I also very much agree with responding to every comment someone posts in our feeds. It is almost like if you are going to a party and people greet you nicely, complement your outfit and you don't even crack a smile! Who does that? No one. A smile is like the heart in Instagram, but saying thank you back is the right thing to do. Thank you for all your sharing!

You have nailed my issues about turning art into a career on the head...no one is teaching or helping others figure out their way on achieving this goal...so we all just blindly move towards the goal and away from the goal...having no real idea about what is working. I am listening to you, girl. Your confidence to just go on and on. I'm 75, been painting almost everyday for 15 years or so. I've sold several pieces at 50 cents per square inch and have increased my price just a smidge now. I absolutely love your suggestions. I detest people who come on and are trying to sell me a program for hundreds if not thousands of dollars and they will show me "a simple four step process" to blow up my sales online. But I believe you when you when you say such and such works. You ought to know. I paint what I want and have done several commissions of pets, houses etc. It's very exciting and I want to just earn enough that I can keep buying materials. Love you Lori girl. I really appreciate these tips you're putting out here. My main issue is I respond to comments every time, but my likes have been going in the wrong direction. I made a couple comments on your insta post about your pre-textured canvases, and was impressed with your quick response. Now I know why!
haha Somedays I'm a bit slower with responses like when I'm painting. Right now I should be painting, but I'm just not quite feeling the vibe yet. It better come soon cause I got a ton of work to get done before the weekend. and Just keep at it. sometimes insta does that I call it the rolling wave.
I only have 300 followers still so its so easy for me to comment on all posts and interact. The fact that we all receive such lovely replies from you with the number of followers you have shows what a thoughtful genuine person you are. I know that there are not many artists who bother. Goals for us all 🤩

I created myself a website back in 1999 for the purpose of selling my art online only to find out I couldn't find anyone willing to share these valuable tips with anyone else. I finally learned that without the knowledge it was just money thrown in the trash. While watching another video on youtube, your face popped up with an interesting topic so I clicked on it and have now watched almost all of your videos, subscribed, favorited many, and get excited when I get a notification of a new one. I was already doing several of the things you mentioned but not the most important ones. It's like the Universe is telling me to not give up yet (because I did). You have been like the shot in my arm needed to bring back my enthusiasm. I am now preparing to begin again - the right way. You said something in one of your videos about having your paintings ready BEFORE you begin the online journey and it hit me hard. My style has been changing over the years and has evolved into something different and my website wasn't reflecting that, because I wasn't painting enough. Blah, blah, blah. Anyway, all that aside, THANK YOU for being you! Thank you for the hard work you have done to freely share what you have learned with those of us who can't afford a $1000 course for information. I am grateful to have come across your channel! May you be blessed with fortune, good health, and happiness!

I've been painting abstract now for two years and haven't found the confidence to post my artwork online to sell also not having the knowledge of social media and how it works has been a challenge so I'm hoping that watching your videos helps me further my confidence and what I'm doing and my knowledge and social media and it gets me emotional just to watch your videos because you inspire me so I'm going to accept this challenge and try to maneuver my way through social media trying to figure out what these keywords are and how to use Instagram I'm going to step out of my shower and challenge myself for the next two weeks thank you

Most of the working artists I look up to are younger than me, skinnier than me, and post pictures where their beauty is as important as their art. I don't mean they're doing anything wrong, obviously, but this made me think I might not be able to make it because of there's perceived limitations... You are not 20, you are not Victorias secret model and you're killing it! You are very smart and hard-working and you make me think I can do this! Thank you so much!
hahaha nope I'm 49 years young and I have never be a size 8 and thanks to my Genetics, early menopause, and a thyroid issue I never will be.... 😂😂😂 and I don't need to be a sexy super model to sell my art. My posts are about my art....not me and I think that's what people are connecting with. Beauty truly is within....Know your worth and people will see it too🥰

I just started using instagram, I fought it far too long and thought the hashtags were dumb etc...I was wrong, thank you so much for sharing what you know, trying just to get people to comment on your stuff on instagram seems like a challenge. People comment on my work in groups often but insta hasn't really taken off for me yet. I will surely give this a go and get back to you. Thank you so much!

Thank you for all these videos. I had taken a 6 year break off painting and only this year got back into it. I'm now working on my website and photographing my artwork properly - but just posting my art on Twitter - I have sold 11 paintings! That is without even advertising - folks just asked me if they were for sale. So a good start I think.
I believe that everything happens for a reason. My stumbling on this video on the day that I get my digital files from my art printer (Sam-Shoebox Studios) is they day I get this secret. Hi Lori, thank you for your generosity in sharing this information. I am a full time Artist on Instagram and my growth has been steady on this platform but slow so far. And I get a lot of other Artists following me which is great but they are not my target customers. Still trying to to reach more of them.
Where is my heart? haha, you are really a hidden gem among the vastness of the internet art community. Don't burn your self out, it can take a lot of your time trying to respond to everyone. I could not imagine trying to respond to 2k plus comments on different platforms. Kudos to you =)
I am a SEO professional and this is solid advice you are giving. I really don't think the actual domain name is as important as you say, it just needs to not sound spammy, but what you are saying is good stuff.

