I’ve noticed lower fiber works better for me the night before a big run because I avoid runner’s stomach. But the rest of the week complex carbs are my primary carb source.
Lol this is completely wrong. You want simple sugars. White rice, white bread, sugary drinks, basically opposite of what you're suggesting. I suggest you check some research.
Do your research pal. You want complex carbs because they stay in your system longer and on a carb load you ideally want to load up on carbs 3-6 days prior to running so therefore complex carbs are better.
No that’s not always the case. Carbs aren’t the bodies only supply of energy. It’s also b12, b1 and b2 which you can get in cereal, bread, pork and brown rice.
Idk why you guys eat rice- no nutritional properties I would actually stick with sweet potatoes and vegetables, which have a lot of nutrition I wouldn’t even go for fruit
Pop tarts actually break down pretty well and can give you the needed energy but I would eat them on the day of the race since they are a quick source of fuel. Just my opinion from my experience

Yup plain white bagels are my go to
Nope, processed carbs are the best for carb loading, rice pasta pizza tortillas etc
I agree! I'm always having rice and pasta before a race.
white rice is better than brown during taper because brown rice has too much fibre
Brown rice is better on a carb load because ideally you want to have carbs in your body 3-6 days prior.
Good luck getting 800+ grams of carbs from bananas
😅💩💩
Why not processed sugar or refined carbs?
Not even in small amounts?
Because complex carbs last longer in your system. Having simple carbs is better a couple hours before your run because they give you immediate energy.

@@dylanjohns8409 It was recently found that 24 hours before is enough, no need to do 3 days of it, which was suggested before.
Informative ty
Disagree. Simple sugers are much better for refill. You wa t to refill as quickly as possible.
But he’s talking about carb LOADING which means having carbs 3-6 days before your workout. So in this case having simple sugars is pointless.
@@dylanjohns8409This is it.

Those bananas are fake tho 🤷🏽♂️🤧
a little pop tart never hurt anybody 🥲

The banana is all sugar and it will flatten you out. Your muscles and body will have a flat look.
