Joe, a man who's lived his dream and still living it, I was privileged to be backstage with Leppard for 2019 Download and it was a stunning show, fantastic.
I was privileged to meet them in, Oregon USA 🇺🇸, 1980 & 1981!!!

Yea well ya kinda have some sense of what's happening...I know you've heard of bands that paid no attention..it was all sex, drugs and rock n roll a kinda frenzied free for all in the 70's AND the 80's. I don't think he ever did drugs or heavily drink especially watching Steve Clark lose his life to alcohol. Anyway, I'm rambling but if you're not watching where that money goes, etc...it'll be gone into someone else's pocket not your own. DEF LEPPARD ROCKS!🤟🤟🤟
Joe is a walking musical encyclopedia. Def Leppard (esp. Joe and Sav) knew from the beginning that they wanted to be the biggest band in the world. They were willing to work for it. When Viv came to join them in 1992, he had played with three other major bands prior. He said no other band came close to the work ethic that Def Leppard has. Pete Woodroffe,, producer of four of their albums, had high praise for their work ethic, particularly for Sav. It carries over to everything they do. Sav, Phil, and Viv work out with a Jake their trainer while on the road. The band spends 45 min. to an hour warming up their voices prior to every show.

I can’t get bored listening to him. I fucking love Def Leppard.
Whats funny is the way he describes his excitement with his favorite songs.
For me the beginning of "Foolin" is one of mine.
The beginning riff, slow and building. To Joe's matching vocals is just brilliant songwriting.
Then when it explodes like a volcano "IS ANYBODY OUT THERE, ANYBODY CARE...."still over 36 years later. Gives me goosebumps like I was watching MTV at 13 years old. Just like he illustrated with his experience waiting for hours for his favorite song.
That was me. Before the instant gratification of this Platform and others where you can now watch or listen to anything at will.
Back in the day we were that dedicated and hungry.
My fav intensity in Foolin is in the middle when he intensely sings "NOT" - it is just so striking and I immediately connected

It will be criminal if Sky don't include Joe's speech about Rick Allen from 2009 in their coverage. One of the most heartfelt and emotional moments in Download history! Never fails to bring me to tears when I watch it on UA-cam.
Can't even WAIT to see them in St.Louis, Mo. next year! My fav. Band since the 80s. Can't wait to hear the new songs. 💜

My first ever concert was you guys in that same year. 3 years later in 2018, I finally bought a meet n greet and I’ll never forget meeting you! Def Leppard forever!

@@yadayadayada9335 well with Def Leppard, their shows are very organized and there’s no standing room, every seat even the field/floor are numbered chairs. Their shows aren’t like festivals, you have zero access to the band unless you buy a meet n greet
@@deftye7582 I guess after so many years they recognize their loyal fans because I've never paid for a meet and greet I had no idea anyone even charged. I've been to lLoverboy, Styx, Night Ranger, Journey, Survivor, Edgar Winter, Kansas, Clapton, Reo Speedwagon, Def Leppard, Damn Yankees, Doobie Brothers, America, I could go and on, I'm not kidding I had no idea anyone charged for a meet and greet.
I remember when it was a BIG NO NO to film them or take pictures. We weren't allowed to film a take pictures 70's 80's people used to get arrested for filming concerts. It's not like today everyone has their phone up filming concerts.
The future is definitely different in a lot of ways. It used to be against the law to buy a joint now there's stores all over the place and we can film a concert. Two things I never thought I would be able to do!
