Where do I start?
Fritz, Carriers, the city of Frisco did such a great job putting on this event. The turn out was really massive. The park is really spread out, but even with that in mind you can tell the numbers were huge.
I want to write in depth about the event, give you every detail, etc... But I'm going to leave that to whoever is handling the legit edit.
This is the non-legit edit.
This is the Jumbo experience... So here's how it went from our perspective.
I've never ran a booth before... Hell, I didn't even know this was going to be a company when I started it. It's a joke that's gotten really, really out of hand.
I love it.
I didn't think about this beforehand, but running a booth, a side event, trying to skate a little AND film an edit of the experience is... A lot.
Almost too much, but I still managed.
Thank god for the crew helping me hold it down. Bcam basically covered the booth and sales the whole time, Gogo and Aaron helping me film. Heath, Ant and Caleb helping me facilitate our mystery event...
Oh my god, I can't believe they let us do the mystery event, hahaha.
Jumbo World Tournament.
It was so stupid.
No one had a clue, not even the people running the contest.
I'm not sure how people actually felt about it. I can't really remember much of it, because I was so focused on announcing. I edited the footage, but I do it all so quickly I haven't taken the time to really grasp the crowd reaction yet....
.......But if you ask me? I laugh every time. I laugh just thinking about it.
That's really all I want to do, just have a good time.
If we're ever allowed to do another mystery event, it might be more focused towards skating... But I love the slapstick, pie-in-the-face, loony toons nature of it all.
Without ranting for too long (because I'm sure maybe only 10 people read these descriptions anyway), I think everything about the event was a success.
I love my friends.
I love the rollerblading scene.
I especially love EVERYONE that came by the booth and said what up.
For real, I say it every time and I mean it... I'm shocked that people care.
I care so much about skating and about us as a community, it's just really great to know that there are people out there that I can resonate with.
Thank you to everyone that came out, that shows love, that watches this...

For me, this event was... surreal! I started skating when I was 11, (28 now) and stopped for some time. When I moved to Texas from Colorado a couple years ago I felt the need to get back to skating. I am so glad I did because I found a community here that I always longed for as a kid. Seeing arlo, and so many other people I looked up to as a kid and folks I've just recently learned about, from Grob to the jumbo crew. It was a dream come true!
Wish I had the courage to talk to anyone but I felt like a kid again and just had to soak it all in. Thank you guys for coming out and helping make this such a special moment for me!

Next time I head to the park I'm bringing a big jug of milk with a jumbo sticker on it and just chug it going fakie. People might get mad. But they won't know that I'm training for glory ... and a good source of calcium.

Agreed. If I were at Salo... they'd be getting a shoe first... then I'd work on a dual pro boot. I'd ask these cats to ski too.

I missed so much footage too. I only got to film at random times throughout the night. So much more skating happened. I'm sad I couldn't document it all.

It was definitely a strange transition going from classic skating, to some weird milk relay race, back to classic skating 😂

If there's one thing I learned from watching the Jumbo World Tournament is that we need to start some "How to skate backwards well" clinics... All jokes aside loved the edit!

This event looks sick, didn't even know about it, but love that its not super crowded or indoors, but still has great tallent. Gonna be on my radar for next years travel ideas.

I didn't get to film a lot of the prelims and stuff, so sadly I missed a lot of footage. When I was walking over to film the finals I saw Mike getting carried off because he'd gotten wrecked on a transfer. Bummed I didn't get any clips of him, he's a cool dude
