I'm glad you said "or even if you don't have an aeroplane at all" at the end. Sometimes I can feel forgotten as an aviation enthusiast who doesn't fly. Sometimes your sign-off words can be too directed at other pilots. A lot of us non-pilots (by circumstance rather than choice) watch your videos - which are always of the highest quality by the way. I've enjoyed this series.
The whole series was intriguing, captivating, and stunning. "You don't need an extraordinary plane to have an extraordinary adventure" hit home and really has me thinking I should go further with my PPL...both in ratings and destinations. Thank you for your inspiration!
Brings back great memories. I flew over the Grand Canyon on the way to Bullfrog, AZ, (Lake Powell) in a Cessna 172. A once in a lifetime thing for me as a poor dude. This was back in the 1990s, and I had to save up for a year to do it. Flying has always been an expensive hobby but after 9-11 the cost skyrocketed. Eventually, the cost pushed me out of flying. I threw in the towel in 2004. But I will never forget the view of the canyon and over Lake Powell. Powell looked like a string of giant emeralds from the air.
I always feel better after watching your videos!
Love when you include talking to the tower.
Hi mate from Australia, great stuff - congrats on one of the best channels on You Tube. your Alaskian asries was epic
KINW was my first solo XC. I was over the moon when I circled the crater. Life is good.
Very nice. You did fly over the Grand Canyon through the corridors at altitude required, then on to Sedona. Beautiful photography. Thanks for sharing.
Montana looks like an amazing place to go. Proper America in my opinion.
Really glad to see "Niner Niner One" back in the frame.
As ever Josh, inspirational
Very nice series Josh. Can't wait for the next one.
What a great series. I enjoyed all of it.
I have just started my training and this channel has helped and inspired me, your flying and film making is both impressive and professional ! thank you
Nice visuals and the coms are cool. Thanks for posting.
Fabulous Series Josh. I have a lifelong friend who lives at Payson, AZ. So when you mentioned that location it got my attention for sure. Thanks for sharing your adventures. It's always enjoyable.
I have been flying to different airports on every time I get the plane out. Even the flat land of Illinois has some really interesting sights and I keep increasing my circle. Your videos get me ready to go flying again and I just went out last week. Thanks for all the great videos.
Okay josh, here’s a suggestion. And your next challenge - east coast! Fly up the coast hitting kitty hawk, DC TFR, NY airspace (once around the Lady and up the Hudson), ending in catching the sunrise at Cadillac Mountain in Maine (grab a lobster dinner for me). Then follow the Appalachian Mountains back down to Georgia and fly into Blairsville (DZJ) or WIMPYS (9A0).
Nice trip! Great Grand Canyon pics! You forgot to take a selfie “Standing on a Corner in Winslow, Arizona”. LOL
Another amazing adventure with great footage and excellent narration, Josh. Only feedback is I wish they were longer videos!
Still blown away on your filmmaking. Incredible work. Well done 👍 also can’t wait to see aviation 101 dad.
Very well documented. Thanks for explaining the procedure through the Canyon for us uninitiated
Liked the whole series. Very motivational. Cant wait to finish my PPL to take trips like this.
Professional and Beautiful as usual!!
The views are amazing. I have been subscribed for a short time. The big thing I enjoy is seeing how flying works behind the scenes. I have a fear of flying. Your channel has helped me not fear it so much. Thank you.
Fantastic trip! And such an inspirational and empowering vídeo. I am doing it. I am taking off this weekend to follow your steps.
Thank you Josh. I will let you know how ir goes.
Great video once again! Thanks for the awesome content! I would love to see a video or series on how to plan these long, multi day cross country flights. Thanks again for all that you do!
Mate, Watching this mini series you have done had really motivated me to get back into flying and finish my license down here in Australia! Thanks once again!!

Would actually be epic
Of the video's I have been watching that you posted, at first, I was undecided which ones I loved the best. But when I think of the ones in Alaska, That has got to be the best. Though the ones of the grand canyon are beautiful too. Hope to see you in Ocala Fl one day. Blessings Bishop Keith Kirby

Amazing journey. Well done sir!
Any idea when you may provide an update on the progress of N80991 or your Dad’s instrument rating? Hopefully soon!
Wait a week...
Had the pleasure of a flight over in a Pilatus Otter in 1994. Amazing experience until we hit a thermal & shifted probably 1 degree - & it was almost time to change the undies LOL. I was so excited to call my dad a retired aerospace engineer from the airport
Great series and done in a grand fashion. Thanks for allowing me to tag along.
Great series, mate. Some of those US landscapes are awesome.
Awesome series, love it! Keep up the great work. Looking forward to many more trips with you. Thank you fror bringing us along.

