Tyler disagreed with Vince last week and this week he’s not on the show…. Vince rules with an iron fist….
Iron brush... iron apron... either way you pay his iron price
Gits: "You can't claim this cave. We live here! There's 50 million of us"
Dawnbringers: "But do you have a flag?"
No flag, no country! Those are the rules.... That I've just made up
Don’t forget for FEC there’s a sub faction (morguant)that allows boundless ferocity to work with only 10 models instead of 20
Indeed, the synergies in the book (since it's the old book) are still crazy.
Superb show guys! Really love this narrative turn. Really great content from you both ❤
Thanks for Story time, really have loved it when they leaned into the Bretonnian delusion with FEC, so Sir Jerrion's story especially sounded great :D
CONGRATS TOM!!!!!
On the game cycle, GW needs to break from the idea a new starter and big release needs a new edition. You are both spot on that the narrative can be the driver of luanch sets. Of course that depends on an edition not having fundamental issues for any percentage of the player base. However, I think they are mentally tidied to it to feed share sales and won't take the risk that a cool box of models with great story won't sell
AOS doesn't need a new edition, they could simply keep improving this one - However GW wants an excuse to sell another line of battletomes again.
@@theDackjanielz Didn't need a new edition after 2nd edition either. 3rd edition was an unnecessary, convoluted sideways step. It was transparently the least necessary new edition of any game that GW ever produced.
@@realm_of_plastic i agree completely tbh.
Thanks for the show!
Congratulations Tom!
Congrats Tom!! 🎉❤
Never heard the word "hopium" before. I like it!
Great show and gratz Tom.
Thank you kindly
In respect of proxying, whfb 6th editions Hordes of Chaos, p110, was called ‘coping with the lord of change’. Having overhauled chaos in a similar way GW provided a list of explicit proxy recommendations (harpies as furies, marauder chieftain as aspiring champion, chaos troll as spawn etc)
So rare, but not unprecedented
So begins the Gloomspite Gentrification Initiative
There was a preview of the giant hands holding an axe for cities of Sigmar. Maybe the grass trolls will be a new city for the CoS book
Great book - but could be bigger and even more in depth. But I guess theres more to come in the upcoming Dawnbringer books - which I’m very excited for 🤩
oh my god, i never knew i wanted Tzeentch chaos trolls, but now its all i've ever wanted
Man it would be so cool if that rumor engine was related to some hitherto unknown troll king thing
Thanks for the story time! Good way to catch up on the story, without having to buy the book. (I have no interest in Path to Glory and the new warscrolls are on the app.)
100% agree on the Rabble Rouser ability. I read that and was so annoyed. Reads like late 80s / early 90s game design. Also, the Harbinger of Decay's bell should either drop the once per battle restriction or have its effect last until the end of the battle. Then we'd be talking.
Story time with vince is 🔥
I am interested in what armies you think the FEC reg would go into.
#1 - FEC, as individual warscrolls, where they will murder (that's a joke, I know the RoR can't be in FEC). The real answer is probably OBR, where the faster speed and volume of attacks is valuable.
What is the pick of the week guy called? I can't quite make it out and would love to find it.

Aekold Helbrass (the guy with the life aura) is the next TWW3 hero so maybe there's a Tzeentch life tie in there? Also very here for Vince sassy lore roundups
I'll ally the harbinger of decay into my StD - A punchy frontline Priest with curse is great! (also buffable by the shrine, which is nieche though)
We need a little cou ter in the corner for every time someone says "what I'll say is this"
Vince, during the show you said that you didn't like the way your FEC turned out. What was it that you didn't like/would change/improve upon? I liked they way they came out and actually bought the army bc of how quickly it looked like they would paint up nicely. (Also Tom stating how good the starter box was for them so i got three, thanks Tom.)
I should have been more specific, they are not a tourney painted army, they are a speed painted army. They are fine for the time I spend I think they look cool by that standard, but they aren't something I would take to a tourney where I am trying to win best painted.
@@VinceVenturella Okay, thanks for taking the time to answer my question, very much appreciated.
