Depends on what you call "truely good" Some do it without that though most do as the 3D automake tools assume you are going to use physics so give you a premade body with clothing optional for you to use as a base to sculpt. The base you get is usually garbage compared to what you can do with it after a few hours to a few days of work. How i learned was to get the human body base use sculpt to get it into the form you want instead of from a dot or a line kind of thing. Everyone has their own method too. It does put a few limits onto what i know how to do.
You know what would be a good QOL feature? follow categories. So you can chuck fina and other like her into one category, others into another, and only look at the first one behind closed doors.

As a hentai artist myself you don't need to know anatomy (Although it does help) to draw lewd art as long as it slightly ressembles a humanoid its a pass. You need to have the mindset that some person out there among the 7+ billion people on this earth will def beat off to your crappy lewd art.
i did try to replicate an Iori Yagami art, its okay except no face cuz how the hell i will draw his face that good, i nailed the hair luckily. and then theres colouring. (keep in mind i'm doing it physically not digitally) its so bad. i realized i probably don't know a damn thing about colors.
