GSL will always be a staple for me to watch. I see GSL, I watch, no matter who's playing. Changing timezones made it hard for me to catch live, so now I watch the VoD instead
Yeah.. I mean state is passable but the chemistry just isn't anywhere near tastosis. In this day and age it should be no issue to green screen him in the cast. I really wish it could happen. Even iem was a bummer to watch without tastosis casting the final, pig is ick.
minor spoiler for shin vs drg: 1:16:30 poor drg had the perfect response to the incoming attack, but after sending the two queens to wall in, he mismicroed one of them back to main (probably to pump larva) one misclick cost him the entire game.
I thought Maru was dead so many times in game 3 vs Shin. Astounded that Maru won that. Shin might have won outright if he solidified his momentum after the first few pushes by taking out the undefended base the 9 oclock position.
Two reasons: Ghosts are OP as fuck against zerg, and Shin stayed on roach tech for *WAY* too long. Zerg really needs a proper answer to ghosts. You basically have to hope the terran fucks up or the terran just wins by default if the game goes late.

Ghosts dont kill things THAT fast and he was crippling Marus economy for like 20 minutes, which he just needed to continue doing for a little longer. I feel like his 2 biggest mistakes were 1: Committing super hard to wiping out the viking count and then never making any more broodlords after that, and 2: (obviously) when he forgot to mine gas for I don't know how long. From the position he got himself into, I think Dark, Serral, Reynor, Solar and a few other zergs would have probably won that.
@@qui11 It's more that terran is really broken. Ghosts are simply too damn efficient against both other races, but especially zerg. Terran just wins by default in TvZ if the game goes late unless the terran player fucks up or there is a *huge* skill discrepancy - and generally neither of those apply to Maru. I don't think Serral would be able to beat Maru again with the infestor gimmick play, because next time Maru will be ready for it (he just needed to be scanning everywere ahead of his army.)
They took out the ads because gsl is not popular in Korea. No ad = no support. Gsl is basically running on afreeca tv funds and overseas donations. It costs a lot of money to run a tournament this scale. At least 5 to 10 times more than prize pool. Someone's gotta pay tasteless, state, and youtube editors, camera men etc.

for game 2 against shin i think maru forgot that you always have to back up after destroying the zerg army and scout the unit switch and rebuild the appropriate army. Its always the pattern that they unit switch after you destroy with their comp.
A lot of people think that Maru should play more mech Terran but this is why he should not. Mech is very vulnerable to viper roach ravager and if it take Maru to narrowly beat Shin 2-1 then it’s not very reliable against better Zerg players like Dark, Reynor and Serral.
Really feel like zerg needs some answer to ghosts. Literally *all* of their late game viable unit compositions are handled by ghosts. Everything can be sniped, vipers and infestors are likely to get EMP'd, etc. Serral beat Maru in katowice but what he did with burrowing infestors everywhere on the map, without them being part of a control group, is the kind of thing that can only happen a few times before players adjust to it. Notably, Maru was playing standard/bio terran and not mech in those games. I don't know if Serral could do that again, or if it would even work on a mech player (since tanks would automatically target and gib the infestors) at all. Maybe make ultras take only half or 1/4 damage from snipes or something, with the carapace upgrade? Ghosts are the lynchpin for *all* terran late-game compositions in all matchups, so while I think ghosts are OP, I don't think nerfing the ghosts themselves is necessarily the solution here.

He did let them in, but even if he didn't, the Queens would have lost quickly anyway. He had very little else and did not respect it enough.

Exactly. It is too slow and non-reactive if the good Zerg players know how to circumvent the strong points, as Serral has proved time and time again.
