I could cry. This months marks 1 year alcohol free and I listened to this album SO much this year. This video coming out is giving me a boost I needed. Much love y’all.
Congrats, homie!! That's fuckin' awesome!! Hope ya been well, and if ya ever need anything just gimme a shout!!
congratulations brother
You got this!! Don't be afraid to be proud of yourself. You're doing great!
Congrats homie! That first year was so hard for me. The second year maybe was even worse. Yet at some point things got better, other years different and the best years weird. After 25 years clean things are getting really weird as the dream truly is coming alive. I’ve always wanted to travel the world and now it is possible. Dream big brother and reach out if you ever need anything. #punkrocksavedmylife
Congrats, man! The Days N Daze album, Show Me the Blueprints was my boost I needed too as I was starting a new life of sobriety!
This song hits so much right now. My wife just took her own life a few weeks ago, and it's made me decide to get sober, I'm literally going to rehab in two days. I'm excited but scared to death of this new journey I'm about to go on. But I'm beyond happy to have a song like this in my life right now. Love Jesse and the escape from the zoo crew. Thank you❤
Good luck cousin. It won't be easy but you'll make it
Hope you're doing OK. Even if you aren't you can always try again.
You got this! It was my brother's overdose on the dope that I hooked him up with that got me clean 5 years ago!
We *do* recover!
So sorry for your loss, hope you're ok 🙏
I hope everything’s going great for you ❤
This band is keeping me alive right now
i hope you’re doing well! their music just hits different.. it’s helped me through some tuff timez
fucking same
@@absoluteunit6427 real
Amen
i love how you can tell hes sober and feeling so much better. skinny jeans, shampoo and conditioned hair, clean t shirt, i love it
This album has made such a difference while I fight for my own sobriety, and it's definitely in my top 10. I was fortunate to meet Jesse last year and tell him just how much his music has meant to me. He's such a sweet, kind human.
I used to play music with my brother years and years ago. We sounded fucking fantastic, we would just start off jamming with a random drumbeat or some little tune I came up with on the spot and just play for hours. At first, it was all about the music. Then, it became about booze and music. Eventually, it was just about booze. We stopped playing long before he moved out of state, but I was never able to get back to playing because I couldn't separate the booze and the music anymore. Fucking shame. Stopped drinking and began using coke, and every day I pray to a god Im not sure is there for the strength to give it up. Stay sober guys
Man, I hope you find the strength to give it up.
As a musician who was a somewhat successful drunken mess for the past 20 years and has been sober for a year now. This song hits home.
This is a great song. Really enjoy Sendejas' songwriting in both bands.
Thanks, homie!! Glad ya dig it. =] Hope ya been well!!
@@DaysNDazeOfficial Dude, so cool when you actually hear from the artist. Been following you dudes/dudettes for a long time. Great work.
yeah... both bands get play in Japan on MaximumCaffeineOverdoseRadio!
I'm thirty years old and have never had any drugs or alcohol in my life, so I know that this song isn't meant for me. That said, it's impressive how well this song can resonate with someone like me who doesn't have a single shred of the kind of life experience this song is speaking to. This song is just really fucking good is what I'm getting at here. A friend introduced me to this band a couple of months ago, and this was the song that made me realize just how much I was gonna love the music.
Jesse the singer/writer is a friend and also the nicest person you will ever meet. Super thoughtful and kind and with a ridiculous amount of talent and no ego about it. He can right a song so relatable that even if you have never been through hell he can get you relating to feeling the heat, and that is not by mistake or coincidence. Struggle is struggle. 30 years of addiction has taught me never to discount another person's pain, so don't discount your own. Life is brutal and beautiful. Much love.
I'm trying to end a 30 year binge. This song is very inspirational.
You got this, homie!! I was at it for 15. A handle a day for most of the last few years. Life is WAY more fun without havin' to worry about the next drink. If ya ever need anything, even just a chat with someone I'm the same boat, please don't hesitate to drop me a line!!
@@DaysNDazeOfficialdude I got sober for over a year after 11 years toasted, and decided to hide in a bottle again during the pandemic and I'm back to a point of comfortably numb to the point of being terrified...but i conquer the terror by pouring a bit of sauce on top of it. It's a vicious cycle. I want to quit for my personal health and second my family, but I can't do it without will power.
@@DaysNDazeOfficialI wish I just knew how to do it. I was on pills as a teenager, and then doctors though it’d be a good idea to keep me on Suboxone indefinitely because I have Panic Disorder and “I would just relapse again if I got off all opiates”. 12 years later and I haven’t gone a day without soboxone since, still the same doctor who gave it to me at 17 doing it today and refusing to help me with a taper plan or quitting. I’ve tried it myself, but it feels unobtainable. I genuinely believe I’m not strong enough to withstand the 1-2 months of sickness that comes from quitting Suboxone. I couldn’t last 5 days.
