MASSIVE Uluwatu - Jet Skis & Paddle Surfing in Bali
Вставка
- Опубліковано 12 вер 2024
- a 12 foot long period swell hits Uluwatu, Bali July 18th, 2020 during the pandemic and it was one for the books. With clean and super beautiful surf plus pandemic (non-existent) crowds the usual suspects had the most classic Uluwatu session imaginable.
The tow-ins from the jet ski were taking minute-long rides on waves quadruple overhead in size.
Vibes were all-time on the Single Fin deck with Tim Morris announcing on the mic and Tai Buddha providing jet ski support and even ripping a few waves himself.
Riders also include:
Bruno Santos
Mark Glindeman
Dolphin Andrei
Lee Wilson
Blacky Nyoman Satria
Shot on a DJI Phantom 4 Pro

Every couple years uluwatu is the biggest it's ever been.
Clickbait
Nothing is/was or will be (for a long while) bigger than the Nias boat over the falls swell.
Exactly my thoughts!! Must be nice for every biggest swell to be bigger than the previous 1 year earlier.
That's just the lemon next to the pie
Uluwatu rarely gets filmed with drones. The drone camera operator is extremely good! GREAT VIDEOGRAPHY and HUGE surf! :)
Yoooo thx for such praise! Got a few more videos on my channel you’d enjoy have a look and appreciate the support
Love the natural sound and that you show the entire ride.
thanks for sharing I'm glad you enjoyed that
How good! Love watching those long drawn out carves on a big open face. What a ride!
Glad you dig it thanks for sharing :)
I love surfing video without music, only natural sound of waves, just keep it up brother 👏
Glad you dig it, will keep em coming!
I just hope these guys realize how incredibly lucky they are to be out there because most of us will never get a chance. I know I sound jealous. You better believe I’m jealous! Party on men, may God be with you. 🤙🏼
most of these guys get to surf these waves everyday and get rides like this every XXL swell so I'm sure they have a lot of gratitude. but you still bring a wonderful attitude and perspective. cheers
Im indonesian and sadly i cannot surf :(
The drone shots are amazing! 🥇🏄♂️🚁
Yeewww thanks Raul
Unreal video! Love the filming and audio 🙌🏼
Really appreciate the feedback 👊🏻
The wave sounds do not pair up with the video.
No awards for the foley work matching the video, but it was the sound I wanted to hear.😊
there was some confusing soundscapes going on
haha nice
better than a song you don't like
Superb footage of superb world class surf, reminds me of surfing the 8 /10 footers (15ft faces) rights of Anchor Point in Morocco, too old now, thank you.🏄♂️🤙
You’re very welcome I’m glad you can enjoy vicariously through my work :)
sick waves and. huge, but swell of the century a few years ago was way bigger.
Swell of the century. Has a nice ring to it
That barrel at 3:20 isHUGE and PERFECT
We call him the barrel whisperer. Bruno santos. He’s a true freak. Him and blacky were the only guys out there paddling on sub-7’ boards and packing huge tubes
All time!
Literally!
Amazing sound
Thank you 😋
wonderful video. great waves.
Thanks for watching and sharing, will keep them coming
THANKS, Awsome
Thank you, you’re very welcome
MUZZA’S Swell was the swell of the century! I got a pic of myself out on that day. IF YOU KNOW, You KNOW! Or as COOKIE would say “It’s on, WHEN IT’S ON!” 🤙🏾🤙🏾
It’s all subjective. Cookie was prob over at nusa dua hahaha. Muzza swell was most memorable at kandui with the Hawaiian crew and Craig getting photo of the year on the 5’4 hypto 🤙🏻
Only nature background sounding. Thanks.
you're very welcome
props for the jet driver to
Now that's surfing!
Mostly surviving….with a little surfing :)
Thanks for bringing that one back. It's a fantastic pure format! The SUPer may have been Drew. Does anyone know? What a perfect playground..
It’s a pleasure. Can’t believe it’s been collecting hard drive dust for 4 years! Don’t know Drew or any SUP guys around here but props to him for sweeping himself out there
Holy crap!
imagine if there was a piece of crap that was actually holy
@@indoeye They're be some somewhere 😂
Boys are Snowboarding at Uluwatu!!
Truckee
All to yourself, fantastic 🎉
pandemic problems
It was way bigger in 2018!
possibly
The jet ski was a revolutionary addition to surfing. Oh, look, there's a wave way out there. Let's go catch it!
one of the only things I envy of wealthy people is there ability to utilize expensive toys in this way!
Fake water sounds kind of amazing but the footage is amazing
Yeah the ocean sound is obviously just recorded elsewhere at a beach, it doesn't even match what's happening, plus if it was recorded by the drone all you would hear is the drones props buzzing.
thanks Marc
you nailed it about the drone props. as far as the audio, it is far from perfect but at least enjoyable to most
Biggest is 4.543 billion years?
