My dad built a wooden boat (only 12 ft) and knows exactly what epoxy based products are like 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 that being said you can get Liquid rubber here in the UK it might be similar but cheaper or simply coat the wood in epoxy resin and a little bit of chop strand fiberglass matting ! No need to make a filter look pretty with gel coats and stuff ?
You need a 2 to 1 ratio... Ofcourse it goes off in minutes on a 1 tot 1 ratio
@@rsdejong but it didn't go off quick on the wood ? That's what he's getting at !
@@oliverskinner8962 maybe didnt mix it correctly the 1st time
@@rsdejong hi yes I did mix it the same way but what I did find was I ran out of hardner I believe the company is cheeping out and not putting enough hardener in the tin. the mix here has to be equal parts 50ml of paint 50ml of hardner. one of the fibre glass people says because more heat is generated in the tin and cup thats why it goes off quicker hard to believe. I still have half a tin of paint left and maybe 10%of hardner in the tin. So I have almost run out of hardner. I have mixed the correct amount according to the instructions.
@@oliverskinner8962 thats correct it would appear if its in a cup or tin it gets hot quick and goes off quick does not help if your trying to use it.
@@yorkshirekoi2246these are the instructions, i think you might have misread it: Each kit contains pre-measured amounts of Part A and Part B that are at the proper ratios. The ratio is always 2 parts of A to 1 part of B. Choose one of the recipes below. One if for single coat application (SMOOTH SURFACES) and one is for two coat applications (ROUGH SURFACES). Start by mixing the recipe below in order to gauge how much material can be safely mixed and applied within 20-30 minutes.
