I have also decided I will add a few more fish, but I will stick with more Parrotfish. I love these fish and planned on dedicating this tank to Parrotfish right from the start. That's what I'm going to do. I may add a few more at some point. Next week we are on holidays so I probably won't be around much. Hope you are all enjoying your summer!!! Much love 💖💖💖💖
Hi thankyou so much i too am a fan of parrot fish and i have several
Very cool ❤
This is so awesome!!! My natural instinct is to place some pothos in my aquarium and this video basically confirms that I should. Thanks for sharing 🌱 ❤️
Magnifique
I have so much pothos above my 29 gl tank. I came here with this exact question. Glad pothos is so crazy it will grow under water. Thank you for the video!
Hi Adam, I have always had success with my pothos living inside my tank fully submerged. They will lose an odd Leaf just like any other aquatic plant. I can only speak for myself but my success has been well documented and I've had others comment that they have had success as well. I wish you lots of luck because they do really enhance an aquarium. I don't have any in my aquarium at this point as my fish just eat them. You can float them I often use suction cups clip them to the stem of the pothos and secure them to the glass under the sand
I enjoyed watching, thanks for sharing this moment. Looking forward for another video... Happy Fish Keeping!
Hi D... so nice to see you. Thanks for your lovely feedback. Have a wonderful day!
Deb great idea that changed the whole dynamic of the tank I love it. I put the same plants inside my hang on the back filters.
Hi Rob... It's really a whole new tank. Watching the parrots they love it and cover the entire tank exploring. Happy fish. Thanks for coming by!
Looking really good. And the fish are beautiful as always😃👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Hi Jimmy... nice to see you. Thanks so much!!
It looks beautiful Deb !! I will have try it.
HI Janie... I"m loving it. So simple and beautiful!!
Very nice underwater
This is very cool!!!
Hi Ash thanks so much always happy to see you
Not me taking a whole cutting of my marble queen and throwing it in one of my tanks…. 😂
Hi Mitzi, that's what I do too and they love it!
I came to check out the pothos videos, as I have them rooting and some leaves started to grow underwater. Amazing informations, cool way to talk and teach. Got addicted to your channel! Keep up the amazing job
Hi Jennifer... welcome to my channel.... what a lovely thing to say!! Thanks so much!!! Pothos are cool and very versatile plants! It's a pleasure to meet you!! Stay safe!
Love pothos too!!!
They really are the best plants ever. You just can't kill them. And they filter the air in the house and are beneficial in so many other ways. Hope you're having a good day and staying cool. It's very hot here today and it's going to go up over the weekend! But of course when the weather goes up the humidity increases and then they call for thunderstorms
Before I watched this video I have already been doing the exact same thing and so when I saw this it made me so happy. : )
Hi Zach and welcome. It's fun to try different things and find out what works for you and your fish. Once it's established as success its time to share!! Please share yours!!
In a separate tote add ammonia to the water (or fish water) and keep steady light on. Use airstones for oxygenation/movement. Some leaves will die but more will grow underwater. Submerged leaves will grow smaller but roots will take off along with the vines. It can be done! Pothos has to be conditioned this way first for full immersion. I've grown pothos underwater in fish tanks. There is always some dieback when adjusting but then it will grow. Just clip bad parts and leave submerged.
Excellent advice!!
I think that looks fabulous Deb!
Hi Paul... thanks for coming by. I'm liking it too!!
Love Pothos, I have at least one branch in ALL of my aquariums...take care Deb..
Hi 23...It's so nice to see you!! Pothos are amazing. I have half a dozen different species in my home. This one *devil's ivy* is the best for tanks. Thanks for coming by
Is devils ivy better then Pothos?
@@DebTim
I love Pothos !
Hi Tim... it sure is popular with the fishkeepers!!
Hi Deb.
It's nice to see you.
How are you?
The Pothos and the Parrotfish look amazing, very healthy and happy.
Thank you very much for sharing, I greatly appreciate the time and effort you have put in to produce this great video.
You are a great fish keeper.
Have a great day and a great weekend.
Much love and greetings.
Hi Luca... so nice to see you. thanks so much for your wonderful feedback. I always love hearing from you !!
@@DebTim My pleasure Deb.
Hi Deb, how are you?
Beautiful this video ... your fish are amazing I too have tried this plant in Photos but not in the water but in the Turtle filter and it grows very much..in water I think it slows down the growth .... I wish you a happy weekend my friend.