That was incredible. I started getting sober at the end of 2021 and then Escape From the Zoo released Countin' Cards and it felt like everything was just clicking into place.
So glad ya dig it!! Hope you're doin' well!!
Fucking love these guys! Saw DnD last night in Philly and it was so good for my soul. EFTZ/DnD deserve every ounce of success.
I love DnD and just discovered Escape from the Zoo today and this is such a gem ❤(saw you people live on the last Punk in Drublic at Berlin!)
++ these lyrics, as someone who is straight edge, I just loved!
Shitchyea, so glad ya dig it!! Hope ya been well!!
Dude the sword fight with the rig was soo GOOD
Punk. This is Punk.
I know with my comments I'm probably starting to sound like a broken record but this is another absolutely awesome video legitimately the first time I heard the song it made me f****** cry it hit way close to home thank y'all for being the amazing but I'm y'all are I'm continuing to have an impact on the person I try to be hopefully someday I'll be able to make it out to see y'all live love y'all
So glad ya dig it!! Shitchyea, hope to kick it sooner than later, and hope you're doin' well!!
Fat wrecks in its prime for music videos lately. Escape from the zoo is a blast live
This is dope!! Love the battle scene!
Came back here almost a year later to tell you I use the positive imagery from this video in my daily struggle with sobriety. (me, wearing silly chainmail and a wooden sword beating up my drugs of choice.) Thank you guys. Thank you Jesse. Your music means so much to so many. :)
So happy to hear you're workin' for it, homie!!
ive been off the sauce since march and its so soooo hard but im gonna make it...and this song is going to help THANK YOU!!!
This is an absolute banger. I'm starting to love these guys more and more all the time.
Thank ya so much!! Glad you're diggin' the tunes!! =] -je-C
This is my favorite song on Spotify. And now you guys release music video. Today will be the great day ever.
So glad ya dig it!! =D
2 years of sobriety here...jesses music got me through some of the darkest times of my life. Thank you EFTZ snd DND
You know sometimes where there is just no words to describe how your soul feels? Yeah. My favorite part of this vid is the end when jesse is fighting his addictions and its like they get progressively closer to his heart as they go til the main villian...good ole alcohol. Addicts understand addicts. Thats just one of the lots of reasons i love u guys. And how much i appreciat3 jesse sharing something so personal. It helps me so much knowing other people think and feel like me. We are not alone! No matter how down I am, you guys ALWAYS make me feel better. I really love you. Thanks for sharing your ikigai.
This album was on repeat my entire year 1 of sobriety dont think I would have made it this far without it thank you
Shitchyea, homie!! Congrats on the clear head!!
Congrats buddy. Much love.
Saw y’all in Huntington West Virginia. Love y’all! I had the pipe we smoked out of that was a saxophone. (Jesse didn’t smoke)
This man performed a miracle along with his beautiful wife last night. Thank you for including all us misfits in your show last night, the pictures, autographs and unity. Come back soon now! With love from Bremerton!
Loved the show last night in Reno NV!
@@gabrielbeck-davis1140 most humble man x
So happy to hear you enjoyed the show!! Hope you're well!!
jesse, this is exactly what i needed to see.
Great song. Greetings from Indonesia!
Hey!! Thank ya so much!!
Fuuuuck yeah fam! 5 years clean for me & this summer was the 1st time in too goddamn long that I stopped wearing long sleeves to cover the old abscess scars where the tracks on my arms used to be! 🖤🖤🖤
I saw them on their recent tour, got to talk to most the band members before the set. Y'all are amazing, can't wait to see you again next time you come through Austin.
Shitchyea, hope ya had fun!! Hope you're doin' well!!
I just recently started listening to escape the zoo and this song is just fantastic. I've been off coke, crack and booze for about 15 years. I still smoke pot to help with my anxiety and being able to focus. This and shelter from the spoon by morning glory are probably the two best songs about getting sober. Thank you for creating great music.
So gald ya dig it, and congrats!! Please rage on!!
Poor Koi! Haha. Nice video guys!!
Seeing yall tonight in Denver. Stoked. Just got 7 months no drinking
Yesss they finally made it into a proper song!!!
I got a wild hair to quit drinkin again today! And then this song lived rent free endlessly in my head for the rest of time happily ever after x
Makes me feel good knowing these guys are still around making music ig this world ain't so bad after all
Hell, I absolutely love the whoooo hoooo !!! dope song...
As someone who has been sober for almost a year, and struggled with alcohol since highschool, this song hits me hard.
i found ya guys from your wasted years song about a year ago. now just ran into this song, and yesterday was my 6 months of sobriety! nice song, i'll be checking out more. getting old sucks lol
Hey!! Congrats!! 6 months ain't nothin' to scoff at!! Haha, I s'pose it does. Has it's moments though don't it?
