain. If you want to check the truthfulness of your lies, Google the GDP per capital between Ghana and that of Nigeria. Ghana has higher GDP than Nigeria, Ghana$6500 compared to Nigeria $5395, so how can Lagos alone has higher GDP than Ghana. The standard of living in Ghana according to Human development Index (HDI) is0.639 whilst that of Nigeria is 0.539. Ghanaians we don't brag like Nigerians but we are more developed than Nigeria in every sphere, electricity, water, Education health care and security
@@andrewcoker8741 and about your electricity, It's better to start complaining and protesting maybe they will be back to it once steady rate. We use generator most of the times here and sometimes we create our own electricity for complete communities, before it's worse like here. it's better to stop decieving yourself and complain to your leaders, maybe they'll do it for you. I'll be expecting your links and data comparing Lagos and Ghana, because obviously there's no comparism between Nigeria and Ghana.
@@pilgrimemmanuel.6148 Don't worry about our electricity, we have a listening government and we have been assured the temporal electricity challenges the country is facing will be over by the end of April. Another 2,000megawatts of power from sola energy will come on stream very soon and we will have an excess 1800 megawatts of electricity. As far as the GDP lies you tried to pull off here, goggle GDP for Nigeria, it will give you $472.6billion for the year 2022 and this GDP is for a population of 250 million. Ghana GDP for a population of 32 million for the same year is $73.77 billion, this shows that on average Ghana has a better gdp and our standard of living is better than Nigeria, no argument about that. We as Ghanaians don't see Nigeria as our competitor and not a template we are trying to emulate, we are gunning for countries doing better than us and not the Zoology Republic of Boko Haram
Bros, sorry to disagree with you on just one point: Nigeria Is far from being over-populated. We aren't over-populated,instead we have a large population and every country on earth that has a large population has 50% of chances to become industrialized and Nigeria Is on the way to industrialization. A population of 230 million is not too much because those 230 million folks aré really 230 million mouths to feed but It Is 460 million (230×2) hands to work with. We need to put those 460 million hands to work optimally. Our population Is our strength and we're loving It.
The number of Nigerians in the US was down to Oil, education and Biafra war. From JFK’s government Nigeria was courted as a prelude to the entry of the US oil majors: Gulf Oil, Texaco, chevron and Mobil. Folks who could not pass the Nigerian matriculation exams found schools in the US and lastly the US admitted victims of the Biafra war.
And as usual, any Nigerian could have claimed to be those victims when they are not, just as some people claim to be Boko Haram refugees when they are not!!!

@@sholaoduba2540Shola! Shola!! Shola!!! How many times did i call you?😂😂😂😂 I live and work in Montreal Canada and i can tell you that the criticism we dish out against the Nigerian education system Is largely unverified, unjustified and untrue. Our criticism Is due to lack of knowledge on how other education systems work or function. The gruelling process that Nigeria's education system drills into a person Is thoroughly in our favour and serves a great purpose. Nigerians stand out of the crowd in any society, education wise due to the system that encourages pupils and students to use their mental faculties to commit things to memory. Tell me,what does a child/student need to use his/her brain for without memorizing texts and contexts? Wetin the pikin wan take him brain do? That Nigerians aré excelling effortlessly in foreign universities ought to signify to us that we're getting something right. To commit things to memory Is the GREATEST part of learning and thanks be to God we aré educated that way. It Is said that 80% of the human potential can be found in cemetaries and burial grounds, just because 80% of the human potential Is unrealized at death. In other words people have ideas that would have elevated them and mankind but they NEVER actualize such ideals and so It dies with them. I am a middle-aged Nigerian and i'm supremely happy and proud that the education system in Nigeria taught me how to memorize. Why do you think those with an acute memory aré those the world's intelligence agencies aré hunting to recruit? Committing things to memory Is a virtue that's as good as It Is rewarding. 7 or 8 years old Pikin wey no fit recite 2 times table na Pikin be dat?😂😂 Do you now understand why you'll ask an American or Canadian child of 10 years old to recite to you the 9 times table and he/she will be looking at you like Lucozade?😂😂 The problem in Nigeria's education system is the inacessibility of books, laboratory equipments and sound teachers. As for the tertiary institutions, one problem that must be tackled, like a national emergency Is the issue of sexual harrasment.(I speak of a Situation where male lecturers practically blackmail students with failure if they refuse sleeping with them. It's demeaning and wicked. A stop has to be put to It. Lecturers found culpable must be fired immediately and instantly prosecuted to serve as a lesson for other "papa Ajasco" lecturers to see and know.