I think these chaos trolls has more throw back to tamurkins horde. Didn't he have trolls and fight the undead as nurgle?
Congratulations Tom on getting married!
Let’s go FEC!!!!! I can’t wait to get them to NoVA! I got 100 Ghouls ❤
I am REALLY surprised the hurricanum is staying with "Emperor Karl Franz" plastered across the side
It's just a thing of not having time to resculpt.
It was the King of Trolls
Ah! Hobby time! Where Tom doesn’t have anything to show and Vince can’t show anything 🎉
Great show guys😊❤
Hey, I showed my model. :)
@@VinceVenturella only love Vince😘
Interesting that they'd bring back the mutalith vortex beast. It is an old plastic kit, I wondered why they didn't make more easily available. It is also god marked but doesn't appear in the appropriate books, so putting it in this narrative campaign would be a good idea.
Maybe the Khorne harbinger (of course I'm going to talk about Khorne) will just be another random foot hero with tied Slaughterbrute, after all it's the same kit as the mutalith vortex beast, and it would be more cost efficient for GW.
I'd be down for that.
Here's hoping they give us a Khorne beastmaster with pet monster doggo...Not quite as awesome as new Valkia, but still good.
Well, GW had us in the first half. But it was good old bait, and it's a brand new troll king rather than repurposing an old model.
Pity for khorne, unless it puts Valkia back on the table...
On the topic of 80 point ghouls hobgrots are also 80 points.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I seem to remember that before the original CoS book came out we had the announcement around June and then (in July, maybe? I think I was on holidays at that moment) there was an announcement about those 35 kits that were being discontinued. Although at that time they only released the info about the disappearing plastic, but not said anything about cutting the actual warscrolls.
COuldn't say, but if they were cutting the models, they were certainly cutting the scrolls. They go hand in hand. But this was the most transparent.
Now that its been confirmed cities of sigmar is going to be human focused from now on i wonder if that means the elves will be moved into the other factions and dwarfs might infact get a combined book after all?
I doubt it, it's human focused, but the dwarves and dark elves are still very much there.
@@VinceVenturella Sorry i meant more "in the future" i should of clarified that better.....If they stick around COS however that's fantastic, thumbs up!
the gitz box is also way better value than the vanguard box in monetary, game rules, model asthetics and age of sculpts.
👍👍
He drinks SQUIGG WHAT??
Really wanted an excuse to buy the book, a bit sad there wasn't enough in there to justify it
Any story arch with gits is immediately enriched with their wacky antics
Gahh why does no one cover the path to glory sections😭😭
Sorry, don't play so can't talk it through clearly. :)
I feel like the Rabble Rowza was a *big* miss. He's a cool model, but *man* does he feel like he doesn't have a role in Gitz. I'm not even complaining about the complexity, that's its own thing. First, why is this guy not a Totem? He's supposed to be renowned for his *big voice*, so why can he only issue commands at a range of 12" like every other Hero that isnt your General? Second, why does he only affect Monsters? He's not the "Beast Waker", he's the "Rabble" "Rouza", why cant he rouse the actual rabble of Gitz? Let him buff the regular Grots or Moonclan, maybe ones that don’t have the Squig Keyword since the Squigboss is a thing. Finally, the only Gloomspite monster I'd ever want to use his run-and-charge buff on is the Arknarok Spider, because my Mangler Squigs will always have run-and-charge in the most important turns if I just position correctly. So the only good Monster to pair him with is an Araknarok. Which is ok, I like my Araknarok Spiders, but man is that a niche interaction.
I'll give him this, since the range is basically unlimited and his Regiment of Renown can deep-strike, you can fit him in your opponents deployment zone, and since that run-and-charge doesn’t specifically say "*GLOOMSPITE GITZ MONSTER*", you can goad any monster of any Destruction faction into having run-and-charge, so that does give the Regiment of Renown a bit more flexibility. But the fact that he's designed more for the Regiment of Renown than his own army is a real problem if you ask me.
he's completely useless, actually ruins the value of the box.
Well said all around.
@@VinceVenturella Thank you!
I support gentrifying the underworld.
