Neo Zeon engineers: "Ok Mr. Aznable, we want you to pick between these two designs. Do you want us to build you the Nightingale, or the Sazabi?" Char: "Why does the Nightingale have a massive co-?" Neo Zeon engineers: "We-we'll go and start work on building the Sazabi..."
Saddly, it's not gona happen, the unveil of the Hi Nu Ver. Ka was the reason for the Re/100 line, they needed a Nightingale in 1:100 scale, and the MG wasn't an option, if you check the dates, the Hi Nu and the Nightingale were launch close to each other
Some designs grow on me over time (rg zeong) but bloody hell, this thing’s just ridiculous! I could never imagine buying this lobster but I do appreciate that they released it for someone who will.
Regarding the two markings that were originally yellow (the one on the left side of the chest and the left front skirt), the reason why they're white is because this HG Nightingale looks to be specifically modeled after the Nightingale in the Beltorchika's Children manga from a few years ago. Those specific markings were white in the manga. The design of the vents on the front skirts and the more angular design to the shoulders and wing binders are also taken from the manga. There's probably more differences, but those are the most obvious differences from what I can see. The RE/100 Nightingale is more faithful to the original design, though that kit is absolutely inferior to this HG. If I didn't already own the RE/100 Nightingale, I would definitely go for the HG over the older kit. This HG is such a massive improvement over the RE/100, fixing many of the gripes I have with the RE/100.
Agreed, the nightingale was very easy project to finish for me but getting that kit to pose in anyway other than stand there menacingly was a nightmare. If I had known that they would have released an updated hguc nightingale, would instantly buy this over the re100. Btw, you ever had problems with the calf armor?
Char: Amuro, we've finally meet in the battlefield. Prepare to die! Amuro: ....Is that a big front skirting armor on your MS or are you just happy to see me? Char: ...... Amuro: That's just a front skirting armor, right? Char: :)
I LOVE the proportions of this kit. I recently read the revival of zeon manga and all of the ms designs have very similar proportions to the nightingale, huge skirt armor, tiny hands and long arms.
I always thought that this is actually the combination of Zeong, The-O and Qubeley, given that those three are the final of 3 OG protagonist newtype. The big thruster on the back give me the vibe of the Zeong, the alien look is qubeley vibe and the sub-arm is the THE-O
I know they were used by multiple suits between 0079 and CCA, but I always say the bits/funnels being used by both Char and Amuro as one of their links back to Lalah and her death in the Elmeth.
I agree and like that about the Nightingale, and think it represents Char in CCA a lot better than the Sazabi. Zeon was the side that pioneered mobile suits in the first place and understood their potential to change the battlefield, with the Federation starting out far behind due to their engineers and strategists mostly seeing them as mere "bipedal tanks," and even once they got their shit together, you could still see a, perhaps, "limited by gravity" design ethos in their boxy and strictly humanoid mobile suits. Zeon, meanwhile, always made radically advanced, somewhat monstrous-looking mobile suits that fully embraced the potential of hyper-mobility and close combat dominance in space. so, therefore, Char, the main pioneer in mobile suit space combat, in taking Zeonism to its most radically genocidal and personality-driven extremes in CCA, deserves a mobile suit that takes the zeon design ethos to its extreme, too, and that's exactly what the nightingale is. alien, excessive, covered in so many funnels it can only be piloted by a newtype, and covered in so much red it can only be piloted by THE Newtype (as Char sees himself), its just absolutely perfect. I don't even like Char as much as some people, but if the Nightingale doesn't perfectly fit Char Aznable's vision of himself, warfare, and the future of spacenoids, I don't know what does.
Always loved the Nightingale over the Sazabi. Got the RE/100 Nightingale as my first 1/100 scale kit and every MG kit I built after it looks miniature to me.
Mandatory post explaining symbolism between Nightingale and The O: Quattro opposed Paptimus, mentoring Kamille, and hoping for a better future for Newtypes. Following Gundam Zeta's ending, next time he appears he pilots a monstrous suit, in size and appearance. Even sports the fender arms like The O, drawing parallels between Casval in CCA and Paptimus, not to mention Char using Quess like Paptimus used Sarah.
I’m hoping it won’t be too much effort to modify the RG effect parts to fit on the weapons of this kit. I got a spare set of beam effects from the RG Sinanju that I’m hoping to use for this.
Nah, it's all practicality. For the psychoframe to work right, the main body pieces need to be as proportional to the pilot as possible you see. So it's not forward armor, they just had to frame out Char's massive dick for the suit to work best.
I went crazy over the Nightingale HG gunpla a few years back and I've finally bought one, built it immediately in only two days and turns out ridiculously alien and psychologically menacing, more like a "space lobster-alien insect hybrid"! Now I can pitted against my old HG Hi-Nu Gundam in the battle of Axis scenario which depicted in the novel/manga, Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack- Beltorchika's Children.
Love that Char was so dedicated to this being his final dance with Amuro on the battlefield that he came out in a Mobile Suit that looks like a ball gown.
Given the size and the cost of this thing, I can understand the grading. It definitely doesn't feel like something you want casually (unless you love the MS), but it *does* strike me as a worthy crown jewel of your 1/144th collection.
I got lucky and copped an RG hi nu from HLJ for retail and I HAD to get it's counterweight (literally this thing could be used for arm curls) to complete the set since I got a HG nu and sazabi too

Congrats for 300k subs! And gosh that Nightingale have that HUGE AS-PERSONALITIES. Spooky is always be that cool buddy to be with when building Gunplas🤩
I bought this for $80 just now and can’t wait for it to arrive. After seeing your video on the HG Kshatriya and deciding to flat coat mine while building, the huge surfaces of the binders and buttflap of the Nightingale also look like prime candidates for a flat coat. It should also do a nice job of covering the stress lines you usually get in large moulded pieces like the Kshatriyas binders.

