thanks for this interview. Caloy is very articulate, the trng he got from his Japanese mentor helped him a lot. He was asked to write a diary so he can write about his experiences. That practice I think helped him a lot. He had a good trainer Ur so blessed Caloy! yes, he must be very proud of you!

And when he closed this chapter with his Japanese coach, he found himself and won two Olympic gold medals. It's his season to be with a new coach.

I hope after Paris Olympics and after winning 2 Olympic gold medals, he can still find successes in his future competitions. There are now many obstructions on his side such as family and financial problems and gf's influence on him. If he wants to succeed in life he has to make great sacrifices. Look at Carlos Alcaraz, at 21yo, he has a rumored gf back in Spain but this did not hinder him from reapping success and his family is also in full support of his career. He has a good relationship with his long time coach, Juan Carlos Ferrero which will surely lead him to greatness in tennis. Lastly, learn to be more humble, focused and grateful to those who helped you achieve your dreams from day 1 and you will not going to fail.
The challenges Carlos Yulo have gone through and still ongoing are far different from Carlos Alcaraz. His situation has just become too sensationalized because of her mom. A situation which should have been kept within the family.

Without coach K patience in training, discipline and strictness to Caloy he wouldn't be where Caloy is now. I have watched their NHK documentary and Caloy never reached out to his coach nor open up with him he just stay quiet and coach K really had a hard time understanding him but he never gave up to Caloy. To think he took care of Caloy for a decade bringing him to Japan and letting him stay in his house paying for their everyday expenses out of his own money and sometimes asking for sponsors for Caloy is not a joke. Did the Philippine government attempted to help Caloy before? NO. So for Caloy to say they had their falling out because of some personal reasons is I think is an undestatement on his part. Coach K never obligated you in return he mentored you because he saw you had potential. You owe coach everything you are and have now never forget that. Reach out to him and show your gratitude and respect that's the least you can do.
He is already planning to visit him in Japan later this year to personally thank him and the people who helped him train in Japan. Coach Mune was being paid by GAP to take care of him, both in training ang on personal matters, so what he did wasn't really something heroic. Please stop judging Carlos as if he did something criminally wrong. He said it himself, he have just outgrown their relationship. That's just a natural progression of things.
Yulo should train under the right condition. bakit hindi gawing fully airconditioned na yung gym? allocate the funding from basketball to gymnastics. We have great value in this sport.

Kayo kasi ang tingin nyo kay caloy ay little boy pa rin. He is now a man. And coach mune knows that. Matagal na sila nagsama. Alam nilang darating ang point na gugustuhin ni caloy magkaroon ng sariling buhay outside gymnastics. Mabuti nga't nakamit niya pa rin ung pangarap na olympic medal (at gold pa talaga) bago sya magfocus talaga sa personal life niya. Balance lang naman gusto niya. Agree! Unfortunately, He is not a gold medal contender this Paris Olympics. He may get atleast bronze but for Gold, I dont want to be nagative but I doubt it. We have good facilities now but it is behind Japan’s training facilities. He was able to get four gold in Asian Championship last year because the main gymnast of China and Japan didnot compete as they are already assure their slot in the Olympics. I hope I am wrong as well ✌️
Mental health is also a.part of an athlete's requirement...i dont know about the Japanese culture perhaps for them its part of the discipline for the athletes not to.have GF / Bf so they can concentrate on their training. I hope he goes back to.school. He cannot do tumbling forever.
