I own a Lobster set. I must admit that for that price I would have expected a much precise weight sizes. I ordered a 4.5 kg+500g just to be sure, (i normally use 4.5), but after putting the thing on a scale it results to be 4.3, not to mention the rubber and silicon (more buoyancy). That could be a huge problem, considering the shipping fees and time required. That's why i suggest to "do your math" before ordering the product and if not sure buy at least an extra piece of 500g. I emailed the company and they quickly solved the problem by shipping the "missing" weight! Overall i think it's a game-changer product for dynamic, so highly recommend from me also. 🙏

I noticed that in the pool because I was super buoyant with the 4.5 set which is the weight I normally use (now I use a 5.5 kg lobster) It's not that big deal but I think the customer should be warned that the weight could be 5% off what declared or that total weight does not equal the same amount of lead.
I just got my small Lobster with extra weights I am 171cm and 65kg, max chest 104cm (no suit), so small is what is recommended and fits 100% my neck. I had a bad sleep and a busy day and got into the last hour in the 25m pool and started at 2kg and ended on 3.0kg and I love it. Outcome went from 60m straight to 75m and I know I can hone... my new balance/technique. SMILE

In your Alchemy neck weight review you mention that you don't like the Lobster for open water depth dives, but you don't say why. I was hoping that in this full review of the product you would explain more. Instead, you again recommend it for pool training but still don't explain why you don't prefer it for ocean use. I'm guessing that it's because it works best when the weights are above your lungs, so in a horizontal trim position. I'm also guessing that it moves too much when your body is in an inverted vertical diving position (as you would use for depth diving). Can you confirm or explain more?
Hey Daniel! Its just not design for it. If you turn upside down with Lobster, it will immidiatly slips away. If you look at the picture of the Lobster, you will see that it covers only the back and the side of you neck.
I just ordered extra 500 grams + small things and they will just put it with my old order at no extra shipping cost, they got a 5 star from me for service, thx
Got mine two days ago in the coral edition… it has a matt finish … I love it but I’m not happy with the quality of the surface keeping in mind that I payed 300 eur all together …
@@KAIZENFREEDIVING if you look from above (on the top of the product) it looks like an abrasion of the rubber … I can’t see this problem on glossy finishes but I got it on both sides of my shoulder and it just looks like it wasn’t meant to be so. I’m not sure the surface will stay in that Matt finish for a long time because the places described here already look more glossy… and the segments are also slightly off to the surface of the main-body… I don’t want to be too piggy here but it’s a very expensive product with sending fees over 50 eur plus PayPal if chosen … I guess I probably expected a little more material quality… in the end I will not send it back because it definitely is an improvement in many ways… feels good during the dive and that’s what it’s made for, right ? It also could be a problem only with mine or with the “coral-edition” …
Agree! I was using a bicycle tube myself in the past. But Lobster is 10 times more convenient, especially when you use a different wetsuit or sometimes use just a swimming suit.

Impressive progression! But yes, good streamlining is making a huge difference! :)
My experience with the lobster is that it breaks at the thinnest part of the main body of the product.
Can you compare these lobster neck weight with a dive vest.

Making your own neck weight with a bicycle tube, plastic clip, and some electrical tape works great.

Absolutely! We have 2 neck weights at the moment, one old one new. Weights are the same

This neck weight only for the pool, so, it's easily stay on your neck :)
