  • Jesus Figueroa performs a traditional Chumash song on the Kokopilli Intaglios. The 300 ft long fertility deity, that is only visible from above, is thousands of years old. Last year, it was cut in half for an access road for the Blythe Solar Power Project. The orange BLM fence in the background is from 150 foot-wide road that recently destroyed part of the sacred site.

    I heard this song sung around a campfire one night after a Pow Wow in Southern California ....it was so beautiful .....now I get to hear it again... WOPILA ...thx for posting this...

      I heard this song, (and a lot of other ones ) sang with big gourd rattles one night.by 3 guys singing it and shaking the rattles together, it was amazing....

    Does anyone know where I can find the lyrics to this song. I am teaching it to my 3rd grade students. We can sing the melody using solfege syllables but I would I like to let them know the real lyrics. I can listen and get an idea from the video I just want to make it is correct out of respect.
