Thailand's revered and beloved king, Rama 9, passed away yesterday, October 13, 2016, at age 88. Rumors about his death surfaced in Bangkok since morning, but official announcement was released by the royal palace only at 7pm.
The King Rama 9 was the longest reigning monarch in the world, ruling Thailand for 70 years.
I am outside Siririj Hospital where the King's body is waiting to be transported. Thousands of people have come to pay homage to the king on the last voyage to his final resting place.
The Thai public had been asked to wear black for the next coming days, and civil servants have been ordered to wear black clothing for a year as a sign of mourning.
The king is highly revered by the Thai people. His picture is posted in every classroom and his name is mentioned in the national anthem, which is being played in every public event and before every movie screening. The king's birthday is considered a national holiday as well as Father's Day.
This is very moving, and I just want the Thai people to know that there are many farang like me that are thinking of you during this very sad time. King Rama 9, R.I.P.
I am impressed and moved by The Late King contribution to the country as well as His compassionate to all His peoples.
Its almost 4 and half years ago that his Majesty passed away i am still sad when i am here in Thailand
He was beloved king by his people.
I went to the event too but in different area (near Arun amarin bridge)

I'm so proud to born in the king 's reign to witness his greatness in all aspect.
He will always in my heart to remind me how we should live our lives.

We wear black harmoniously for our king even no gov. urge. We even pray for him every single evening and more than that we follow his preach and forever memorize his dedications forever. If he reincarnated we would pleased to serve him every world.

Not sure. My girlfriend gave it to me. But I guess it's copywrited because UA-cam didn't allow to monetize. I didn't care because I wanted a suitable and honorable music for the king.

When a Thai person says you’re so old you’ve lived through x amount of reigns, it’s like saying I pity the sadness you have to live through such loss and sorrow.