Hello sweet Marco.. I'm great ... so nice to see you. I hope you are well! I love house plants and have many many all over our home. Pothos is one of the best as it's so tough. I agree the growth rate is slow when growing clippings in water. Thanks for coming by!👍💜😀💙
DIG THE VID..thx for the share CANADIAN Girl ROCKS
Hi G... great to meet you. Welcome to my channel. Love your comment my new friend. 😀💙👍
Very nice.
Hi Dale... welcome to my channel!! Thank you! It's always nice meeting new people. I will be checking out your channel soon!!
The new scape looks beautiful
Thanks Jer... happy to see you!
Wow!!!
I LOVE IT!!!!!!! It looks amazing!!!!!!
Hey Steve your suggestion was amazing. That's all it needed. I'll probably add a few more parrot fish at some point but nothing else.
@@DebTim awe! Thank you! I really love the way it looks! The color is amazing and to think it's all natural colors.. it's beautiful and it looks like they are enjoying it which is like the icing on the cake!
@@stevesaquatopia8291 IT's so cool watching the fish... they love it and dart between the leaves like kiddies!!
Cheers excellent video
Hi Ryan... so nice to meet you. Welcome and thanks so much!
Very cool! Love what you've done with the parrot fish scape. :)
Hey there.. .so nice to see you. Thanks so much. I take that as high praise from you. I don't always take time to comment but I watch all your vids and really look up to you and your knowledge!!
@@DebTim You're so sweet! Did you see my Facebook comment? I totally want to interview you about your parrot fish if you're down for it. Let me know if you're interested!
I did... I've never done that before. I have made videos for other people and they have posted them. We'll talk soon
@@DebTim Okay thanks for considering it! It would be very similar to the interview I did about clown loaches where I sent Colin my questions and he sent me the video of his answers and I edited them together: ua-cam.com/video/ngu-IC3v22o/v-deo.html
Oh yes I can do that... that's awesome
Hi Deb I was very confused whether to put or not underwater but your video was too clear n too positive.i have done it today in my small aquarium n feeling very happy
Hello Manny... so nice to see you. Welcome to my channel. I just made a new video on Pothos. It will be out next week. I'm so happy you have taken the step. In my opinion I feel there is no plant that compares!! Stay well and safe!
I have experimented on growing pathos under water very successful
Well done I love to hear good feedback!
Cool!
Hi John... thanks for stopping by and welcome to my channel!!
Very good to know about the pothos. I was thinking they would just rot away under water.
Hi D... I have the pothos in all my betta tanks and others. If they do happened to start to melt like the end of a stem clip it off. just make sure you make your cut on an angle right below the closes nut to where you want to cut. Thanks for the super feedback!!
Nice
Long time no see, old friend. This is DudeThat'sCichlid! I'm totally going to put Pothos in my tank right now!! You're the best!! FISH ON!!
I never knew it could grow underwater ! ... That's amazing ! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 💯💜
Hi IA... It's an amazing plant. They do very well in my tanks!
What's amazing is the size of the pothos plant in it's natural habitat, one leaf is the size of a large adult male
It can not . Within a month it starts to decay and becomes extremely toxic to fish .
@@kevywilliams3304 may be with good lights and wise while choosing samplings.....

Hello new friend... welcome and thanks for coming by!!
@@DebTim I SUBSCRIBED , and I also added Pothos to may aquarium 1 leaf under water and the rest above the water it rooted. photos.app.goo.gl/i7W9cbG4QQXiMrwa8
Looks good with the driftwood and plant.
Silicone acts as a good glue type substance.
Hi DP, Yes it is... if it's hidden. If not it's ugly. That's why I don't like glue. The white residue and been seen. That bugs me. Thanks for coming by!
I always used the clear aquarium silicone. It's not nearly as noticeable as the white or black.
best of luck
nice
Thanks so much!!
I love the trunk and so do the cats. My pothos don't seem to do as well underwater. I don't run light but maybe four hours a day though. Roots flourish underwater though. I love your fish and your little squints angel. Have a wonderful day. Could I talk you out of one of those Bud Lights on the back porch? Lol Have a great day beutiful!
haha... Hi King... better than that I'll share a bud with you. You know beer makes you smart right? It made Bud wiser!! HA!
I think you would need a little more light or sun on them. Mine get both. Have a wonderful day too my friend..*wink*
@@DebTim Your the best cougar on you tube! I'd love share a beer or 6! Lol
haha you are funny!
I had a doubt that can I place pothos under water in aquarium . Now its cleared . Thanks buddy
Hi Pappu... welcome. It's nice to meet you. I have kept pothos in my tanks underwater for a long time. It does extremely well. I love when it grows out of the water. It's something you can try. It works well for me. although right now I don't have any tanks with pothos except for my Betta tanks. Happy Monday!!