Lori, Thank you!! I had been researching how to start my own business and how to sell art on line. I have a LOT of art in all different media and subjects that’s filling my closets and walls. I was an art teacher, but now I have more time to create my own art. I am presently exploring mixed media, and more abstract art, finding an authentic style, and I am learning how to express myself with my art, rather than representing realistically. I am also doing many pastel paintings, some of which I posted on Instagram. I have only a handful of Instagram followers, and will need to work on that, in addition to creating a website. Keep up the great work!

You are correct...I nearly drove myself into the ground for almost 6 year doing both. It's tuff, but it's also tuff to leave a secure career as well. All I can say is you will know when the time is right for you. Trust your gut.
@@lorimirabelliabstractartist 4.5 years ago I started paint night classes and booked 90 people in 24 hours. Did 80 classes in 1 year. Crazy busy with prepping etc. However, with so many classes and a full time job I didn’t get to grow as an artist. Covid has allowed me time to practice my craft. Now I have a mish mash of who I was as an artist and who I’m becoming. Lots to sort out. I wish you the best, and am sure I’ll be acquiring more of your beautiful art. I just love your style.

I created myself a website back in 1999 for the purpose of selling my art online only to find out I couldn't find anyone willing to share these valuable tips with anyone else. I finally learned that without the knowledge it was just money thrown in the trash. While watching another video on youtube, your face popped up with an interesting topic so I clicked on it and have now watched almost all of your videos, subscribed, favorited many, and get excited when I get a notification of a new one. I was already doing several of the things you mentioned but not the most important ones. It's like the Universe is telling me to not give up yet (because I did). You have been like the shot in my arm needed to bring back my enthusiasm. I am now preparing to begin again - the right way. You said something in one of your videos about having your paintings ready BEFORE you begin the online journey and it hit me hard. My style has been changing over the years and has evolved into something different and my website wasn't reflecting that, because I wasn't painting enough. Blah, blah, blah. Anyway, all that aside, THANK YOU for being you! Thank you for the hard work you have done to freely share what you have learned with those of us who can't afford a $1000 course for information. I am grateful to have come across your channel! May you be blessed with fortune, good health, and happiness!

Most of the working artists I look up to are younger than me, skinnier than me, and post pictures where their beauty is as important as their art. I don't mean they're doing anything wrong, obviously, but this made me think I might not be able to make it because of there's perceived limitations... You are not 20, you are not Victorias secret model and you're killing it! You are very smart and hard-working and you make me think I can do this! Thank you so much!

I just started using instagram, I fought it far too long and thought the hashtags were dumb etc...I was wrong, thank you so much for sharing what you know, trying just to get people to comment on your stuff on instagram seems like a challenge. People comment on my work in groups often but insta hasn't really taken off for me yet. I will surely give this a go and get back to you. Thank you so much!

Lori, Thank you!! I had been researching how to start my own business and how to sell art on line. I have a LOT of art in all different media and subjects that’s filling my closets and walls. I was an art teacher, but now I have more time to create my own art. I am presently exploring mixed media, and more abstract art, finding an authentic style, and I am learning how to express myself with my art, rather than representing realistically. I am also doing many pastel paintings, some of which I posted on Instagram. I have only a handful of Instagram followers, and will need to work on that, in addition to creating a website. Keep up the great work!

I paint watercolour realism and when someone whose art is abstract or radically different to mine comments on my post is like wow. It's taught me to really appreciate others art. For instance that blue behind you is really deep and a breath of life

You are correct...I nearly drove myself into the ground for almost 6 year doing both. It's tuff, but it's also tuff to leave a secure career as well. All I can say is you will know when the time is right for you. Trust your gut.
@@lorimirabelliabstractartist 4.5 years ago I started paint night classes and booked 90 people in 24 hours. Did 80 classes in 1 year. Crazy busy with prepping etc. However, with so many classes and a full time job I didn’t get to grow as an artist. Covid has allowed me time to practice my craft. Now I have a mish mash of who I was as an artist and who I’m becoming. Lots to sort out. I wish you the best, and am sure I’ll be acquiring more of your beautiful art. I just love your style.

I've been learning how to paint off and on for a few years after I kind of retired, and decided to take up painting when I couldn't find pictures for my walls that I liked.
