You could feel the passion the developers had for "War For Cybertron" and this game: The gameplay, the characters, the art design, the sound, and the music; everything came together impeccably to deliver excellent games.
Makes me wish they got to make that third game that was originally planned.

It is a shame that the third game we got was "rise of the dark spark" with things that nobody wanted like loot boxes and movie stuff not to mention a bunch of problems
like before there was clever stuff like a sad autobot drinking energon and getting healed it works as an inside thing and a reference, cause energon heals you and there was that time where the decepcons got drunk on energon
@@yukinezx342 That is because the third game was developed by a different team. High Moon Studios were developing the Deadpool game but Activision and Hasbro were still trying to profit from movie tie-in games so they had another team developing "Rise of the Dark Spark". If High Moon Studios had the chance to develop their third game (not tied to the films) I strongly believe it would've been as good as their previous Transformers games.
It's a joy to play a game where you can feel the team was all on the same page and knew exactly what their game was going to be.
"Hey guys, we get to do Transformers! They're giant robots who fight and turn into jets and dinosaurs and shit. So, you know, just make it utterly rad at every possible moment. We all good? Good."

It always amazes me how Fred Tatasciore is so good at voicing two characters Megatron a Warlord to Ratchet who is a medic he is a legendary voice actor!

This game was a big part of my like last summer when I got a PS3. Actually first I played Killzone 2 and 3 and then Uncharted trilogy, but Fall of Cybertron was the next banger that got me hooked. So more like a part of autumn

Foc was remade on xbox one and ps4 but they currently aren't available but foc is coming to game pass with the purchase of Activision eventually

I remember buying this game with literal pennies that I had saved up when I was 12, was worth all 20mins of that cashiers time I waisted, watching the till staff counting every one of those coins and experiencing this game is a core childhood memory 😍

Yeah, I personally consider FoC to be one of the bests of that console generation. That final act switching between factions on the fly? Perfection. The ending that cuts to black and just says “Yeah, go watch the tv show now, game’s over!” is great.

Me too mate! I remember having it on my ps3 and Xbox 360! The multiplayer and escalation was THE BEST😭😭😭🔥
Memories of a better time. Of passionate developers who poured their all into whatever it was they were making, no matter who the publisher was. Of gameplay, soundtracks, and moments both incredible and unforgettable. Of a time when deadlines and profit margins were thrown into the trash in favor of making a masterpiece for even a comparative handful of fans, instead of the other way around.
This game, to me, was the peak of that era. I'll never forget that first playthrough a decade ago. I still listen to that main menu theme from time to time to remind me of those good old days.
I'm glad Kev got to play these two gems. I hope he doesn't play the third game.
I loved the Grimlock sequence, there were a ton of Movie references in it too. Like the door crushing Kickback and Slug saying "Excuse me" to him; or the POV shot of Sharpshot from inside Grimlock's mouth with the teeth all showing.
This game is _so good_ and they definitely know their audience.

There was a "remaster" of fall of cybertron for the Xbox one and ps4 but it got pulled out of the digital stores a year after it released on those platforms because of expired licenses smh

After watching your first Rise and Fall of Cybertron videos I purchased both on PS3 and since I didn’t play them back in the day I’ve been having a blast! Don’t know how these games went under my radar but glad I’m playing them now.
I've literally gone and done the same thing, but on 360. Just got Fall a few days ago and I'm halfway through the first. Can't believe I missed these

If you really want Transformers but Metal Gear Rising, I recommend giving Transformers: Devastation a fair shot! It was also developed by PlatinumGames and it's more focused on linear melee based combat with the Transformers fighting on earth. Plus the soundtrack is an absolute banger! Happy I stumbled across your channel a few weeks back, it's a blast!
I actually loved that game too. Wish it had been more widely noticed and enjoyed because that game deserved a sequel too.

Seriously it feels like it’s always forgotten in favor of WFC/FOC sure it’s campaign isn’t as heavy and it’s short but it’s got a lot of replay value and just a badass and fun combat system and boss battles, and the music is amazing
I love the reference to the 1986 movie where the dinobots breal down the door on some sharkticons and the little excuse me from the same character who said it in the movie ties it all together so well
I think the funniest part to me is that it goes from Slag giving a genuine little apology to Slug's delivery dripping with sarcasm.

I think swapping sides/bots is what makes this such a constant thrill. If it was only one side it would be a fight followed by a lull in waves, but when you ARE the enemy you can always be in the thick of it and fighting

Movie tie in games were notorious for being reliably mediocre at best in the late 2000's and the 2010's.
I really liked the Cybertron levels, but man, what a mistake was trying to combine That with bayverse
I remember having a blast playing WoC and FoC as a child, but not just campaign also multiplayer. I used to roleplay as the characters like Soundwave or Shockwave with different ppl online, it was freaking awesome.

As a lifelong G1 transformers fan I cannot stress enough how much of a high that ending is when the credits start and a remix made FOR THIS GAME of The Touch performed by Stan Bush himself starts up
The trailers that came out back then were amazing and everyone keeps talking about humbling river but what about the city’s in dust trailer or the tv spot that gave me goose bumps

It's unique when compared to the Basic Betty format emulated in todays online games. Seriously, most multiplayer games are exactly the same, they just have visual changes and nothing more.