I'm assuming you fully submerged the plant, it died right ? This is a very poorly informed video. Pothos is not an aquatic plant, you should only keep it's roots in the water, not it's leaves.
👍
so cute
Hi... welcome and thank you for the beautiful comment. stay safe
@@DebTim back at cha!
Miss Deb I just finished making over my parot fish tank this morning I used inspiration from u now I have 7 large pathos plants thriveingin my 175 with my 6 4 year old blood parrots and my 3 and a half year old heart parrot cichlid and iys so beautifulto watch the interact with the rots and the leaves when they hide in the rots it's so cute thanks for the idea I do need sum help my 4 silver dollars like to nip and rip the roots how can I stop the. Or slow them down because I don't want to take them out the tank since all of them have been together for over 3 years ❤
Well thank you that's really a wonderful feeling that I was an inspiration. Parrot fish are truly an amazing species. It's funny how you can walk across the tank and they all follow you. I'm going to have to check out your tank do you have a picture or a video up yet? I had silver dollars in with mine as well for a while. I did move them because they demolished my plants over time. I even tried pothos and they seem to eat them as well even though they don't taste good. My oldest parrot fish was 10 and he was about 8 in that's from bottom to top and side to side. All my parrot fish I bought as youngsters some were even still green. It's amazing to watch them change color and mature. Some people say they're aggressive. I never found that. Yes they did do the most Tango once in awhile but it was just a show of dominance. I wish you all the best and hope your silver dollars stop eating because there's really nothing you can do to stop them other than replace the plants with fake. If you do want to change out for fake plants I suggest you go to your dollar store and buy some silk Vines they look excellent tied to Driftwood and they really look very similar to live plants. Anyway good luck with your aquarium. I need to update what's going on here. I no longer have parrot fish and have three large puffer fish with my silver dollars. They're another very interesting species.

Hey Bran.... Thanks..its always great to see you.
You can also add spider plant
You can but only the roots. The plant totally immersed don't do well. Eventually the leaves will start to melt.
Like~~🌸🐳🍀💝📀⏬💝🏠
Yesterday I added a branch of Pothos in my aquarium and wasn't sure it would work. But after watching this I guess it wasn't a bad move.
Hi Sajid.. welcome. It's so nice to meet you. Yes you made a good choice.I have had pothos in my tanks for years. I love pothos. Thanks for coming by. Stay safe!!
Hello first today i jumped on quick when i saw this tittle
Hi Crystal... thanks so much. I hope you are staying cool. It's a hot one here.
Beautiful tank and fish! 😍 I have a question about what kind of Pothos you’re using? Since there are so many varieties of plants called Pothos, do you suggest one kind over another? Is it better to use clippings from an old, established plant or can a smaller one be used?
I realize this video is old, but I’m hoping you’ll still see my comment. I just recently found your channel and am finding all your videos very helpful!!!
I hope all is well with you! Thanks again! 💕🐟🪴🪴🐠💕
Hi Rachelle, Thanks for stopping by and the lovely comment. I do have favorite Pothos. But I have used many species in my tanks and always have great success. I use healthy clippings dropping them in to settle as they like or I'll use air hose tubing clips and secure them to the glass. It's fun working with them. As all plants, I'll lose a leaf from time to time but they do very well for me. Once they begin to root, I switchl them out and plant the rooted shoots.
hello! I was a little septic of the result for the pothos underwater, it is magnificent! after several months is it still as beautiful? I would like your advice thank you! :)
Hi Mel... I subbed your channel and can't wait to see you tanks or any videos!! I'm happy to hear you like your pothos. It's quite amazing how well they do underwater. I don't have any in my tanks at the moment. Most of my fish eat them and make a mess. I do have some in each of my betta tanks. I love the look and it's so good for the water as well!! Please share your success!! Stay safe!!
Sees pathos underwater
Me: Hey that’s illegal
Huh? Really???
Oh wow. I didn't think the leaves would survive under water. This is good news.
Hi Dan... oh it's so cool that they actually even grow more leave underwater. and they root fast too.
@@DebTim I never would have thought. I'm going to put some of mine underwater now though. Thanks for showing this.
Beautiful aquarium... Plz keep the intro short.... Else amazing video
Thanks for your feedback. My intro is 8 seconds. It's important to keep it short which I do. Stay safe!
You can also add your spider plants to water
Hi Cezar.. I have tried spiders as well but over time most of them melted away. It's best to only allow the roots into the tank.
How long have you had a Pothos survive underwater? Thanks
Hi... I have oodles of pothos in my home. I have had them in certain tanks for months and months. I usually plant them once their roots are good. Sometimes I pick off a leave that may die just as they do out of water. They are a great addition to any tank and are hardy.