I think the price is quite good considering what it is, a model kit that uses a lot of plastic and color separation. Goodsmile charges around 40-60 bucks for its kits and those are around the size of HG and usually have very basic articulation.
Got mine the other day and DAYUM is it BIG! Every time i looked at it on my display table i couldn't help chuckling at the sheer size of this lad. The RE/100 is bigger but harder to find and generally a kinda weak kit.
that's just unwieldy chunks of plastic the sheer presence, gigantic size, made anyone either in awe or shivering in anticipation, but is it guaranteed satisfaction? 😏 i mean the model kit
The reborn 100 is amazingly huge BUT after a few years mine began to fall apart easily and using glue to tightening it up didn't help at all due to how cheap it felt, I recommend if you buy it glue it into one solid piece.
I've been seeing those Gun Primer things around a lot lately (as well as similar "gate removal" tools) and was wondering if they were any good. I'm glad to see that despite it's bulk, it's got very nice parts separation. I was expecting stickers galore for those thrusters.
im super excited to build this monster. I just ordered it be here in 12 days, ill be drooling over it through Mechas video till then reminds me of some sort of space Ferrari
After hearing you say how much ASS Nightengale was holding up I had to go and buy one. WORTH IT, the shelf presence is nuts, I'm actually working on suspending it from the ceiling with clouds and plastic effects.
have been waiting for some time to actually watch all of this video and My final verdict is I need it to display with my RG Hi Nu gundam! thanks for the review. I'm way late on this video but I definitely appreciate it a lot!
I ordered this from HLJ within a couple days of the pre-order popped up on their site yet by this point I still haven't gotten my order fulfilled and it's marked as on backorder :( really sucks
The Re/100 Nightingale is HUGE! Not as big as the Dendrobium or Neo-Zeong, but it is close to the Deep Striker... not as big, but close. I can't fit it into any of my current model cases (building new ones atm). I also painted the whole thing in Metallics, and it looks fantastic! Its worst feature are its hands. They have all-working fingers, which is normally great, but the wrist and finger-palm joints have no strength whatsoever, and with such a massive weapon, the hands can barely stay together to hold it. The shield is better, since it fits onto the forearm, not the hand. This RG version has a lot more articulation than the Re/100 version, which is almost a brick.
@@Gunpla_shrimp i mean like try to look at the head behind the mono-eye there is a ball on there, i check some google images and its the cockpit like the Sazabi, or like the MK-II there is a Red ball signifying the 360° monitor. My point is the Physical/Lookalike cockpit is like the 360° monitor ball in Mobile Suits
Given that the box itself is as large as a PG, I can't imagine it would make sense to make the MSN-04II Nightingale as an RG. This is similar to how it has a RE 100 release instead of an MG release. If you get the RG RX-93-ν2 Hi-ν Gundam, the HGUC MSN-04II Nightingale will look good side by side. The HGUC MSN-04II Nightingale being ¥7,000 is pretty much because of how much plastic is included with this; not to mention the massive box size. So Bandai probably did add a 'tax' of sorts to account for the shipping size & weight as well as the massive amount of plastic. They also needed to account for the fact that there's no P-Bandai variant they can reuse this for; besides the usual things like special coating, clear kits, etc.
@xxnike629xx Still wondering why you're still *WASTING* time and effort on UC stuffs despite your sheer hatred on 'em. After hearing you say how much ASS Nightengale was holding up I had to go and buy one. WORTH IT, the shelf presence is nuts, I'm actually working on suspending it from the ceiling with clouds and plastic effects.
I'm legitimately glad we've got the Sazabi as the main MS in Char's Counterattack
have been waiting for some time to actually watch all of this video and My final verdict is I need it to display with my RG Hi Nu gundam! thanks for the review. I'm way late on this video but I definitely appreciate it a lot!
having a build segment is an awesome idea
This Mobile suit/armor looks as if someone had soaked the Sazabi in Mutagen, and this was the result...
I love this guys channel
Nightingale would definitely *plow* on any opposing mobile suit with its huge *front* *skirts*
I’m only into Gundam mobile suits but I have to admit that the Nightingale is one cool high grade mobile suit.
I love the deisgn of this kit. Its head is the coolest thing of the mobile suit.
This is possibly the second HG with a some kind of cockpit, the first the Turn A
@@Gunpla_shrimp i wont be counting MK II since it has to be a physical/lookalike cockpit
HG Turn A Gundam not only have visible cockpit but also visible pilon.
@@tekno7263 thanks for reminding me
Given that the box itself is as large as a PG, I can't imagine it would make sense to make the MSN-04II Nightingale as an RG.
Heck, you're even neither getting paid nor being threatened by anyone to do those above 🤪
But not a surprise for me though. After all, you really love *WASTING* things. For example, you're still *WASTING* too much moolah in your _Bandai Magic_ obsession, resulting in you still being *REKT* by your financial crises. Sad. 😢
PS And while you're onto it, hope you'll *WASTE* even just a little bit of time and effort to speak about my HGUC kit being *NOT* a P-Bandai. So just...
Do it! Do it! Do it! Do it! Do it! Do it! Do it! Do it! Do it! Do it! Do it! Do it! Do it! Do it! Do it! Do it! huehuehue
"Unpopular Mobile Suit tax"
Are you kidding? This thing is selling out like crazy.
