The only moment that truly made me bawl was when they were on vacation, and Kevin woke up to his siblings gone, and found that they were in bed with Jack and Rebecca, and he just knew there wasn't space for him with them, so he curls up on the ground so he can at least be close to him, only for Rebecca to wake up and crawl down next to him.

People tend to criticize Kevin. He had a valid point when he said Kate had Dad & Randall had Mom; this is real in families.
Randall’s biological dad’s death killed me. Yes, Jack’s was sad, but Jack had hapiness for a long time, Randall’s dad never got the happiness he deserved
I guess so, but William was still able to enjoy some aspects of his life, and it's warming to know that at least in the last few months of his life he finally got to know his son

William’s death was the first time I ugly cried watching this show. I started sudden out loud wailing. I never have done that from a tv how or movie. I was upset for a long time. It was just so touching.

I think that episode was the one I cried at the most, it would have been number one for me. I paused the show halfway cause I needed to take a moment. Even though I cry a lot at shows, that episode ugh just thinking of it makes me heart hurt.

The Super Bowl episode had me in tears in 30 seconds. No show has gotten to me like this one. Also, I think Mandy Moore is one of the greatest actresses of her generation. She is the only one who acts in all 3 decades, and even when you go back and explore her filmography, you see her deliver one amazing performance after another.
D Anderson Yesssssss she is the backbone of the show and so underrated
I just cried and cried. She did a great job. I cried the whole episode.
I have liked some of Mandy Moore's movies. Usually light hearted chick flicks.
I found her to be charming. But that is about it.
Then This Is Us came along and between her and Milo (Jesse from Gilmore Girls) I thought eh, I'll checkit out.
I had no idea the amount of talent Mandy had. This show definitely stretches a person's abilities with the tear jerking moments, the jumping between decades and Mandy is nailing it.
The facial expressions alone cause our eyes to well up with tears...
Glad they'd tapped into a new level of her talent.
I agree! I'm so happy that Mandy blew up with this show and is getting the recognition she deserves. I was always kinda sad that she wasn't bigger after Tangled (as that was arguably her biggest role before this).
@@lunalove9395 I started liking her back in about 2000 when she was in a Walk to Remember and I love her in Because I Said So. Chasing Liberty was ok, not my favorite.
But she was good in Tangled.
In This is Us... she is a whole new level.

One of the scenes in season 1 where young Randall pretends not to be smart when working with his dad, gets me every time. He didn't want Kate and Kevin not to like him. Poor kid.
We all relate to different scenes for different reasons, and I hear ya with that scene
Same for me! I really related to little Randall right there. No other This is Us scene hit me harder than that one.
Dr. K had me crying in the first episode when he told Jack his signature lemonade line and then finding out his backstory and how he put his sadness aside to be the happy, calming doctor to Jack and Rebecca had me sobbing like no other show had. His surpise appearance during Jack's funeral and him comforting Rebecca as widower himself just made me lose it. He is such a great character in such an amazing show
When Kevin ran to Randall I lost it when it aired lol. Kevin starting to be selfless was great
It was also an turning point for their relationship as well. After that Kevin and Randall pretty much been inseparable.

Galilea Agoitia yeah. He is always looked at as the damaged one, but no one can understand how he is that way. From his point of view it makes sense. From anyone else’s it doesn’t.

For me the part in that session that broke my heart was when Rebecca screamed because he was easier when talking why Randall is perceived as her favorite

@@galileaagoitia9719 All of their faces broke me. Bec literally finally telling all of them how much she was also hurting and how much they hurt her but buried it deep in for them. Randall not understanding how Kevin can be hurting if he is the one who at first glance had it the easiest. Kate not knowing how to react at seeing her whole family fight. Kevin finally telling his point of view.
My #1 would be Kevin showing Randall‘s girls his painting and telling them how all their lives are connected. Makes me tear up every time.

I looove that one too :) Kevin low key may have the best monologues of all! Don't get me wrong, I will always love me a good Jack or Randall monologue, but they just do it so much and so consciously that it can feel (endearingly) like overkill sometimes haha. But Kevin is way more wise and thoughtful than people give him credit for, and when he pulls out those thoughtful talks, especially with Tess and Annie, he always nails it!
The scene that always gets me is the mailman's reaction to William's death. It's only 2 minutes long and he's a minor, side character, but his emotion just guts me. I have that episode saved on my DVR and every so often, if I need a good cry, I'll watch just that scene.