7:33 Two years ago I was there! I miss Sedona.
Can you do a recap of your High West B roll? Enjoy the new take on your videos this past year👌
Great series! Thanks for the content!
Sorry you didnt make it to Wyoming. Its beautiful country up here. If you can make into KCYS with our winds stop by the Weather Service Office just down the road. I'm the aviation weather focal point and working on my ppl. Would love to talk with ya. Keep up the great work on the videos!
Wow! So beautiful.
Honestly I am waiting for you to do KFFA, also you got me planning a coast to coast flight starting out of KILE to KFFA across the coast to KCRQ and back to CENTEX
"I'm going to turn over those rocks." Rocks? It's ALL rocks. :-)
Brilliant as always!!!
10/10 would watch a foreign multi-part trip series. Got anything planned?
Thought you were talking about Brandon when you said a well missed member of the channel will be back next vid!
Dang-it, you keep making tag more way-points in ForeFlight for places to go to....
We thought we would go back to the Bahamas, but these videos are drawing me West!!
Amazing grace the vista of the west. I would like to see washing of the 172.
"Comment how this video could be better..." Yeah, I could be in the left seat! Dang man, very nice trip. Used to live in AZ and never flew like that. Now that Im almost done with my PPL I need to do that!
991 coming back? I am going to be excited for the. Your 172 is iconic! Would love to see a video of you flying into CODY (KODY I think) WY
The Lundy Show Rushmore Devils tower Yellow stone In the grand Tetons approval covers everything
Ooh yeahhh can't wait for 991😎😎🤣🤣
This video series has inspired me to go back and finish my private pilots license
Next time come back and spend some time in Moab, you will have a place to stay... ;-) Cheers
Very well done 👍
I thought I saw in the description of a previous video that you use GoPro hero 4’s? Your quality is amazing.
Adventure 7, Zuni Alpha, Black One , 8,000....... Takes me back to the Ditch-Dog-Days of flying the Canyon
Did you go to “that corner” in Winslow, Arizona? I heard it’s “such a fine sight to see”
Tried Sedona at night on the sim in a small jet. Had to go around once thats a difficult airport in the day misleading to say the least .
Sedona airport looks kind of like the airport at Salida CO, up on the plateau.
Last summer I just decided at the last minute we to hop in the airplane and fly up to Mount Rushmore Rapid City South Dakota. Was hoping to get over to Devils Tower cut off by Weather so we stop by car hinge on the way back had a nice meal with my daughter and North Platte at the airport café and waited out a thunderstorm before being able to get home
Come up to KCOE! I’d love to go flying with you!
Winslow AZ? Spt any girls in Flat Bed Fords slowing down to take a look at you?
I wonder if anyone there has ever heard that joke...hmmm. Lol
Come to KRAP and fly over Mt Rushmore :)
My Rushmore was hard to find after circling Crazy Horse Mountain. I am from the western Rocky Mountains area it was lower than I expected.
Sedona...the same guy does our AWOS at PVF....LOL
The airport where you were for the canyon training, is the airplane off the side of the runway near the windsock a misshap?
Lots of dirt in Winslow.
If you ever need a place to stay In Southern Colorado to go see the Great Sand Dunes give me a shout.
Is it possible to get some sort of rough overall cost of such a trip? Not super accurate just a rough cost, even a podcast style video of a trip discussion 🤷♂️. Anything is good. Thanks so much for these videos
I became the caretaker/owner of a Piper Tri-Pacer last summer. I flew it from OGD to E95 with strong headwinds which slowed me down. I plan using 10 gal/hr @ $4.50 / gal. My average flight speed for simplicity 100 miles per hour makes operating cost $45. Per hour. Motels are $100 to $150 per night average unless you have to stay at the Ritz. Food like any road trip $30. Plus per day. I fly 2 or 3 legs a day.
The OGD to E95 trip planned 3 hr flight time and 33 gallons. Actual elapsed time because of wind and fuel stops was about 8 hrs and 40 gallons estimated $180. 384 miles.
Josh, can you tell us what artist and song that’s used during intro? Your films are incredible! Thank you for sharing.
Found it, Good stuff!
What's the rationale for waiting until short final to bring in the flaps? It looked like you were almost at flare height by the time the last notch came in, doesn't seem like that sets you up for a very stable approach.
Did you Stand on the corner in Winslow Arizona while you were there? 😆
Taking it easy.
I would love to see You and Swayne Martin tour UND.
Just curious, how did you guys log those hours, dual, PIC, what?
11:13 Tatooine!
At about 1:45 on takeoff roll it appears that the left fuel tank drain drips a couple of drops for just a second. Would it be normal, when air blows across the end of the vent, to cause it to release fuel held in the tube by friction (probably more correctly something capillary)? I have never noticed that on my Cessna but then I don't know if I ever watched it like this. Just asking. Enjoy your videos.
You landed downhill with 3kts of wind at Sedona? Do you know what kind of grade the runway slopes at?
Do you just change altitude when you are flying east/west going from the end of one corridor to the start of the next and are you allowed to transition inside the SFRA?
