She sings well but this song is so disjointed with the strumming pattern she's using. So sad because she actually wrote the song. Mark Knopfler pulled everything straight when he accompanied her singing and playing.

Sorry sport...you seem to be missing the poetic symmetry of the lyrics with your "commercial ear." And Marc Knopfler would hardly agree with you I suspect...so your use of his name in your aimless critique is a bit of a fraud. The "dire straits" of your reasoning has run amuck in meaningless negativism.
