Really helpful. I am going to do that tomorrow. My pump is a little different. Where can I buy some spares in the UK?
There is a "squealing" or "Squeaking" sound when I turn on the pump. Generally it has only done it for under 5 seconds, but now it goes on for a few minutes. Why would this be the case? Is it the bearings? The Becker manual and the pump itself says to lubricate the bearings every 3000 hours. After cleaning the filter it seems the sound went away. I clean the filter once a week or so.
What if you get oil on intake filter ?
Just out of curiosity, if the pump is not somewhere that there's sufficient clearance to do the maintenance, why would we have to send it to Becker for service? If we're going through the trouble to uninstall it, why not just do the maintenance after you uninstall it and set it somewhere sensible?
Either way, we have two of these on the way to us now. They look like fantastic pumps.
Good point Matt. :) I would suggest that you only need to send to Becker or authorized repair facility if you are unable to perform the maintenance yourself OR the pump requires more serious service. There may be some tight install spots but really with the airflow you want to keep around the pump it shouldn't be too difficult to get to the filters and vanes as needed in almost any install scenario. Enjoy your pump!

what lubricant to use in this pump?
A high temperature bearing grease. We call it GB Lube 12 - our part number 74330500000 for the grease gun size if interested!

I have a Becker VTLF 500 SK I have relocated. Do you have a commission instruction. It seem I need to open something to keep from damaging vanes before I check rotation
obviously I would speak to Becker but from what I've read you just want to make sure the vacuum pump is disconnected and not sealed when performing your first checks. But you can also purchase a phase detection tool that should tell you the proper rotation BEFORE you power up. amzn.to/3wTHwqm
