Lotta lightning talk for an oilers podcast. You guys gave respect to names in tampa that often get overlooked here with cirelli, hagel, and mcdonagh. One name I think still gets skimmed over is nick paul, he missed sometimes this year but has been great at both 2RW and 3C. He has some great chem with guentzel which gives coop another duo in our 11-7 games or when he just feels like playing line blender. 17 points in 23 games not bad for 3m. Keep up the good shit what chaos!
their depth down the middle in those years was CRAZY though. Gourde and that 3rd line was arguably most important line during those runs. this bottom six does not look nearly as good
@WhatChaosShow right, and you can argue their depth scoring is absolutely not the same, I'd agree with you. But down the middle specifically? Nick Paul is a great 3C, and Anthony Cirelli, who you specifically said wasn't good enough as a 2C, has won before as a 2C. If anything it's the wing depth they're missing, Coleman especially was arguably the best part of that line and a major underrated piece.
@@dolewhiplash all fair points, though the Cirelli carryover isnt bulletproof considering the talent around him & his offensive production then vs. now. but he's looked fully up for that role this season
@@WhatChaosShow Keep in mind too the last 2Cs to win the cups were Sam Bennett (41 points last year) and Chandler Stephenson (65 points when Vegas won), I think the idea that a strong dynamic duo 1/2C punch offensively being what wins cups is not necessarily true, and hasn't really been the case since Sid/Geno nearly a decade ago. I get that the sexy names on the sexy big market teams all have that offensive 2C but historically speaking teams have been much more successful with someone defensively capable there, which Cirelli has always been, which is why he's been successful too.

Alaskan here: Palin is a dummy
You can’t see Russia from any house here
I also like high events and fans
Palin and former Ranger, Ron Dugay, were a thing not long ago. Apparently, they still are.
The Lightning are "too weak down the middle to contend for a cup" when they've already won two cups with Point and Cirelli as 1C and 2C

Just starting this now, I wonder if anyone’s gonna get laid off mid pod.