@@User-kq3od for anyone asking, multiplayer is only available on PC (maybe PlayStation as well but i dont remember it correctly) though the use of mods, search up transformers reenergized or smth like that, there are some tutorials out there showing how to acess multiplayer

The stars team into grimlock missions were literally the best congruent campaign missions in existence. Flawless.
The nostalgia hits hard. I remember playing the final boss fight and Chapter 3 at least a couple dozen times.

I love games where you play both sides of the conflict and have characters you enjoyed playing on either side eventually facing off against one another. Jazz against bruticus for example the classic david v goliath fight was just excellent
You can tell they had as much fun making it as you did playing it. It looks amazing and absurdly fun.
I wish you could've done some stealth stuff with Starscream, bc if you do execute one of the cons, Starscream will do the animation where he first goes for the nutshot and just stick the detonator on him

I feel very lucky to own a copy of this game. It's actually the first Xbox 360 game I completed, no joke. It will always hold a special place in my heart.
I love throughout the game you see Optimus tries to bargain and reason with Megatron any chance he has, but then by the end Megatron kills Bumblebee and Optimus is now sick of his shit and wants Megatron dead.
I remember my first time playing this game was 1 year ago at my friends house on his ps3 , I was amazed by its gameplay and graphics , I really hope Activision and hasbro do a revamp or a movie for this game.
I remember as a kid, whenever I was walking somewhere I'd imagine that whenever I needed to speed up, I'd do one of the many badass transformations from this game, and do the same when I slowed down 😂

This game is an absolute 10/10, in terms of quality, gameplay, story, combat, it’s absolutely stupid how good this game is, and please tell me you at the least jammed out to the end credits for this game!
Man... I remember what a banger of a year 2012 was, especially if you were a Transformers fan, rivaled only by the likes of 2015, 2016, and the first half of 2020. The gaming industry was so good back then that even Transformers got one of the best video games ever made in their name. Now we have Transformers Tactical Arena, which would have been a better Clash Royale had it not been an Apple Arcade exclusive so that 32,000 people in the world could actually play it.
I played the crap outta this game. I was a total try hard and super good and murdering my competition in deathmatch multi-player. Just thinking of flying down as a jet and shredding them all into scrap metal and then transforming back and flying away makes me smile.
I literally used to log on just to listen to the main menu theme before playing a completely different game

I remember getting the first game as a multiplayer demo on Xbox 360 and I loved it so I went out and bought the game and played it through. I never got the next games due to college, but it looks like it was awesome. Good work Kev!

Watching this gave me the same feelings this game gave me when i first played it. This game is a genuinely amazing experience this game could rivals modern day games on so many different levles, I'm beyond ecstatic that kev enjoyed every minute of this game as so many of us have. Till all are one
This game deserved so much more than it got! So did the studio behind it! This was a game built on a genuine love of the Transformers franchise and you can see that in every scene!. We got information about pre-war Cybertron, even seeing parts of the planet that have never been shown in any medium aside from comics! We got shout outs to the '87 movie with the Dinobots and Starscream's coronation! We got to be a goddamned combiner! It is a tragedy that the company was shuttered after the movie tie-in game they were forced to make. War and Fall proved they could make something great; they should've been allowed to keep going.
I played all of these and they were some of the most fun games because of the versatility of movement

Hi just wanted to say that when you play as Starscream,in the area when you need to blow up the door controles...in one of the buildings you can make him wear the crown again and you'll keep wearing it untill you talk to Grimlock.

I completely agree the games just aren't giving what they used to they need to bring back the complexity of the old games with the new graphics and then just add the open world and you will always have the perfect games I don't know how this concept was overlooked

You missed playing this game with the multiplayer live, it was so ahead of it’s time looking back on it today. The vehicle/bot combat is so smooth and it’s so surreal a game like this didn’t get more love back then

this is one of the greatest games of all time. And honestly I think the fact we never got the 3rd game makes it even more special with the cliffhanger ending this got. I'd have loved to see the conclusion but also love the open ending, especially considering all the iconic character deaths we got. It's just the perfect conclusion

I know this was posted 7 months ago, but still, I can't thank you enough for this. Between this and the video before you let me relive my childhood, because this video game was 100% it. I remember it being the first game I ever RE-played, over and over again, always bumping up the difficulty level, while also trying to get all of the achievements through out the levels. I've always said my favorite video game is a tie between Terraria and Destiny 2, but you just made realize I've been lying to everyone my whole life, because this is my favorite video game, just a shame I can't play it on my 360 anymore seeing as it doesn't function any more. Thank you Kevduit, really, this is the most nostalgic thing I've ever seen, and I will now make it my goal to try to find someway to play it again.

If you're out here playing older games like this, one I can't help but recommend is an old PS2 game called "Metal Arms: Glitch in the System". It has it's share of flaws, but given how much you enjoyed robot on robot violence here in the transformers games, you might enjoy it too, it gives a very similar one man army feel with some simply amazing music to back up the carnage you cause and the mystical robocrap you find.

Man I miss when games were this good and didn't require you to either burn your wallet to have fun or require months of patches to fix basic sh¡t that shouldn't have been broken at launch.
But with this game I gotta say the Bayverse Transformers games were also good games for what they were, especially the Dark of the Moon game as it has the same gameplay mechanics as the Cybertron games and a unique story too

33:48 The reason for such abrupt ending is that "War for Cybertron" and "Fall of Cybertron" are tied with some books and a masterpiece "Transformers Prime" animated series (featuring Steve Blum as Starscream, by the way) into one big and rather incoherent continuity.
I always loved that the Dinobots were actually quite intelligent in this continuity
