I had my car broken into a few years ago and had a Pandora alarm fitted. I have a new car now and the first thing I had was the Pandora alarm again. Best £900 I spent. They really do give you peace of mind.
Just each night take all the wheels off, disconnect emove the battery, and siphon the petrol out. Only way you can be sure the car will still be on drive in the mornings
After having a Pandora alarm fitted for over a year I would suggest not using an android phone instead of the tag. I had absolutely no trouble using it to unlock and the car always started fine, what I did have trouble with is that the Bluetooth signal would often drop out between phone and alarm and cause the engine to die. It happened on more than one occasion and it even happened once when I was pulling onto a busy fast road and left me completely stranded in the middle of the road. After that I always kept the tag with me and had no more problems.
Tapping into gateway canbus and cause virtual dash drop out and 90% are wired direct at j533 easy to get round not the be all as advertised. Better to have additional cut out to fuel pump control on the output side so no feedback on the ecu switch feed. Looks a decent system btw those cheap canbus blockers are crap cause all kinds of network errors on the bus and mostly poorly fitted and soldered into the bus. Cobra use to be a decent kit cat5 hardwire cuts are always better than a rip of can module.
Nice work gents. Great video… again…😉The chap is correct. Can Bus immobilisers flood the bus with crap data stopping the car functions. However, you can inject that at multiple points on the bus so not always as easy to bypass if installed well. Circuit breaker is gold standard. Three circuit break is very effective but it’s achilles heal is the tag. It physical and the best bypass. The best immobiliser is a mix of both so you will see Can Bus immobiliser with 2 additional circuit breaks hit the market soon. Having any form of tag is the problem.
We're a totally different style channel from you but I just wanna say, thank you for all the videos you do and have done in the past, because you are one of the reasons me and my dad started this channel ourselves! Keep up the good work Lee & Ben, not gonna lie, we open our videos a bit like you guys with the name saying 😂. Keep up the great content lads, we love it!!!!
Lovw the videos lads So it had ghost on it that's 6 wires that are all colour coded, thatcham alarms all have black wires so a thief can't tell which is the positive/red wire that they cut to disable the system. Pandora is a very good system and worth the money and its thatcham approved
Two years nearly to the day I’m researching pandora alarms and see this! It’s a sign! Do you still rate the Pandora storm plus lads? Thanks have a great bank hol weekend / dejavu said this 2 years ago ☺️
So from what the pandora bloke is saying if you were to cut there immobiliser out and put a few wires in between as a home made wiring harness the car will start and drive ?🤔🤔🤔
Nope, you'd need to find the immobilisers and cut them out too! Obviously these are hidden and buried in different areas. It just makes it x10 harder to bypass, and eliminates any chance of them quickly getting past the system which unfortunately is a real problem with many CAN immobilisers (that's why we don't use CAN block on its own, even though we could)
@@that_turbo_daily7654 There's actually special motorbike systems too 😅 DMO Deejay has them on his quads. Honestly, they're awesome. Genuinely proud of the products. Personally I love remote start the most!
So you’re saying don’t bother installing an anti theft device for the 0.1% chance someone’s going to pick it up and put it on the back of a truck? 😂 the car has a tilt sensor built in anyway so if it’s towed or tilted the in built alarm will go off. Other than making it weigh the same as the moon, nothing will stop that from happening 😂🤷🏼♂️👍🏼
My 2012 Audi A5 that was NOT keyless was stolen in a NCP car park at 5ways in Birmingham all in 7 minutes... smashed the drivers window and then did whatever they did and took it ... so now I got a ghost tracker on both my cars
Ben old video i know but is there any evil gt discount at pandora for your loyal subscribers 😇, also hows everything with the system now youve had it in a while
Alright guys I watched this video a bit ago and have now decided to get one for my 2017 s3 but was wondering if you could tell me what pandora alarm you got and extras if that's possible. Cheers
Took the Viking aka the Wizard 12 minutes to find it, bit like Ben finding his wallet when it's his turn for a breakfast. PS - NOBODY gets to see the Wizard!
