No parents do that. Young toddlers left alone in an unlocked apartment. No way. Even if you thought the children would be ok (never), your belongings, passports, money. Just doesn't make sense.

They definitely took a risk!! What if the place caught on fire and they couldn’t get to their children…so much could go wrong..and it did!! Great video..thank you!!
Could it also be a possibility that Maddie was in the other bedroom at that time, in the now missing sports holdall, I'm definitely getting the feeling that the other bedroom is more important than I at first thought and also one of the dogs had a positive hit in there
"when it happened" is deceptive as well. If you are covinced a man broke into the room and kidnapped your child, why not say so? You would rather say: We could have prevented the abduction had we been in the appartment.
Yes, “when it happened” is key here. I suspect the fall from the sofa was fatal as Gerry doesn’t think them being in their bedroom would have helped Maddie. Definite leakage here!
This explains a lot. Most comprehensive analysis on the case. Thanks Bob. I never understood the remit by Scotland Yard to investigate the parents, when the evidence, and their post behaviour, pointt at them. There has to be corruption or conspiracy involved.
@@stuungar3390 it's strange, isn't it. I think Gordon Brown got involved early on and it has been shrouded in a cloak of weirdness ever since. Government spin doctors, the mainstream media machine, the British police, all working to get Kate and Gerry out of trouble. Why- That's the real mystery.
@Plingu698 - Yes, it doesn't make any sense. I'm not a conspiracy theorist. However, this and Trump's assassination attempt are too far-fetched to believe otherwise. I don't believe Scotland yard behaved this way to merely extract tax payer's funds on an ongoing basis.
Fantastic as always. I agree that they were likely in the bar when it all happened. Too busy dr!nking to provide proper care. Pretty shameful. It's amazing to me that this neglect is barely if ever mentioned by the media. It's in no way related to language but have you seen the videos of the cadav3r and bl0od dogs alerting to their possessions and to areas in their room? Chilling.
I always wondered why they didn't just pay for the babysitting service? Did they not WANT to pay?Or maybe the service wasn't extended into the later evening hours? What about all the thousands of people who thought their decision was reckless and negligent? He conveniently left that out of his answer also. I'm sure they have guilt but they have a criminal's mind way of showing it, right?
@Yvonne_AZ65 it's unexplainable why they decided not to pay for a babysitter. The service must have been available. Otherwise, Gerry would have been happy to say so. They dont see the criminality of the alternative theory; they were acting in the interests of their twins. That's how they justify whatever actions they took [ Allegedly!! ]
@@Plingu698 I agree with you mostly. But the twins were not the main reason they committed their heinous cover -up, in my opinion. I believe that both parents acted to protect THEMSELVES, first and foremost, and only secondarily, were the twins perhaps considered.
@@Plingu698- there were two evening babysitting options at the Ocean Club at that time. One was a free service at the same location as the day crèche, where parents could drop their children off, go and eat dinner then collect their children before 11pm. The other babysitting service was where one of the nannies would come and sit in the apartment and watch the children. This was a chargeable service by the hour. I forget the cost, but believe it’s listed in the PJ files. They chose to do neither, and instead carried out their own checking routine. They completely ignored the perils of leaving three children under three in a foreign apartment…..which had a concrete tiled floor.
It might only have been day three after Kate had initially stated that she went in through the front main door to check the children when she realised that Madeline was not there. And therefore after that that Gerry changed his initial statement to them using the sliding patio doors which were always unlocked. The significance being if Kate went through the main front door she would have passed right by the open window which she would have surely noticed and would have mentioned in her first interview.
Linguistically, Gerry is not even backed up by thousands of people, but by thousands of messages. I mean, in theory it could be two people who wrote him 500 messages each, telling him they would have done exactly the same, according to his statement. His answer should have been: "I had a lot of hybris and thought I knew best. My children come second after my need for enjoyment and therefore I didn't bother organising a babysitter." I don't believe Kate was really on board with this. I think Gerry forced her into drugging the kids. Could you please check if there's something in the language towards this? Great video, as always!!

I am not sure your final inference from the "or not" coda is actually the right one. His seething anger could so easily be generated by the true story being that there was an overnight accident when they were, indeed, otherwise engaged in bed next door and that this accident arose from sedation for which he held his wife responsible, and he resents having to represent himself as having irresponsibly been in the Tapas Bar (not having paid for child surveillance). So the guilt arises from a different direction, not actually connected with doing the things that the question implies. And, if they were in the other room, they wouldn't have engaged the child care, would they?
