I love those old Triumph bikes. I love that they are simple, engines, gearbox and wheels. Without any of the fancy electronic, intrusive, price increasing, shit. I am now saving money to buy a used Thunderbird 1600/1700.
That's a clean looking cafe racer. I'd totally rock that any day. My only gripe is the hipster epidemic that would think that I'm a brooklyn poser like them. LOL

@@shadetreesurgeon you know what it is man, I have some respect for the old schoolers or even modern cafe guy that's deep into it, and you can talk bikes with those guys, but man then there's those hipstered out dudes that bought the look, and pretty much do short urban rides to make sure you know they look cool, then you go "Hey man nice bike, you ever take it up to (enter popular local riding canyon here) ?" And you get "huh? No..." Then I'm just like okay we're done here.
FU** what others think or say, just go be weird if you like the cafe racer, buy it.

Thruxtons are cool. There's an old guy (about 75) that shows up at the Speedway store in Brooksville all the time on his.
"Old Guy"? Hell at 75 you can finally buy anything you want...like a new 1,200 Thruxton R. Check out the Triumph Ratnet Forum. There's a guy (in his 70s BTW) from Boise with a 1,200 Thruxton R with videos showing him at the drag strip doing 12 second quarters and at Bonniville Salt Flats last summer doing 140!.
Got me A Triumph Thruxton 900! So stoked and love riding this thing man. Have those same B.C exhausts myself one black. Dude I’m just in love. This video helped me steer that way. Thanks to the shade.
Bike prices around the world in some places are just stupid. I live in Canada too and some people are insane for what they want for bikes. It was probably still a deal even after shipping/exchange/duty depending on where the dude was....Cali/Florida/Texas, for obvious reasons, have some of the best deals.
Factory "Cafe Racer". I usually associate Cafe Racers like Bobbers and Choppers are built at home or custom shops. Thrux's are nice and I put it in as Bonnie Variant. The old Speedmaster is the most radical of the Bonnie line. Bonnies are light and fast bikes for sure. Nice bike.
I have a 2014 Thruxton. I've road tripped it haha. I have a set of throwovers and a tank bag and you can do limited touring with them. The secret is that they have a long seat, and depending on where you sit on the seat you can move yourself around a lot to get comfortable on them. And when mine needs any sort of bottom end work the 1197 stroker kit is coming :)
I have a 2014 SE mag wheels. Only thing left to do would be the Big Bore kit and cams, but honestly I am very happy right now.

Had a red 2012 Thruxton. Shockingly comfy, even for rides like up to Gainesville from Tampa on 75 -- it'd do 80 all day, and the wind takes the weight off your wrists. My advanced age these days requires an upright position and a big windscreen, however (Africa Twin), so the Thruxton's long gone.
Glad to see you on a900 triumph, I know you like these bikes even it's a "café racer". French triumph 2005 speedmaster rider. Cheers.

Nothing bad with a cafe racer. The roadsters are definitely a sweet looking bike. Triumphs are beautiful bikes. Same reasons I like H-D I like triumphs, clean, simple, and ready to use.
I knew if you got to ride one you would have a blast even though you're not really a fan of them..I'm not exactly a fan of them either but every time I've ridden one I absolutely loved the ride..a few of my friends are really into them so I get to ride them once in awhile and I tell ya the more I ride them the more I actually want one of my own..not sure if I could ever actually do it or not though..
I've rode (and still have) the old triumphs and the new ones...they are all fun.
Nice bike, the 2016+ 1200cc thruxtons are beasts compared to the early 900cc bikes.
I like that in Josh's chopper-dreaming mind a thruxton counts as a cafe. If we're ever in the same place at the same time again man, you're welcome to take my cb750 for a ride, granted I know sketchy bikes don't scare you too much

I'm not a fan of cafe racers, either. But I agree, it's easy to fall in love with any bike when ridden. Besides, it's a Trumpet, how could anyone not love a Trumpet?

“Faster than the FXR”? Hell, a bus is faster than the FXR!! I never cared to much for the cafe racer style either. I rode a friend’s ‘78 Bonneville for about 6 weeks back in ‘80 and loved it. He wouldn’t sell it so I ended up buying a Sportster. Been a love affair with Harley ever since but your love of Triumph has steered me back to the brand. I’m really diggin on the Tiger 900! I rode the bobber black last summer and loved it but I looked kinda, well, “Old Fat Bald Guy” on a little bike. Sorta like 🎵Fat Man in a Little Coat🎵!! Yeah, I’m weird!!!
Fuck me that sounds good! I'm going to pay off my sporty then slap a 140hp 1275 kit in it. That's the plan right now anyway. But the way I have it built is cafe racer inspired. Keep up the great work Shadetree!

I'm the guy who WANTED to buy the "last bike", that beautiful triple! I called and was surprised to learn they still had it. Unfortunately for me, they were referring to the Thruxton. I hadn't seen the Thruxton video yet. It was slightly out of my price range nor am I looking for a cafe racer. I don't seem to catch these videos in a timely manner. I'd like to relive my youth on a 68 Bonneville! Anyhow, Shadetree, I've seen more than a few of your vids, I like your attention to Trumpets. I do wish you didn't bad-mouth Harley as much as you do, I plan on buying one. You keep making vids, I'll keep watchin'... you're weird. I like that! Thanks!

I like the speed twin more then the thruxton. Both in looks and ride ergonomics. Get one of those out for a test ride and let us know what you think.
I had a couple Bonnie's back in the day. A 64 and 66 couple Nortons commandoes also those were fast back then.
I used to own one when I was a returning rider fun but I've upgraded to a sport naked!

Even though I ride a Harley Softtail Slim, I like Triumph motorcycles a lot. I would definitely consider buying one.
Point 1 There are Hinkley Triumphs and then there are Meriden Triumphs. All Hinkley's are new to me ( coz I'm old) and all the Meriden's are old.
Point 2 I detested cafe racers when I started building / riding bikes.............. Now I love em and even build my own slimline featherbed frames. Who'd of thought!!!!!!

I live in the twisties near Big Bear Lake, CA. We have some of the most incredible motorcycle riding in the world in Southern California in terms of just how much fun it is if you’re ever back out here hit me up I have a 2020 Harley Davidson fat boy with the screaming eagle stage 4 and S & S 2 into 1 exhaust system with tuners and legend suspension. Dude. Thing is sick. I’m a new rider I’ve only been riding for 2 1/2 years so I don’t deserve a bike like this but I’ll tell you what the cannabis industry is doing really good for me in Southern California. Hahaahha

Nice bike but I bought a 16' Thruxton 900 in July with 2700 miles on it for $5500. 25k miles is a lot for that price.
Check out hipster Shadetree, lol. Needed to ride it through an abandoned factory with skinny jeans. Then stop at music shop to buy vinyl. It’s all good.. Two wheels!!