🤔 im failing to see how going backwards to an “immobiliser fob” helps with security? A fob can be lost or stolen, then the thief can start the car regardless Where as a Ghost is a simple push button code on entry to the car, a code that only the owner knows I get that Maybe there’s benefits to the 2 point immobilisation, but what use is that if the fob falls in the wrong hands or the keys are stolen in a burglary? Where as a Ghost it doesn’t matter if you have all the keys coded to the car, it ain’t going anywhere until that code is put in it Let’s face it, even if a Ghost is findable on the car to remove it, if they have low loadered the car away and now have all the time in the world to search for it, they REALLY wanted that car 🤣 so no security will prevent that I still prefer Ghost, as even if some shit head demands the keys you can just throw them at the cunt and say yeah, fill ya boots mate whilst you remove ya self from the situation, the car won’t start, but if you Chuck em the Pandora keys with the fob they can drive off no issues as the car recognises the fob Can’t see how that’s better myself
That’s why you keep the 2 separate buddy. It’s completely pointless having the fob on your keys. The fob would stay in your pocket or bag or wallet or whatever 🤔 you can also set it up to do the whole button thing the same as a ghost too 👍🏼
You can have the fob, a code, or both! Pandora just gives you more choice. So even if a thief has the fob or code, they'll need both to get away if you want extra security. Stronger Pandora systems even give you the ability to shut the car down anywhere in the world from your phone (even if the car is moving!) also blocking out the tag/code so it doesn't work anymore. The tags are usually more convenient. I personally hate the code 😂 but it's all personal preference! The two point immobilisation just means it takes much longer to remove the system, so makes it more fool proof to thieves. I keep my Pandora tag with my house keys, so even if they take my car keys it's safe. This works for me, but everyone uses their Pandora differently 👍
@@EVILGT ah i see, but that still leaves that vulnerability of losing it or it physically being stolen doesn’t it Pandora Seems a bit over complicated to me, especially considering most car thieves struggle to tie their own shoelaces in the morning Let’s face it, if it’s a targeted theft they will take it no matter what, just think a Ghost is way more simplistic for the end user and does what it’s supposed to do invisibly without having to split up keys and key fobs, download apps and all that malarkey Just my opinion like
I agree with you on the simplicity of that system but what I suppose we didn’t explain all that clearly was that it can be used the same as a ghost if you prefer with just the buttons on the steering wheel etc. The difference with this system is that you can have a fob/app/buttons individually or all together 👍🏼 and if they find the Pandora system it still won’t start as it will with a ghost 👍🏼
You're probabaly better off using the money for karate lessons now a days. Most thugs just seem to jump people for their car keys now and keep you there till the car starts
Even if this sort of thing stops your car being stole doesnt that just mean you now get 4 guys in balaclavas steaming through your front door with bats to take the car that way? I think I would rather they took it off the drive and the family is kept safe!
Why go to all that trouble when there are plenty of keyless entry cars left unprotected for then to pick from. Your run of the mill hot hatches are everywhere. Mine has a disklock and a driveway post, which up now has served me well. Layered protection and hope that they look elsewhere.
So basically.... 1. The crooks can remove a ghost, if they have the time (which they won’t have). 2. The Pandora fob idea is a bit last century, and even if people keep it separate from their car key, how separate is it going to be really ? Different room at best, so burglars could still find it. So best solution is to get the Pandora and use it like a Ghost, because at least then it can’t be removed. Pretty sure Ghost will clock that detail and upgrade their systems going forward to the same spec.
In all honesty, most CAN immobilisers are removed a lot quicker... Thieves can easily have a few minutes if no alarm is triggered! The fob is down to preference really, although keeping it separate provides the most security imo. Finding a small tag in a house is near impossible, especially when a thief doesn't know what to look for or where it could be. They'll grab the keys and go. Alternatively, you can have the code and tag in order to start the vehicle. If you have an upgraded Pandora system, you can even remotely immobilise your vehicle whilst it's in motion, blocking out the code/tag (this feature is great if you have a very targeted vehicle). Ghost can't really upgrade in that sense, as it'd massively affect their distribution model and units sold if they enforced a change in immobilisation used. It can already have a physical immobiliser but it's almost never used, unless the vehicle in question cannot have CAN immobilisation. Most CAN immobiliser dealers don't want to install the stronger, physical immobilisation. At Pandora we make it a requirement to have the stronger immobilisation as standard. It takes more time and experience, and every car requires different cuts, but the end result is more secure. A lot of dealers who fit CAN bus immobilisers struggle fitting physical immobilisation, purely because every vehicle is different and it takes more time to get up to speed! This means it's harder for us to distribute in large quantities because there's less people able to install to the high quality needed, but sometimes that's required in order to offer a more consistent, high quality product.
