He is a gentleman for sure, i met him right after he played Humphries in the Grand Prix and even though he lost a very close game in which he was 2 sets up and had match darts, he couldnt have been any nicer when we met him. Such a nice guy and he encouraged me become a darts player lol.
Im very happy that even though it was a history writing match for germany the fans stayed somewhat respectfull. Nearly no booing and applause as well when Wright finished
I love the germans. The fact that we were hood winked into fighting two world wars against them at the loss of so many precious lives on both sides is a scandal that will never be talked about openly and properly.

Just to name a few: - Simon Whitlock won vs Robert Thornton 7-5 at the 2014 Premier League by nailing 7/7 doubles. - Michael Smith hit 6/6 doubles at the 2018 Austrian Open vs Michael Barnard to triumph 6-0. - 8/8 doubles have been hit, by MVG (vs Wright, 2016, Sydney Masters to win 11-6, MVG hit all of his first 8 doubles on the first attempt), and by Michael Smith (vs Glen Durrant, 2019, World Matchplay from 3-1 till 10-3, Michael won 17-10), but they were longer matches, and neither of them kept up the 100% doubling for the whole match. - Nobody has ever hit more than 8/8 doubles in a row in a professional darts match with video evidence.

German darts has come a very, very long way. From Max Hopp competing on the fringes of the top 32, to two established top 32 players and a healthy row of up-and-comers. Very good progress made indeed, good to see the British hegimony challenged by other Europeans except the Dutch.
