- The forehand flick uses topspin to counter short backspin balls. This shot is super effective for multiple reasons. First, a fast flick can catch your opponent by surprise. Secondly, flicking the ball creates weak topspin, just weak enough so your opponent can't simply counter it with a block, but also strong enough so that chopping the ball will lead to a high return. Use this technique and you are guaranteed to win some free points!

Why are you the ball up with the flick instead of hitting it forward? The opponent can easily react to your slow and high ball. No hate.

The point of forehand flip is to make the use of opponent's backspin. You use opponent's backspin to your advantage by flickling it with bat faced upward so that the backspin doesnot go out of control