Kevin telling his nieces about death by relating it to a painting was beautiful. Not emotional but one of the first scenes that got my full interest on this show.
Also, Memphis will always be my favourite episode. One of the best I've seen from a family drama.
The episode before the fire montage always makes me ugly cry. The way it cuts from scenes of all of the family laughing and enjoying life in the home to scenes of the home going up in flames gets me every time. The song is definitely a tearjerker.
I love how this show tells the tale of patterns repeating due to each individual's trauma. It shows how each moment leads to who and how someone is. Fell in love with this show. So glad it exists
Am I the only one that cries during every episode. This show gets me right in my heart and soul but I love it. It's one of THE BEST television shows ever made if not the BEST! 😭❤
I cried hard when Rebecca put up a brave face for her kids when they drove from the hospital back home through THE BRIDGE she was afraid of.
I'll never forget when Rebecca takes a bite of the candy bar after the doctor tells her that Jack had died. It was one of those strangely human moments that affected me more than her breakdown.
YES LOL!!!! YES!!!!!! THAT part. It's something about THAT part that just,...It was odd, and it was cute, and it was unexpected, and it was so many things. But I loved it. She just bites the candy and nods her head like, "Oh. OK. Sure."
The scene that had me going was when Jack cried and Rebecca was singing in his car as Jack has just come back from meeting the parents of his squad he fought alongside at Vietnam. The quiet way in which he cried and let out his emotions was too much for me. Loved the performance of Milo in that particular scene and had me ugly crying for almost an hour.
Especially after saying, "I never cry." I loved the episode of them falling in love driving to L.A.
When William received Rebecca's letter saying that he should stay away, made me cry. He was so hopeful to have a relationship, and to have it crushed made me cry as much as his death
How is the episode where Nicky accidentally kills the little boy in Vietnam not on here?! That made cry SO HARD!!

The video may have been in final stage of development when that episode aired. It was just a few weeks ago. But definitely top of my list.
Yeah I was expecting it to be on the list too, I think it's the scene that made me cry the most (yes, even more than Jack's death, probably because it was something we were expecting, so even though I cried really hard when he died, that moment where that little kid died was even harder to watch)
Nothing made me cry harder than when Randal imagines his Dads talking about him as a kid. Im crying just thinking about that.

Randall not wanting to be a burden and Kevin(thinking about what his dad would do) read the signal and RAN to see about his brother.

I've seen all 6 seasons and William's death still hits me the hardest. So many elements to it. #2 for me is (surprisingly) Miguel's death and 3rd, Nicki realizing Jack taught his kids about the "song" or anything Nikki.
My number one moment will always be Kevin running to Randall on the opening night of his show. I don't know that I have anyone in my life that would do that for me, or is that in tune with me that they would know to come find me. I swear I was laid up for 3 days after that moment ugly crying on my bed.
Jack's Death still gets me to this day. As ridiculous as it sounds, It feels like I lost someone I knew

For me the saddest scene was when Kevin sees his father praying in the kitchen. A son seeing his father struggle is always tough.

I love this show. And all these scenes made me cry. I know it's from a more recent episode, but I think the episode where they finally meet Nicky was to me, the most emotional moment of the show. I felt the guilt and the sadness bottled up in Nicky's character. I couldn't make it through that episode without absolutely breaking down

Every time I watch an episode of this show, I know that, at some point, I'm going to cry. So, I tend to binge it and get all the tears out of the way in one go.
If more people had a dad like this, there be a lot better people in the world
They do. Of course Jack Pearson is a dream dad and every dad in the world can't be like him but a lot people have good dads. And i'm grateful for mine and there are a lot of good people in the world, including you and me.
The most disappointed man was one of the most emotional episodes! When William broke down in court and the judge builds up his hope. How he was about to lapse but is prevented by the timely entry of Randall. Its a beautiful episode and had me bawling!

My mom asked me what show she could watch with my dad, something nice with not so much violence since they wanted a break after shows like Narcos and Breaking Bad. I got her season 1 and 2 and they freaking love it!
Season 1 was ridiculous. I cried at least once an episode. Kate's drumming break down is another one that got me.

Looking at the show is like watching my life on TV. My stepfather was white and he die unexpectedly. It's been 30years now and I still deal with it. He was the first man who never lie to me and loved me unconditionally. He taught me how to be a man not a black man but a man which is more important.

