It is hard for me to even believe how much Long Island City has changed from when I was a kid. I lived on the hill near Astoria Blvd and could see uninterrupted all the way to downtown Brooklyn. Lol.
When you were a little kid, how about just 10 years ago all there was the Citi group building that was the Long Island city skyline now you have all these super tall buildings. Long island city is now the closest thing to being in Manhattan without being in Manhattan Man.😂
I call long island city clean Manhattan or Chicago loop 2.0 whenever I am there! 😂 sometimes I go to the planet fitness in 41st ave. Long Island city has changed so much since the 70s and 80s I can’t even tell you.
Long Island City used to be a manufacturing area. A lot of it was like a ghost town at night. But then the real estate developers came in and either converted those factories into condos or just knocked them down to build huge towers. The Citibank building used to stand out far above the rest of the neighborhood. Now, you can’t even see it amongst all of the skyscrapers.