BADASS. I need another ETFZ shirt in my life. Cannot wait to see yall again! Sword fight at the end made me smile.
awesome. yes.
love the video. this whole album and the last dnd album really helped me in early sobriety. so glad to see my fav artists also making positive changes ❤️
Clicked for the chainmail. Stayed for the sobriety inspiration. Been needing a good dose of that lately. Best of luck to anyone in the same boat.
These homies absolutely kill it live. Just saw them at the Punk in Drublic festival in San Pedro!!!!
Why is this the greatest music video to ever exist
Really dig the song and the message behind it. I've lost a few dear friends because of drugs and booze.
Just noticed you are coming through Austin at the end of April, see you soon!
So sorry to hear you've lost some loved ones to those vices. Can't keep count of how many friends we've lost to a needle or bottle. If ya ever need anything don't hesitate to ask.
Shitchyea, hope to catch ya there. =] -je-C
I'm the guy who asked for lyrics to the version of this recorded in a van and was stoked to get a response from Jesse. FUCK YEAH this song is awesome and what a badass video!
That bass is so catchy, love the song, great job, guys.
Song came to me at the right time. Absolutely love you guys with all my heart.
Thank you
Well, 6 years clean off heroin, meth, beer. I struggle with weed, this band/song seriously gave me the courage to stop. I have not been able to stop smoking weed by choice in 25 years. I feel amazing. THANK YOU, ready to progress in life!!
What a dope video
I love this song!! I am glad you made a video for it
Awesome song with a great message for us dealing with addictions.
Glad ya dig it!! =] -je-C
THIS IS AMAZING love it, love the whole album and will be 6 years sober in August

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 please don't ever stop
I love this songs message I've been listening to it since it was first put up on the Days N Daze channel. An already amazing song with a comedic music video is just great.
I needed this today, thanks! Escape from the Zoo rules!
Hell yeah, glad it could brighten the day a bit!! Hope you're doin' well!! -je-C
I've loved this song since Jesse played it in what looked to be the back of a van. So amazing...

Cannot wait for the follow up to this album!
The struggle is hard and real I heard this song for the 20th time and this time I cried hard it speaks loud
Man I remember listening to this when Jesse put it out back on the other channel, sitting on a bench walking back from a CA meeting wondering where my friend was that I hadn't seen in a while. He's doing better now from what I understand, me less so...
This is really good
Mannnnnn this entire album is great…can’t count how many times I’ve played it on repeat at this point
Thanks Je-C!
Yooooooo you guys are my fave band ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Well, shit!! Thank ya so much for listenin'!! Hope ya been well. =] -je-C

I dont have kids yet and I dont want to have that, "oh, he died in '96 man," talk with them like i got about bradley nowell. Please continue to change and grow up, both of you, all of you. I love you guys so much. This last year since ive found you guys has been a crazy freakin rollercoaster. Also, go on that creepy guys podcast more. You know, the one with the leather? Love it guys keep up the excellent work!!! So glad to see you thrivin ❤❤❤
Thank ya, homie!! Hope you're doin' well!!
I love these people so much
This music video, content, and video is marvelous. Powerful message, and I really think for a low budget with great production value product. I think this should serve as a model for making music videos. I really hope to see this band and Days N Daze on NoFX final tour.
Thank you for this song
Hey! I met onion a while back aka the drummer he is an awesome guy I can't wait to get my record signed and get an awesome Polaroid photo to together!! ❤❤❤I can't wait for you guys on May 14th!!!!

love this song
Such a great song!
great video, had everything i needed including sword fights
I love this music video!
I get assorted jelly bean vibes, very cool you got a new fan
I'm so happy rn
great vid.
one idea that hit me while watching: i would have made the chainmail out of beer/soda tabs, for a kind of "Carrying/Using the refuse/lessons of your past to vanquish the foes that inadvertantly brought you here, and take back your life" vibe. also pop tab chainmail falls apart easily, so during the course of filming, you'd be losing chain links from the coif until it eventually falls away as you stand victorious, sort of symbolizing overcoming and leaving the armor/crutch you once perceived as valuable behind you and moving forward. vulnerable yes, but unburdened of it, as for now, *that* war, that period of your life has...not "Ended" per se, but ...gone cold, and you are moving forward, returning to your kingdom which is finally, at least for now, at peace. there will be myriad and different battles to come, for sure, but *today* we are victorious, and so tonight we feast.
This next water goes out to all the times we kinda assumed we were gonna die
Love your music!
Yes
Love all they do! And congrats you guys 👏!
I've been clean for a few years and it's MUCH BETTER than being fucked up all the time... and cheaper!!!
Wanna start a sXe band... hahaha
