Ey up Kezzzaaa! Bentota is probably our new favourite resort in Sri Lanka. Much cleaner and nicer than our previous favourite Mirissa and it actually has police in resort. It's not a party place by any means but I think we are getting old before our time. Now we've been in India nearly a week the spice level has been turned up a notch though! 🌶️🌶️
Bentota was a particular highlight for us. We did the typical tourist trail the year previously but wanted something a bit new this time. We flew from Kerala to the Maldives and stayed on Maafushi. It was like the surface of the sun but definitely worth it!
@@ParksTravelGuide we helped at Bentota a few years after the Tsunami, poor people! We went to an elephant sanctuary and a turtle sanctuary, we let some little turtles off at night 😃 wonderful memories. Your vid reminded us of our great times there 👍😃 keep them coming, we travel a lot and your very helpful with an easy look on life 👍 Jersey & Guernsey next for us next month, then the Caribbean in February 😃 Motorhome in-between. Safe happy travels 🤞😎

We're doing Marrakech, Seville and Albufeira next month in 9 nights and then Becky's just booked a cruise with Princess for November around the Aegean instead of our usual long haul trip so you'll see plenty more but have some already queued for editing. Good video for backpackers Just $200 enough for entire Sri Lanka they didn’t mention There was a bakery van in the morning it’s come today every street can buy you banned for $1 maybe can use that for the lunch too
We asked the locals about it and nobody knew or was bothered that we were flying it to get some footage. Some people hadn't seen a drone before so they were more curious than anything else.
@ParksTravelGuide Thank-You. Another question - Did you have to take specific drone approval at airport? Based on other reviews, they advice not to take drone for Sri lanka travel - what was your experience?
@DesiTravelExplorers we never fly ours anywhere near an airport, plus it's a DJI so it has zone blocking and won't take off unless we apply for a licence on the DJI app and declare everything. It's just not worth the time for a few seconds of a clip. Some places you can't use your drone (like Kandy for example) and some you can get away with it. If we're in doubt we don't use it. A lot of countries are cracking down on drone use so ours is pretty much not worth the hassle anymore. The Philippines have strict rules too and you need to apply for a licence. In Egypt they confiscate it at customs until you depart as you're basically accused of being a spy. It's definitely getting harder!
Hey Tomas. We had no issues and saw no stray dogs in Bentota. The only thing we had to be careful of were the Rickshaw drivers who tried to overcharge tourists massively.
Hey Vishu. Yeah they were a bit worse for wear, possibly age related and battered by the strong sea winds. Either way they could do with replacing. Thanks for watching!

We loved Sri Lanka and stayed at Bentota beach hotel, we then moved to Kuramathi island in the Maldives. Great vid of surrounding area 👍
