Most appropriate story for today's times. And hearing in Mrs Lakshmi Kaza's empathetic voice is provoking more thoughts

Very very relatable to the curren trends & majority of parents and childrens situation! As usual, very nicely narrative 🙏
Yes! Its not always one sided version story & it should be considered from both sides🪔

The crux of the problem is that it's tied to the job market. Eye watering news in the media about salary packages make the parents believe that this is their one shot gateway to becoming rich by being honest since one major though fast dwindling middle class ethic is to get rich by following dharma and honesty. The dharma I am referring to here is not religion but one of righteousness

On the other hand middle class people even those who finally make it to these esteemed institutions - that is if they manage to stay alive in this entire process - how many of them really get those jobs which are so highly desired? Even if they get them the next recession is resulting in layoffs. Result - these frustrated individuals who have taken EMIs for everything under the sun are now left with only two options - to commit suicide or if they are more resilient to launch a startup. And the fate of startups today everyone already knows. Btw it's the same fate of those which were called in 1970s and 1980s as small scale industries

There are several deep rooted issues - the fault is not just parents. Extreme materialism, deep rooted economic inequalities, high inflation, rising unemployment is making it imperative to find a good job. Rich people are buying seats and poor people are having highly subsidised education. Then reservations. The result is intense competition for the very few seats. How many people know that IIT JEE exam is ranked THE toughest exam in the entire world? Then how many middle class kids with zero reservations and even above average intellect can actually compete?
