- After missing a "boatload" of fish last week while ice fishing... a few tweaks were in order to correct the ship. Downsizing presentations while upgrading hook sizes is what did the trick to landing fish rather than losing fish.
Another first ice video on the Winnipeg River in Northern Ontario out of Kenora hits the big screen just to show how subtle changes can make such a big difference in catching fish... or not.

Very enjoyable video,you keep real,hook size when fishing with bait always use bigger hooks,I change most of the hooks on my baits with larger hooks,hope you have a excellent icefishing season c;

Sadly most of us In the USA can't go to Canada if you have priers in the US. Last time and only time I got to fish for perch was when I was on a job on Lake Erie doing a water treatment install at Davis Bessie Nuclear Facility right after 911 happened. I got my limit and even had a Fish Ohio for biggest perch. Took them to a cleaning house and they cleaned and froze them for me and I carried them back to Missouri on dry ice. Gotta say that was some of the best eating fish I've ever had!! They were sweet tasting just like a bluegill that we catch here.
Hopefully one day you are allowed to come and experience our fishing again!

Thanks! I use 10 pound braid to a 10 pound flouro leader tied with a uni to uni knot

Being from Iowa I have never been that far up. Our walleyes don't get that big lol

Ok. Maybe I missed something.
I was just curious. I thought there was at least one that was let go after your story, then a measurement. Seems long, but again, I must have misjudged. Good video. I'm down in the Midwest and have to resort to watching videos for now. Can't wait to get out if and when there will be good ice.
The bigger one might have been a little longer for the measurement and everything but it’s not much of a concern inside a warm shack - only outside where their eyes can freeze pretty quickly. Glad you enjoyed the video and hope you can get out soon!
