It's so funny how life goes sometimes, I remember asking this dude for production advice on Reddit two years ago (when his top track had like 10K plays maybe) and now he is a star and I am still nobody lol
@@adarshvermamusic You wouldn’t be? But no, I am not looking for his level of success personally but the way he took off so quickly and easily is what makes me jealous for sure

So many people talk shit on John Summit and hate on his music but the truth is, dudes mixing/mastering is on 1000..... The latest songs he's been putting our hand crazy groove factor. I love seeing somebody make it that really loves what they do..... You're killing it bro.
i cant fucking believe i used to watch this tutorials and now i realize you are the actual Jonh Summit. Crazy. Keep up with the good music man you the best!
Can't believe I'm just barely coming across your channel after seeing you perform 3 times in the span of a week...first at ARC, then Radius for the afters and then at Everything Always with Dom Dolla, oh and at those after too!! Killed it each time!! Love seeing the growth, you're a beast bro!!
Jesus Christ. lesson is leave it to the pros. Killer job at EDC this weekend John. You deserve the success and thank you for sharing some knowledge. It's also the reason you are where you are today. I'm sure people shared some key pieces that really helped change your sound into what it is today! Blessing man! Keep killin it!
i remember watching this when it came out, and im back here again after listening to your remix of "whisper", its an awesome thing to see someone with such talent doing great, keep it up man
Love it dude! Thanks for helping. This is the REAL tech house. You are the first person in UA-cam that helps making this sort of tracks.. Cheers from Argentina 🇦🇷
Long time FL studio user but figured out how to do it in my daw. Made a sub in 3xosc then went to envelope instrument settings and clicked on pitch. From there it was just messing around with the amount and speed until I got the vibe I was going for. Your video really got me going into the right direction. Thanks a lot:)
really love shorter videos like this. music is meant to be a personal creative exxpression. you give a little info, and then i play with the ideas to either produce a massive pile of shite, or something I love. Hobo is great for that too! long live short (but helpful) videos like this one :D
Really cool how this dude went from being a corporate accountant to an EDM star. I think he learned some solid work ethic being in industry a bit before taking the leap to being a full time producer, which I think 100% correlates with his success. Compare this with the high school dropouts smoking weed all day thinking they're gonna make it... can't compete.
Funny how he made it "Like the Pros" & now he is the Pro . Very good tutorial! Listen to what this guy has to say as he is one of the best tech house DJs in the world.
Not only is this a fantastic tutorial, but this joker also nailed the time down to exactly 4:20, which I can't imagine is coincidence 😂. 10/10 on execution and groove! My only compliant is that I'm out of town when you're in MN this weekend so please come back soon.
the funny stuff is that people don't know what exactly a good kick sounds like. so just off the bat you failed. some people get lucky to find or steal a good kick. or they know how to layer them
@@1samwhich Not so fast bro, Kick2 takes a lot of time to master and I oftentimes find that it's easier to just layer a couple of already made kicks together. The dirty secret in the industry is that everyone samples and steals kicks from other producers' tracks, I started doing it too and usually you can get away with not having to process your kick at all if your sampled it nicely.
I came into this expecting to tear it apart for being all sorts of wrong in its wrongness, but you know what? It's actually spot on. Especially the Hats. Because Tech House is all about the Hats. Everything else is optional.
oh FFS. i literally tried the other day to break down one of your tracks to see how you made it. then i find you have made videos i could have watched in 4 mins. doh. keep up the good work man.
crazy how I've been really Vibing w your music. Also find it strange how your 5 min video helped me more than a 30min-1 hour vid. Hope to see you Soon!

Thanks so much for taking the time to share and upload these, and we are all looking forward to more tutorials I am sure if you end up making them! :) I am currently working on finishing my very first track and these quick tutorials are really helping me get it to where I want it to be!