How's your pothos now?
Doing well showing lots of roots and actually growing underwater! How amazing
Can I do this in a goldfish tank?
Hi Wendy... welcome to my channel.. it's so nice to meet you. I am sure they would flourish in a goldfish tank as they are big eaters and big poopers. Great plant food. I think they would do well in any tank as long as there are no plant-eaters in there. I subbed you!!
Can it survive if sometimes i add aquarium salt in the tank?
Hi El.. It's something you can try. I haven't tried that but it's a strong plant so I would say yes it should be fine. Merry Christmas
Do pothons survive when they fully submerged and tied to a rock without soil
Hi.... welcome. I have had great success with pothos secured with a rock. I also like to use the suction clip from airline tubing.
@@DebTim can co2 increase the life.....

Hello Winnie... great to see you. How's that little piglet doing? Thanks so much for stopping by.. be safe and happy!!
Are the pothos stil thriving?
Hi CA, Welcome to my channel... so nice to meet you!! I don't have any in my tanks but I have lots in my outdoor pond and my indoor pond. They are flourishing and rooting well!
Why did you remove them from your tanks?
how old is the tank when u filmed it
All of my video are up to date vids of all tanks.. posted within a week of filming or less. Is that what you mean?
@@DebTim i think nicole was asking how long has the pothos been in the tank when you filmed it
Can I let my golden pothos float like water lettuce in my 5 gallon tank with low light condition?
Hi Lisa.. Welcome.. Yes you can. I often float them when I need cover for small fish or fry. It's an amazing plant!! Good luck!
@@DebTim thank you so much :)
if parrot fish eat this pothos plant any have problems for the parrot fish?
Hi Bishal.. Welcome. I have never had Parrotfish that eat plants. If they did it wouldn't hurt them. They probably wouldn't like the taste. thanks for coming by!
Thanks mem.. for your concern ❤️😊
I thought pothos couldn’t grow underwater
Hi Chris... They do very well right in the water. I don't plant any I just allow it to float around and secure some with a rock.
How is pathos aquatic !!! It rots
awesome
i just added Pothos in my tank underwater and now im looking if its ok if they were underwater will they grow normal ? or die ..
Hi and welcome to my channel. I have used Pothos in my tanks for years. As long as the fish don't nibble them they do very well underwater. They even grow new leaves and many roots. I hope you share so we can see!! Have a wonderful day!!
Do pothos survive underwater??
Yes they do well underwater
@@DebTim well ❌ survive ✔️??
I came for the pothos only but it's gone down south with so much talk
Hi Rajeshh... welcome to my channel. I have a new video out tomorrow about my pothos. Please watch it. I love pothos and use them all the time. I have no problems or ill effects from them. Stay safe and have a great day!!
@@DebTim thank you firstly for replying back...
With your busy schedules and uploading videos, I wasn't expecting any.
Looking at your pothos... Even underwater is spell binding....
I want to grow them underwater but don't know where to begin...
I got betta fish.. male and female in separate tanks.....
And I have a few aquatic plants but replacing em is expensive so pothos is the only plant that comes to mind...
The leaves are extremely toxic !
Hi Kevin... yes they are toxic when ingested. Although, they are not harmful. The toxin leaves a burning sensation in the mouth for some. That is the plants natural defence against being eaten. Usually enough to prevent a second bite. The toxins are mild and not poisonous. I have used pothos for years and am well aware of the amazing plants properties and side effects. I also have 2 dogs and 4 cats. All my creatures are safe and healthy. Thanks for sharing your opinion. Nice meeting you.
@@DebTim kevina. I’m a girl :) the pothos will start to decay in 30-40 days depending water ph and kh . At which point you will start to have fish get very sick. And die .
Hi Kev... Nice to meet you. Well this goes to show you what works for some doesn't work for others. I have had Pothos in aquariums underwater for years and never lose fish and it doesn't affect my parameters at all. I would love to see a video of yours to see how yours does. It's interesting how different areas and water sources can play a part in many aspects of this hobby. I'm glad I haven't had those issues.
Seriously !??? You can submerge lithos leaves ?????
Yes you can. I have for years. In this attached video are pothos in my FH tank that have nice roots growing.. bit.ly/2MNw2ll
You don’t want any metal (screw) in aquariums. Can kill fish.
Hi Coleby... welcome to my channel. Great advice.. and thanks for coming by.. Stainless steel is the best.
U don't need special food for your plants
Hi Anna... welcome.. I have never used any ferts with my pothos in tanks. There is enough in the water for them to flourish. Great comment!! Stay safe!
Thank you u have a blessed day
