I think that is white glass (its hard to tell in a video). To tell the difference between the two; hold the piece up to the light or sunshine and if the edges are slightly transparent and you can see shades of red and yellow its milk glass. Its called looking for the fire. If the edges of the piece is opaque and you cannot see light, it is white glass.
That is a great explanation. I always seem to call everything milk glass and I know it’s not correct. I totally understand how you have explained it. Thank you, Gidget! 🥰🥰
That applies to older milk glass only. "Newer" 1960s or newer Westmoreland or Fenton milk glass does not have the "fire". It is completely opaque. Still very much milk glass. All white glass is milk glass. I was once a HUGE collector.
The white piece of glass is white milk glass from the 1950s. I think the pattern is called Vintage due to the grapes and made by Westmoreland Glass. Milk glass is opaque and can be different colors. Blue milk glass is another common color. This newer milk glass was very popular in the 1950s thru 70s. Earlier milk glass ( 1880s-1920 or so) may have fire but may not. Do a search on westmoreland and you can see examples. I've been collecting antique and vintage milk glass for 30 years.
Thank you, Cass! I have had several great comments about milk glass. I didn’t realize that milk glass could be different colors. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge with me!!
I bring all my emerald green and ruby red glass out for Christmas. It all goes on display the day after Thanksgiving through the first week of January! I started to collect so many pieces that didn't "match" my normal home decor colors I decided to keep the traditional green, red and gold Christmas colors every christmas and bring all my favorite emerald and ruby glass out then. And I get so excited every year when I unpack it 😁
On the bottom there is a W in a circle. Westmoreland. I think the 50s or 60’s and a collectible if you call milk glass collectible. I have that piece. The outer vines connecting the leaves and grapes add to the intricacy.
I believe that piece you hold up is Westmoreland milk glass. You can look up their pieces. Also the milk glass through the years changes but all are technically milk glass. Early milk glass in the 1800’s is usually opaque and in later years more solid dense white.
My fav in this video is the background for the baby birth statue. A big old jock strap! 😳 I did get a good chuckle on that one. The green glass jar is stunning!
Hi, Pam! I think the green apothecary jar is the only color a have not found! That was cool! I love that big corn dish at the beginning even though it was a hobbyist piece, that one may have had to come home with me.
The Folk Art tall mugs would have come home with me. That’s my pattern and my sister-in-law and my daughter have it as well! We call it the “ Warner China”.
Thanks, Pamela. I didn’t realize I placed it that way until I was editing and well, that’s what it looked like to me. Lol! Thanks for shopping along with me today! 🥰🥰
I love that oval mirrored tray! I enjoy digging through the office supplies at Estate sales too! Oh that green apothecary jar is amazing! 💚 I was thinking the exact same thing about that rd white and blue creamer… tiered tray!! ❤️🤍💙. Great shop along and haul! 🤗❤️🥰
Thanks so much for stop by, Carol! Yes I could totally see that cute creamer in a tiered tray. I have a tiered tray in my kitchen but I don’t always decorate it. Usually it just holds bananas. Lol! Thanks for watching, Carol! 🥰🥰🍌
Great finds Pam. I can’t really pick a favorite because I have both pieces but I do have several different sizes of the jars from Belgium in the green. I would love to find them in the amber color. Thanks so much for sharing
I would have purchased the red rooster as I found him very handsome. Also depending on the price I would have picked up the pumpkin knobs at 1:04 of your video. My mother collected "milk glass". It is translucent and not solid white. Many times if you hold it up to the light the very edge is a little clear. From what I could see of the piece you showed, I would call it "want to be milk or white glass".
Yes, I definitely understand the difference now. I have always called white glass milk glass because I don’t know the true difference. Thank you, K!! 🥰🥰
Mar peters-like everyone else loved the green apothecary glass. I also loved the red and whjtd bowl . I wood have gotten it too if it wasn't with all the cracks.
I love the corn tureen! I see them often but haven't been brave enough to actually buy one to use. 😃 Office supplies at Estate sales are BEST. No one ever looks at them and they practically give the stuff away. So many lovely things at the Goodwill today. Was that an Anchor Hocking striped cookie jar at 11;08???( or was it Hazel Atlas). 😍💕
Oh you noticed the athletic supporter! Good eye! 👀 Lol! I didn’t notice it until editing so it’s in there. If it’s vintage it might be worth some cash on eBay!! 💰💵 Lol! Thanks for the laugh, Midge.💕💕
Thanks for the sweet words, Michele! No, I’m not interested in those geese at all. Lol! I’m sure they were snatched up quick though. Thank you for watching! 🥰
How do you tell when a piece is a hobbyist piece? I know you have been shopping for quite awhile and just have the experience to be able to know if it is or not. For us not experienced in doing much thrift shopping, is there a way or clues as to know if it is a hobbyist piece or not?
Usually the Holland Mold pieces are hobbyist pieces. Also, you can tell by the quality of the painting on the piece. If it looks like it was hand painted, it probably was a hobbyist piece. Hope this helps! 🥰
In the store I had no idea where I left her and when editing I noticed it looked like she was kissing the bowl. I know it’s weird…but it happens. Lol! When editing you see so much more than when you are actually in the store and you think, “gosh, I left her looking like she was kissing the bowl”.