I binged seasons one, two and the first few of season three entirely in a matter of about a week... I kept a lump in my throat during every episode, well because this show forced me to...
Then I watched Season 2 Episode 8.... NEVER in my life did I ever cry like that for any show or movie! By the ending credits, I fell instantly in love with, Justin Hartley as an actor! That amazingly beautiful talented beast! And instantly, Kevin became my favorite! I cried every time he cried. I cried when he laughed. I cried when he drank, talked, through the entire freakin episode!! I cried!! Kevin made me weak as f***!!... Luckily though, I was watching it alone, on my laptop with my headphones in.... Crying like a baby!
there's nothing wrong with crying even if you are a grown ass man..it just shows you are human :)
the one scene from that had me in tears was in one of the Christmas episodes where Randall tries to save one of his co-workers from committing suicide. It was both heart-breaking and heartwarming at the same time, especially when it made me think of the time where I was taking care of my father after a very bad divorce. The first time I watched it, I gasped hard when I thought the person jumped but I breathed in when I saw he didn't.

I cry all the time with this show. Memphis was the longest ugliest cry ever. The show continue to ramp up the feeling.
I think there's only one episode I did not cry in. I cry whenever I see Jack. He's the embodiment of everything that people need to be in life.
Right?? He just shows up on screen and I’m already bawling like “he’s such a good dad!!” I aspire to be like both he and Rebecca. What incredible souls they are.

Its just a beautiful and sensitive tv show and i just love how they can show life and how they built each person, how we can see that every person has an awsome side but also bad things, bad habits.
How people who are struggling with depression, anxiety, drinking problems... they can still be good people and it makes me feel so good, to see something so real.
So damw good this real relationship between sisters and brothers... not always full of beautiful words of love but always there somehow.
Omg I NEED this video sometimes when I am feeling very anxious and depressed. Crying takes those horrible feelings away and turns them into something beautiful. I have this bookmarked and I watch it all the time, always works...

I’ve never even watched this show and I cried through each of these moments on the list.
What about when Kevin breaks his leg- the convo between he and Jack in the hospital, where jack tells him he’d do anything to take the pain he feels and take it on himself.
My little Brother (he was the baby) died on SuperBowl Sunday.. February 2, 2014.. He was 23.. He died from the "WIDOW MAKER" as well.. I am the oldest of the "original 3", we were all 4 1/2 years apart, we have a sister as well, I was 9 years older than Him.. We have 3 adopted siblings that joined Our Family when we were all out of the house. I didn't start watching the show till 2018.. It had been 4 years since He Passed and "SuperBowl Sunday" was beyond emotional for me, especially watching it thru Becca's eyes.. I was supposed to be there with Him, we didn't think what was going to happen would happen.. My Sister made it in time to be there with Him, in a "Becca" aspect of it.. The show brought the moment to ME as if I were there.. I guess what I'm saying a novel later is, as someone who (besides the fire) had that exact thing happen to My Loved One, the show provided a strange heart wrenching closure as well as an amazingly heartbreaking moment..
Sorry.. I TRULY HOPE SOMEONE UNDERSTANDS MY WEIRDNESS.. Anyways.. THANK YOU "THIS IS US" entire show for making something so different and real.. Xx 🖤
I thought the moment Rebecca broke the news to the kids was a powerful moment too! She told Miguel to take a walk if he can't be strong and be there for the kids, and then went in. T_T

Jack's death made me cry a lot. I have never felt the pain of any character's death in Bollywood, Hollywood movies or English non English shows. Even though Jack's death was revealed earlier and not unexpected, the way he died and the way Rebecca reacted and her breakdown in the car made me sad for many days. Ahhh this is us is ❤
Dammmn, Williams postcard scene with Beth was one of my favorite moments.
I just binge watched all 4 seasons after watching this. Somehow I forgot everything I went along from the emotional roller coaster. It made my more emotionally invested than any other show I've ever! 5 days later here i am again 😂
Since I’ve only seen season one thus far, my choices are limited. That said, William’s death (especially the moment he reunites with his mother), and Beth eulogizing William and then Kate finally breaking down about Jack in “What Now?” just devastated me.
I’m not sure if it’s just left over pain from a walk to remember, but literally everything Mandy Moore does on this show makes me cry.

Nicky not getting the chance to tell Jack what happened in Vietnam was extremely sad to me. How it was a stupid mistake but an accident nonetheless

I knew the number one was going to be Jack's death, but I was surprised that my personal favorite storyline made it on here (and I'm glad)! Kevin is my favorite character and he has been right from the start. I'm a lot like him, and his breakdown is both my favorite moment on the show and the one that makes me cry hardest. His relapse this past week, too. They're both places I've been and having a way to see it in front of me is important to me.
Kevin is always going to be my favorite Pearson. Sorry, Jack.
