Some fun kitty gadget suggestions from a professional petsitter (especially when you are gone for a bit and don’t have a petsitter to look in on her): Litter genie - seriously the best way to keep litter smell down without wasting tons of bags. And use natural clumping litter that smells like hay. Cats hate smelly stuff and may pee and poop somewhere else. Multiple litter boxes (always one more than the number of cats you have), or one of the fancy self cleaning litter boxes if you want to splurge. Auto feeder - especially easy for kibble, but they have timed ones with ice packs that you can use for wet food too. So nice when you may be getting home late. Water fountain - cats love running water. They descend from desert animals, so they instinctively know running water carries less bacteria. And you can get filtered ones too. Shallow raised bowls made for cats - if you don’t go the auto feeder/fountain route, you should get shallower bowls. Yours are pretty, but cats hate having their whiskers squished when eating or drinking, especially breeds like Duchess. Of course ignore whatever doesn’t work for you. I’ve taken care of a lot of cats in different homes and have found some really cool things to make both owners and cats happier.

Definitely agree with the "bread is not supposed to last that long". I used to eat regular white bread but then I started buying seeded bread bc the research indicated that it was better for you. It expired in a week. I was like, "wtf, bread isn't supposed to expire that quickly!", boy was I wrong. Little did I know that sandwich bread isn't supposed to last for a month. Now I just freeze my seeded bread to make sure it lasts until I eat it.