We as Nigerian are too prone to flattery. The Nigerian reputation is over hyped because when you come to Nigeria to see our supposed greatness there is none in evidence. Poverty reigns, chaos, corruption, insecurity, people want to leave the country. We are a mess, tribalistic to the extreme. Honestly we are nothing to emulate. We are a failure as a nation with 60 years of oil wealth gone to waste - we have nothing to show for it. Our education system is a mess and low standards with some graduates struggling to strong a grammatically correct sentence together. Our education system does not encourage critical thinking and is out of step with what a modern developing nation needs. We have a bad reputation and it's not because of our size of population but because we carry this negative aspects of our culture and export it with us when we go abroad.
😢He's not a Nigerian, he's probably a Ghanaian. We know them. Listen,I live and work here in Montreal Canada and if you ask the writer of the comment if he's ever left Nigeria he's tell you "No". You see Nigerians who speak this way aré the lowest of the low. Check this same fellow 30 years from now and you're gonna see that he's still not successfull. I,for one, used to think like him (although less bitter) and my opinión of my own country was not so good but thanks be to God that i have now seen and known. Even at the rate Nigeria's going, there's a clear light at the end of the tunnel. The commentator has probably NEVER left Nigeria so he's not aware of things outside Nigeria. Not his fault though because they're many Nigerians who will lay their country down and demand that his country be executed due to his ignorance and illiteracy. By the time he leaves Nigeria he'll probably know better. He sounds like some one who's left school and Is finding It tough getting a job. People with a dirty mouth tend to be as uncouth as the remotest of bushmen ever!!! Nothing ever😅 works for them and they're just good for the dustbin.
Nigeria - more population, more poverty, more education, more travels, more crimes, more good people, more bad people. It is the population thing! That is all. But a region of Nigeria became more educated than the rest over 50 years ago and the rest quickly stepped up.
HELLO THERE HE IS ACTUALLY A PROFESSOR.
ALRIGHT?
the school I went in Nigeria, we were thought not to memorised but learn it... in fact your teacher fail you if they detect memorisation .. so speak for yourself bro
You are right but majority do.

This indeed is a very interesting and insightful conversation, I am a Kenyan living in TX. There is a lot of Africans in TX and they tend to be successful , some of them very successful. I have very close Nigerian friends, one of them and I are married into the same family ( our wives are African but not from East or West). Nigerians are a very welcoming and respectful people. Talking about our population, why is that the population of India, Pakistan, Indonesia and Brazil doesn’t affect their people like it affects Nigeria
MESSAGE TO ALL:
Please note that this assumption that one can make a lot of money doing business in Nigeria (such as MTN) is highly due to the following factors:
1). The dumb political class who have little desire to protect the citizens- (especially if their palms have been greesed), have not bothered to actively regulate business activities in the country. As a result, a lot of exploitation of the masses takes place unhindered;

I don’t agree with the backward claim to Nigeria educational system. It’s backward yet Nigerians who graduate from a Nigerian university with a pass or 3rd class graduate from American universities with distinction.
My argument to this claim is that, it’s a dog eat dog system! The educational bodies do not want you to do well even when you’re doing your utmost best
I think he is right. The educational system in Nigeria has been broken for decades but like he said, that same system pushes you to excellence.

I live and work in Montreal Canada and i can tell you that the criticism we dish out against the Nigerian education system Is largely unverified, unjustified and untrue.
7 or 8 years old Pikin wey no fit recite 2 times table na Pikin be dat?😂😂
Do you now understand why you'll ask an American or Canadian child of 10 years old to recite to you the 9 times table and he/she will be looking at you like Lucozade?😂😂
The problem in Nigeria's education system is the inacessibility of books, laboratory equipments and sound teachers.

Nigeria - more population, more poverty, more education, more travels, more crimes, more good people, more bad people. It is the population thing! That is all. But a region of Nigeria became more educated than the rest over 50 years ago and the rest quickly stepped up. Break up Nigeria into average population of other African countries, let us see if you're still saying each is greater
