The animations have definitely improved big time, I love how smooth they all look. Gameplay is pretty much as you expect, the adventure formula with a few extra air tricks similar to Sonic Advance 2 or Rush. Can't wait to see how online is implemented with real stages! Figured I'd put the Roblox version at the end of the video as a comparison. It's been over 2 years since the last update!!
@@VongolaXZax Yeah the last significant update was November 19th 2020. There was some suuuuper tiny updates after that I couldn't tell you what they added. So about 2 years and a half years since the last update. :)

This feels like a tech demo, you could play to see what did not make it into SA3. If only Sonic Team took the Insomniac Museum route, it would incredible having a Sonic Museum.
Godot, it's basically another unity engine that's juuuuust starting to catch on. I wonder if learning it will be worthwhile. The gameplay- other than the air trick and lack of rail functionality (soon to be incorporated I bet) looks dead on like SA1 or 2.
Godot functionally is to game development what Blender is to 3d modelling. It isn't technically the best at anything (yet), but it's a sort of jack of all trades thanks to being 100% open source, and it's always improving. I personally think it'll only get better and will probably explode in popularity in a few years even more than it already has if things keep up the way they have.
One major thing that godot lacks is of built in physics that unity has and some other good features and were as in godot you have to code that same built in physics. That really sucks other wise godot is ok game engine and godot is free not like unity to ruin a small indie game devs life by adding insane fees that a small indie dev can't even afford.
Yeah question, do we need other programs just to use the models and assets. Cause Sonic GT- even if you get the engine, you are not able to use their modesl and assets unless you have like 5 different programs to use their assets whatsoever for the unity engine..
Yes, It sounds like this is the version they'll continue to keep working on. The Roblox version will still be up but won't be worked on. (the source code for the Roblox engine is out there though)
I think they copied the source code for the adventure games everything is 1:1 they even have the super bounce glitch that was only in the adventure games

The Spin Attack animation should be a Sphere, like in SA1.