Yep
It’s science baby!
Is it too big to rip on it? Seems that guys didn’t try to stay at the pocket and sometimes dodge barrels.
Best.
As Khalid would say
A comment I posted is not showing up? Weird.
Makes me want to surf again nice open walls for carving and not crazy skin eaters like some places when bigger.
Looks fun
We had swell recently and not sure why a certain bay was surfed a 1hr away from me.
As a easy access wave is just around the cnr whereas this place is super sketchy getting in or out no beach no gentle whitewash on the inside.
If it makes you want to surf then it’s doing its thing! Glad it could evoke some stoke
Ahhhhh 26 years since last time i was there🎉
I was there in 87....oh its way different now. Look at some footage of what's happened to the Island.
There in 83. Now, It's truly an example of paradise lost. Just like surfing in general is now a polluted, crowded, instaego mess. We would never dare film anything to attract the mASSES. Now everything is filmed & the mASSES followed...(except on a few big days...)
The XXL 2018 swell was the biggest.
you're probably not wrong
Wasn't the july 2018 mega swell the biggest indo swell ever?
yes, the 2018 swell was bigger
Yep, click bait titles as usual.
you might be right
Imagine having a ski so you don't need a paddle out. My shoulders hurt watching this because I know it all too well even with channels and clean surf, bigger surf means longer paddles.
I guess I am old
These are the best I have seen after a few mnths of watching it is running fast in that one section.
a luxury we all wish we had indeed nick, thanks for watching
@@indoeye very much so
Waves like these make me want to surf again. I can't though due to permanent injury, those open faces look fun.
It's not a furious skin eater like some places get when bigger.
Recently there were large swells near me and seeing one place being surfed, not sure if it was a size thing or why it was being surfed as there is easier access waves around the cnr?.
But I know the place and it is sketchy as hell no beach no gentle whitewash in.
When was this swell? Could not have been recent my son is surfing over there now
4 years ago
Mantap !
mantul bli
where are the crowds.....?
read the description
Great footage ! (But what's with the dripping soundtrack? 😅😅)
what can I say, i'm a thalassophile
Fl surfers are funny recording knee high waves 😂😂
Any shore footage
The srone footage always robs the true size of any wave. Looks like 10-12dt faces with the odd bigger one
Check out my other videos there’s a good one with cliff angle of racetracks pumping
Bali burgers
extra cheese
How did they get out there
Either a lucky or a brutal unlucky sweep out of the cave. Days like this it can take 45 minutes to get to the bombie line up!
Lol 😂 you didn’t notice the jetski???
@@eatsurfsleeprepeat5485 of course I did where did they launch from then
@@garypalmer5441lots of options. Jimbaran & Serangan being most popular
Shoulda been out there yesterday…
Every. Damn. Time.
@@indoeye lol!!
Sound track is duff.
Homer loves duff
saw it bigger 96'
Bet you did. The good ol days. When everything was better. And bigger
Why do the need to be towed in, looks like an easy takeoff.
Everything looks easy from a keyboard
Boy would I love to surf that glass. And not have to paddle. Tow in- subtract 5 feet.
We can all dream
Seems like none of the surfers actually rode all the way through to racecourse.
When swell is that size the waves do not connect to racetracks. Outside corner comes alive which is above racetracks
Todays forecast is 1.3-1.8m 13s.
😂😂😂😂😂
It’s dropped off a bit since yesterday
Read the description
When was this?
July 2020
looks a bit mushy
yeah those barrels are mushy bro
@@indoeye yes but it still looks quite fun though, even if it is just a bit of harmless sloppy wind chop, just getting in is fun though!
No it's not...jerry lopez long before these spots became resort stops for the idle rich surfed this shite beyond big..back in the 70's...on equipment that these dudes couldn't ride...
you're not wrong
I fart on command
Not yesterday at all . Who puts this up .
Who said it was yesterday? You know UA-cam has video descriptions for a reason
It's not the biggest😊Beautiful nonetheless
truth, glad you enjoyed
Tow in's don't count!
you have a massive big wave industry that would disagree with you. but hey, that's what the internet comment section is for isn't it
Ai
Yeah definitely ai
the fake sound is bad
Can you do my sound design next video?
Biggest claim ever 😂
But it got you to watch some didn’t it
@@indoeye When people realise the title is clickbait they'll click out, this will kill your view duration which will tell the algorithym the vid is no good, and those viewers may avoid other vids from you in the future. The click bait title is a risky path to take... Just be honest, call it big fun Ulu or something...
Clickbait. Not even close
Got ya
Looks like high tide to me, no big deal, Grave Yards is where it gets interesting on a solid swell, where is the footage of Grave Yards hey ?
this guy
Biggest? Big claims...
I've seen it twice the size
@@criskalanisure you have
@@indoeye swell of the century a few years ago... seen it but not surfed it (obviously)