Westmoreland. 100% Milk Glass.
Thank you, Colleen! 🥰🥰

I'm glad you put the prices on the screen! 👍👍💖
White glass IS milk glass. I had 300+ pieces at one time.
I bring all my emerald green and ruby red glass out for Christmas. It all goes on display the day after Thanksgiving through the first week of January! It’s getting close to Christmas, Gidget! 🎄🥰 Thank you for watching!!
The red glass bowl was beautiful
The red rooster is my fave. I like the color and style of it.
Like the green jar with bubble lid, folk art coffee mugs, ....
On the bottom there is a W in a circle. Westmoreland. I think the 50s or 60’s and a collectible if you call milk glass collectible. I have that piece. The outer vines connecting the leaves and grapes add to the intricacy.
Thank you for sharing that Mother Mary!
Green jar is fantastic!🍁👍
The Blue Bow Geese made a comeback in my dining room about 3 years ago...they sit at the bottom of my old wood stove. I love them.
I love seeing thrift items in other states. So many of those items I have not seen before.
I have that kissing angel.. it.came with a boy angel as a set.
I believe that piece you hold up is Westmoreland milk glass. You can look up their pieces. Also the milk glass through the years changes but all are technically milk glass. Early milk glass in the 1800’s is usually opaque and in later years more solid dense white.
Great finds thanks for sharing.
love that rooster!!
Thanks for watching, Jada! 🥰
Hi Pam.The mother Mary with baby Jesus was stunning! And I love the green vintage pitcher.I would have gone for the statue..🤗
My fav in this video is the background for the baby birth statue. A big old jock strap! 😳 I did get a good chuckle on that one. The green glass jar is stunning!

Love love the green jar
I loved the green apothecary jar.
I have that mirror tray. One just like it. Very nice piece. 🥰
Came across some great finds!
Milk glass. It looks like Westmoreland.
Thank you Kim. Glad someone else knows what milk glass is.
Thanks again, Pam, for another enjoyable video. I liked the green apothecary jar. I think your comment about the angel "kissing the bowl" was cute!😊
Thanks, Pamela. I didn’t realize I placed it that way until I was editing and well, that’s what it looked like to me. Lol! Thanks for shopping along with me today! 🥰🥰
The white glass bowl and the green bubble top jar.
Hi Fay! Thank you for watching! 🥰

I thought sure you were gonna take that red ceramic rooster home (& then panicked a bit trying to get that other item out from behind...eek!)
I would have purchased the red rooster as I found him very handsome. Also depending on the price I would have picked up the pumpkin knobs at 1:04 of your video. My mother collected "milk glass". I think that single cow was missing a nativity set. I love hat boxes.
That athletic supporter was probably vintage from the condition of the box.😉😉😉😉
Oh you noticed the athletic supporter! Good eye! 👀 Lol! I didn’t notice it until editing so it’s in there. If it’s vintage it might be worth some cash on eBay!! 💰💵 Lol! Thanks for the laugh, Midge.💕💕
You had me worried there for a second, NO to the geese. Horrible in the 80's and worse now. Lol. Love your channel and your presentation.
Thanks for the sweet words, Michele! No, I’m not interested in those geese at all. Lol! I’m sure they were snatched up quick though. Thank you for watching! 🥰
My kids still laugh about all the geese I had in my kitchen back in the '80's! I desperately hope they stay in the '80's! Love your channel!
I love both things you got ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much, Betty! 💕💕
So, why do you not have your booth any more ?? I know being a teacher , you can be very busy.. Keep up with those cute videos.
The green jar
☮️❤️
MILK GLASS IS THICK AND HELD TO LIGHT YOU CAN SEE THROUGH IT. WHITE GLASS IS LIGHTER WEIGHT.

I know, Jeda! I’m trying to be selective but it’s hard! Thanks for watching! 🎉🥰
I need to know what's the deal with Colored glass and crystal.. please help
I don’t know but people love it! I don’t know that much about glass at all. Thank you for watching, Tanslife! 😘
You don’t have a booth anymore
Leave her kissing the bowl really turned me off????
Same here. Why?
In the store I had no idea where I left her and when editing I noticed it looked like she was kissing the bowl. I know it’s weird…but it happens. Lol! When editing you see so much more than when you are actually in the store and you think, “gosh, I left her looking like she was kissing the bowl”.
Mar peters- sure can't spell today. It should have been white and would. Mejia copa!
