WILD CAMPING WITH THE VANGO NYX 200 TENT | SHOTLEY PENINSULA SUFFOLK

- A 6 mile walk and a wild camp with Candice at Shotley Peninsula in Suffolk, where the Rivers Stour and Orwell meet and flow out to sea. Starting from the Bristol Arms pub at Shotley Gate, we headed along the riverside path of the Stour as it got dark, to a spot that I wild camped at a long time ago.
We used our Vango NYX 200 2 person tent. It worked perfectly. Next morning we resumed the walk which passed through Erwarton village (lots of amazing history there!) up to the other side of the peninsula and the banks of the Orwell.
We stopped at Shotley church and it's war graves, passed the site of HMS Ganges, a Martello tower with a water tank built on top and Shotley marina. Shotley Pier is also the subject of a future video, along with Ganges Pier, including HMS Ganges itself.

Great little circular walk of one of my favorite spots, interesting history of Erwarton church will definitely have to give it a visit.

Excellent and interesting video Tom, really enjoyed this. Looked like a good wild camp and walk. Sad to see HMS Ganges being built on, John Noakes climbed that mast, respect to anyone that can climb up there. Nice one 👍

Thanks for watching. Try using Google earth to search for potential spots. Unsure about Chelmsford area but loads along the rivers at Shotley.

the eBay shop is called Tread Lite Gear. type that in and see if it works as my eBay links never seem to work. he makes a lot of it himself and it's great quality gear, plus very affordable. I agree, get the next size down or more. Small seems the best size, unless you have long legs. Me and Candice both have them in the small size, still massive!

That looked like another nice camp X Lovely walk and history. I have a relative and a couple of friends that were on 'HMS Ganges' so was nice to see that grave site X Did you decorate you hat with that feather to impress Candice (13-40m)? Yet again another cracking video and very informative... maybe a little too informative but if you have ever been to Coalhouse Fort (and I'm sure you have) then maybe don't park in their carpark and sit in your car too long as its supposedly one of the areas premier dogging hotspots... its amazing what you can find when researching places on the internet lol.
everyone assumes the porno was about dogging lol what is everyones obsession with dogging?! lol if you must know, it was a tame video of this guys wife flashing him whilst she was wearing some lingerie underneath a flasher mac at the picnic site. nothing strong really but always makes me laugh whenever I go there lol. thanks for watching mate.

are you sure?! lol. Coalhouse fort is amazing, not been inside, want to. Candice grew up round there and used to play in the fort, she even met the ghost of the little girl in the tunnels who steals peoples shoes!

He got married ages ago and I think has kids now. He just lost touch with me and I think I lost his contact details. He never really enjoYed the walking and the wild camps either after this and we gradually drifted apart. Met some great people since though.
